The Demon Prince Wants to be my Shop Assistant!

Song Ae Rin used to be a CEO but a vengeful ex-employee murders her in cold blood. She wakes up in a different body and in the world of the novel she was reading before she died. The body she had transmigrated into is the body of a character who never gets mentioned in the novel and doesn't even have a last name. Her name was Peach. She had become the peasant girl who neither had family nor friends in a small village. But that's okay! She can just fulfill her dreams as a baker in this new world! One day, she meets an injured man in the woods. She knew this man! He's Min Eunsu, her best friend from her original world! But what was he doing here and why did his clothes look so expensive? From the creator of I Choose The Villain Duke comes a transmigration story of second chances and innocent love. Excerpt: The tall bush at her right side rustled and something big came out! "Go away!" Peach shouted while shutting her eyes and swinging her basket in front of her. THUCK! Her basket hit something. She nervously opened her eyes. Huh? It wasn't a beast. It was a hooded man and Peach had just hit him with all her might. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" Peach said. THUD! The man suddenly collapsed on the ground. He wasn't moving. Oh no. Did she just hit an elderly person? Or a sick person?! "Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Please be okay! I'm so sorry. Did I hit you too hard?!" Peach said as she crouched down beside the hooded man. Blood. Peach gasped. His shirt was full of blood and he was still bleeding. "We have to stop the bleeding. Please don't die," Peach said. The man suddenly grabbed her wrist. Peach jolted up in surprise. "W-who..." The man said weakly. The man struggled to sit up. As he did, his hood fell down, revealing his face. Peach's eyes widened in shock. Hair as black as a moonless night, stern-looking eyes with long dark lashes, and a very, very handsome face. "Eunsu!" Peach exclaimed. The man narrowed his eyes at her. Heavily injured in front of Peach was someone she knew very well. Someone Peach dearly missed and didn't expect to see again. "Eunsu! Why are you here?! No, wait. Let me treat you first. Argh! You're bleeding too much! Stop moving!" Peach said. "Who are you?" He asked. "Shush. Let's talk later," Peach said and tore the ends of her skirt. "W-what are you doing?!" "Shush. Stay still. I don't have a bandage here so this will do for now," Peach said and began wrapping his chest with the fabric of her skirt. Peach helped him walk back to her cottage. She half-carried him and half-dragged him. It was very difficult for her but she pressed on. The woods were too dangerous at night and she had to treat his wounds as soon as possible. Good thing she had stocked up on some first aid stuff in her cottage. She managed to bring him in and she let him down on her sofa. He was unconscious again but he was breathing heavily. She had to hurry. Peach worked tirelessly that night to save the man she brought in to her home. She cleaned his wounds, applied ointments on them, and bandaged him up too. She wiped down his face and his arms with a wet cloth as he was getting feverish already. Once his fever went down several hours later, Peach sat on the floor beside the sofa where Eunsu was sleeping. She touched his forehead again. Good. No more fever. Peach smiled. She didn't expect to ever see him again. She had missed him so much. Her best friend in the whole world. She closed her eyes as fatigue came over her, lulling her to sleep. Her precious secretary from her past life.

When snow and tears fell

Eunsu parked the car in a parking building near the restaurant. They just had to cross the street to get there.

"Eunsu! It's snow!" Ae Rin said.

Eunsu looked up. She was right. It was snowing.

"Wahh, it's pretty," Ae Rin said and twirled around with her palms open wide as she tried to catch the snow.

Eunsu smiled. She was so adorable.

Ae Rin rubbed the side of her arms.

"Are you cold?" Eunsu asked.

"Just a bit. I'm sure it will be warmer in the restaurant," Ae Rin said.

Eunsu rubbed his hands together then placed his hands on Ae Rin's cheeks. Her eyes widened from surprise at first then she felt the warmth and closed her eyes while smiling.

"Wahh that feels nice. You're so warm, Eunsu," Ae Rin said happily.

"No, you're the warmest person I know, Ae Rin," Eunsu said

Ae Rin laughed.

"What's that supposed to mean? Anyway, let's go. I'm so hungry already. I wonder if they have bacon," Ae Rin said and began crossing the street.

"Wait, I'll just check the number of our reserved table," Eunsu said and looked at his cell phone.

He didn't notice that Ae Rin didn't hear him and she had gone ahead of him already.

SCCCCCREEEEEEACCCCCCHHHHH!!!

A truck that was going too fast with a panicking driver trying to control the wheel in vain was coming towards them.

Ae Rin was in the middle of the street. She turned her head to see the truck. Her mouth opened in surprise but the truck was too close, too fast, and it was so near.

Eunsu looked up and saw the truck getting nearer and nearer to Ae Rin.

"AE RIN!" He shouted.

He pushed her as hard as he could towards the other side of the street.

"NO!" Ae Rin screamed.

There was a loud crash. The sound of metal against hard concrete. The truck had crashed on a wall.

"Eunsu?" Ae Rin said softly.

Why was he on the ground looking all crumpled up and bent in the wrong places?

"Eu-Eunsu?" Ae Rin shakily said.

She walked towards him.

He was lying face down on the floor all disheveled up with a tire mark on the back of his suit. She knelt beside him. Her mind still couldn't fully accept what just happened. Did not want to accept. He shouldn't be lying on the floor like this. Why wasn't he moving?

"Eunsu! P-please get up! Eunsu!" Ae Rin cried out.

Tears welled up from her eyes, falling on the back of Eunsu's head.

Around Ae Rin, several onlookers saw what had happened and people were calling for the police and the ambulance. The onlookers had apprehended the truck driver. He didn't look like he was about to escape. In fact, he looked shock too but Ae Rin didn't notice them. She didn't notice the things happening around her. All she could see was Eunsu lying on the ground in front of her not moving.

"Eunsu! Please! Get up. Say something! Eunsu!" Ae Rin cried out to him as if she was just waking him up.

Then she saw the blood under him. It was pooling under his body. Ae Rin sharply inhaled.

"No no no no no no no! Eunsu! Wake up! Please! Don't leave me!" Ae Rin said.

He moved.

Slightly.

"Eunsu! Don't worry. Help is coming. Just hold on," Ae Rin said.

Eunsu's head moved and he turned to her. Blood was dripping down from his forehead. He saw her face peering down at him and he smiled gently.

"I've made you cry. I didn't mean to," Eunsu whispered and gasped for air.

"No! You didn't! J-just please hold on. Help is coming I'm sure. Don't leave me, Eunsu. Please," Ae Rin said her tears falling on Eunsu's cheeks.

"I'm not sure I can . . . fulfill that wish," Eunsu said smiling at her weakly.

"It's my order! You can't leave my side!" Ae Rin cried out.

"I have such a demanding boss," Eunsu said.

He lifted his arm and touched her wet cheek with his trembling hand.

"I was going to ask you . . ." Eunsu said.

Darkness.

Darkness was starting to surround his vision. He still wanted to see Ae Rin's face.

"Ask me what?" Ae Rin asked.

"To . . ." Eunsu trailed off.

It was getting harder to breathe.

He lost strength in his arm. He could no longer touch her cheek. He felt Ae Rin take his hand and bring it back to her cheek. She was so warm but he was feeling cold.

"Eunsu! Wake up! Please! You have to live!" Ae Rin shouted.

He was starting to lose consciousness. Too much blood had been lost and it was so cold.

"Cold . . ." He whispered.

"It's just the snow, Eunsu. It's just the snow. You're going to be okay! Eunsu! Please. Stay with me!" Ae Rin cried out.

"I wanted to . . . "

He wanted to ask her to be his girlfriend.

He wanted to be her boyfriend.

He wanted to stay by her side always.

Then the cold took over him and there was nothingness.
