Chapter 40 – Close, 6 Hours
Fujiwara Mansion, Shibuya.
In the dojo, Yamada sat across from his sister, Rio. Both of them were covered in sweat, the result of extensive refining of their Cores. They hadn't slept since last night and continued training.
Usually, it was something destructive. But Gaia was there to make sure that they were alright, sitting on the corner while munching on a snack. When the siblings seemed to be unstable, she would stop them and teach them how to move their Arcane next to recover.
This doubled as training for their control over their Arcane, too.
Finally, after the forgotten sixth cycle of refining their Cores, they stopped simultaneously and exhaled audibly.
"Puha…! T-That was really tiring!"
Rio complained as she flopped down on her back, spreading her arms and legs. Her hair and cropped shirt stuck to her skin thanks to the sweat, but it wasn't seen through as it was made from a thick material.
