Prologue: Humans go nowhere

In the demon realm, it is either kill or get killed; demons frequently murder members of their own race for no apparent reason. Your standing in the demon realm rises when you defeat a higher level demon. Additionally, demons with names are typically thought to be the strongest.

The demonic realm is divided into three levels: lower, middle, and higher. Higher ranking demons, such as Lilith, the one who killed me, only come to the lower levels to kill time or out of boredom.

The demon realm is uninteresting to me because demons have cheap behavior and are conceited, and their main concern is rising to the top of the hierarchy by killing other powerful demons. There are numerous ways to improve your standing in the demon realm, but the higher you rise, the more demons will seek to bring you down.

For someone like me who genuinely does not care about rankings, it is preferable to die than to engage in unnecessary conflict. The only thing I hate about dying is the pain; demons enjoy toying with their prey, so they always make death painful.

What happens to a human when they die? They hold the superstitious belief that, based on the number of good and bad deeds they have committed, they will either go to heaven or hell.

Sorry, but neither hell nor heaven allow illegal entry; given the human life span and death rate, both heaven and hell will be filled within a few decades.

Just kidding, a human's death marks the end for them, unlike angels and demons. Well that's what I believe since I've never seen any human in demon realm.

Perhaps they go to a restaurant where the waiter invites them to play some simple games and then determines whether or not they should be banished or reborn. who knows?

A demon that passes away loses their physical form and is transported in their spiritual form to the human realm. In this form demon has all of their prior nature and memory... maybe?

A demon's spirit form allows them to either inhabit people or continue to exist as an evil spirit.

Possession can take many forms, depending on the demon's power. However, when a demon dies, they can only possess the dead body of a human.

Since demons are incapable of possessing objects, it is impossible for a random wealthy person to become possessed by a demon that is hiding a spooky-looking mask in their basement.

Now that I recall humans ranking is determined by how wealthy they are.

My previous possession of a human bodies taught me a lot of things, including the fact that they do not eat raw meat, have delicate bodies, heal slowly, and, strangely, frequently change their language.

Maybe they frequently use a different language to differentiate between humans and demons. However, humans who are possessed typically go on a rampage and have a sinister aura that makes them easy to spot.

In my first possession, I tried to start a conversation, but since I was speaking a language other than this human's native tongue, I was found out right away and exorcised.

Thus, in my second possession, I made an effort to watch them and learn their language, but was discovered because humans cannot defeat a creature called elephant with their bare hands.

Then there was my previous possession; this was the first time in my life that I had experienced an unfamiliar feeling that was screaming for me to "be on my guard."

"Why am I talking to myself and how long has it been since I entered the human realm? Unlike in the past, humans are more strict about not leaving a dead body on the surface." I observed.

Demons in spirit form can only possess bodies that are in specific physical states. They cannot possess bodies that have been buried.

"Finally..." I approached the human boy's body immediately upon seeing it.

Possessing a human body depends on three factors:

First, the amount of either a positive or negative aura that the person is radiating; second, the strength of the demon attempting to take possession of the body; and third, the physical state of the body; if the body is sliced into pieces, possession is impossible.

Given the negative aura this boy possesses, it will not take long to fully control it.

"Izumi ga iki... to w.. dōiu... u ka?" From inside the house, I could hear a faint voice.

The first thing I experienced after regaining control over my senses was an abrupt excruciating pain.

"Maa ki Aakh! Ye dard (Shit! this pain)." I cried in pain.

This body was not in good shape; blood was dripping from the nose, my left eye's vision was blurry, and the left arm was broken.

For some reason, when I take control of bodies, I can feel the suffering that the prior owner experienced.

As I struggled to suppress this emotion, I heard footsteps coming from behind me.

"Son'nani kowagara seru na yo, kono bitchi!" The male human spoke to the weeping female human.

What? They changed their language again? was the first thing that came to mind once I grew accustomed to the pain.
