Chapter Two: Everything He Wanted Yet Not

Fumiko Genji lay on the floor. Not by choice of course, why would she want to lie on the floor. But it was the best position to defend herself with her arms covering her head and her legs tucked to protect her stomach.

"Take that! And that!" A voice shouted as they kicked Fumiko again.

A few people Fumiko couldn't see laughed in the background.

She was being bullied, if that wasn't obvious. Why? You might be wondering. Well, even Fumiko herself couldn't answer that question no matter how much she tried.

She guessed if it was anything it was because she was a bit different. Contrary to what her name meant, she was anything but beautiful.

She was what you would call ugly. On the shorter side, starting to gain a bit of fat even though she tries to walk it off or run it off it just doesn't seem to go away. Her hair was long and messy, often getting tangled making bits stick out, making people make fun of her saying it looked like she had horns, like a demon. Trust her, if she was a demon they would be the first to know about it, although technically they wouldn't because they would be dead.

Her face was one of the things she was the most insecure about. She had to wear glasses, had a bunch of freckles on her face and her cheeks were a bit chubby.

And then even if she tried to get herself in order, to make herself look better. Her bullies would just come along and beat the shit out of her.

Making Fumiko have almost constant bruises on her arms and legs.

Fumiko started to cry just thinking about it. Something she knew would only increase the insults towards her but she couldn't control it.

The bully stopped kicking her and looked down and listen to Fumiko crying. A sadistic smirk grew on the bullies face as she pulled out her phone and started to record.

"What are you doing, tubs? You crying?" She asked as she pelted Fumiko in the legs, making Fumiko's legs dig into her stomach which made her lose her breath. "To be honest, if I was you I would cry as well. But I'm not."

"...pl… please stop… stop, please…" Fumiko begged her bully.

Her bullies name was Suzue Yoshioka. She had tanned skin that looked natural on her despite it being from just sunbathing. With blonde hair and green eyes, she was one of the most beautiful girls in their school.

Unfortunately she had a terrible personality that she hid most of the time, but it came out whenever she bullied anyone.

"Huh?!" Suzue questioned as she put her foot on Fumiko. "Are you ordering me around?! Who do you think you are?!"

Then instead of the kicking from before she started stomping on Fumiko, something far worse in her opinion as it meant that the bruises were bigger and they left proper shoe marks.

"I'm sorry!" Fumiko shouted out pleading, hoping that Suzue would stop. But it didn't, if anything it almost encouraged her to keep stomping.

"Hey Suzue. It's starting to get late, if you keep doing this we won't be able to have any 'fun'." Her boyfriend called out from behind her as he sat on his bike.

He was Hideo Kamado. He was a top student as well, captain of the Judo club actually, with whom he hung around with you would think that he would just be some junkie lying in a dumpster waiting for his new high.

Suzue stopped, giving one last stomp and turning around to Hideo. "Of course." By now she had stopped recording Fumiko and her phone back in her pocket. "You want that video?" She asked innocently as she stared at Fumiko but asking the question to her boyfriend.

Fumiko looked at them from her position on the ground as she stayed in her curled up position until they left, in case Suzue came back and kicked her again. Or worse Hideo got involved and started hitting her. It had happened once and Fumiko still believed it was one of the worst beatings she had gotten her entire life.

Hideo looked curiously at Suzue but seeing the look in her eyes started making him excited so he agreed. "Yeah, sure. Maybe I should send it to some on the team, see if any of them get off on that shit." Hideo chuckled as he spoke.

Fumiko peaked her head out of her arms, despair swirling in her eyes. They were going to spread that? She might have anything exposed, but it was still embarrassing to be beaten up and then not being able to fight back and then have that posted everywhere.

"Please… don't…" Fumiko begged, she hated begging. But in this situation she had no choice but to beg, hoping that they wouldn't post it.

But what she wasn't ready for was Suzue charging at her and kicking her in the face.

By the time it had happened Fumiko was already flopping back onto the ground, losing consciousness.

"Fucking idiot." Hideo said, chuckling. He then got onto his bike and Suzue got on behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist, her hands coming close to 'it'. "Well, if you're that excited, I better hurry." Hideo said to Suzue who only chuckled softly and blew into his ear.

They zoomed away on hideos bike, while Fumiko lay on the concrete path in the cold of night. Nothing to protect her, keep her warm, except for her school uniform, which could possibly attract some unsavoury characters.

She stayed like that for hours, people who walked by her assumed she was either a prostitute, junkie, just plain homeless or all of the above.

When she finally started to gain consciousness her body was in the worst pain she had felt in a long time. Fumiko groaned in pain as she moved her hand to her jaw, which was where she was currently feeling the most pain.

She briefly touched her jaw before letting out a hiss at the touch of it.

When she looked up at the sky, trying to get a grasp on the time because of a lack of a phone, she got a general idea of how late it was. The night was pitch black, with the stars shining brightly.

She let out a sigh seeing that. She was once alone with her only friend, the starry night sky.

A cold burst of wind snapped Fumiko out of her musings. The wind seemed to carry words that comforted her as she properly sat up and leaned against the wall behind her.

She looked at her arms and legs and saw that bruising was already happening, with most of the aforementioned body parts covered in an ugly brown colour.

The wind started to pick up, possibly as a sign of a storm, getting a bit too fierce for Fumiko's liking. So, deciding that it probably wasn't the best idea to stay outside tonight especially with so little to cover her, she started to make her way back to the orphanage she was currently residing in.

She stood up and put her arms around herself to give her a bit of heat, but when she started moving away the wind picked up in speed and force and knocked her back to the ground.

Fumiko fell back onto the ground. She didn't get much more injuries except maybe a sore behind.

The wind carried the words of people, or a person, Fumiko couldn't tell. Allshe knew was that she heard someone calling out to someone, she didn't know what they were saying.

She figured she wouldn't be getting out of there anytime soon so she closed her eyes and focused on what they were saying. It took a while but eventually the voice started to become more clear. It seemed to her ears that it was a different language but maybe she knew it because it started to translate inside of her head after a few seconds.

While she was focused on translating it, seeing as she couldn't do anything else with this wind, the wind itself was starting to get more rough but it wasn't affecting Fumiko.

The reason for this was because it was starting to form a solid wall of wind around her. The inside of the ball of wind was completely silent except for Fumiko's breathing.

Then to the outside world a gust of wind came from the ball of wind which was dispelled and Fumiko was gone from the street.

Zerad looked down on the girl in front of him, she couldn't be older than a human in her teen years. But just by looking at her, he knew he had hit the jackpot with what he was looking for.

She had bruises covering most of her body and none of them were self-inflicted. She was fat with no muscles, meaning she was powerless. And she was ugly, ugly beyond belief. Zerad didn't know what the standard for beauty over there was, nor did he care, but he knew she would be near the bottom of it. She was perfect for his needs.

She opened her eyes and looked around in a scared fashion, she then saw Zerad. He was tall and handsome, with olive coloured skin and what she assumed was dyed blue hair.

"W-who are you? Where am I?" She asked rapidly, while backing away from Zerad.

Zerad only clicked his tongue walking towards Fumiko who was crawling away, but he caught her with ease. He then roughly grabbed her by her hair and started dragging her to another room.

"Let go!" Fumiko screamed in pain as she started kicking and scratching at Zerads hand, but it didn't affect him. He just continued to drag her through corridors as she tried to escape or stop him.

Eventually he threw her into a big metal container and closed the door behind her. Fumiko ran at the door and tried to shoulder charge it to forcibly open it, but instead all it did was hurt her shoulder, which was expected since it was a metal door.

Fumiko sat on the ground clutching her shoulder as tears started to pour out. "P-please… let me go… please… i'm begging you…" she said as Zerad looked into the container through a window on the door.

Instead of doing anything to help her he just pulled a leaver on the side of the machine. Making a buzzing sound rang out and smoke started to fill the container.

"Unfortunately for you, you're not going to leave this for a while. But when you do, you'll be my ultimate soldier." Zerad said, speaking down on her, like she wasn't even human. Although in reality he was speaking down on her because she was human.

Zerad walked a few steps away from the metal container. It should only take a few minutes at most and no pain would be caused to her considering the compatibility she should have with the Seven Orbs. After all, he had modified the spell to find the person who could best use the Seven Orbs and would have the most compatibility.

But instead of hearing silence, or just her useless begging, Zerad instead started to hear screams of pain. Blood curdling screams that would give any human nightmares, but not Zerad- No, he relished in that sound. But this wasn't the time or place he was supposed to hear it.

So in a panic, he went to the window of the container and looked in.

The human girl was on the ground, thrashing about as she clutched her head and screamed in pain. He heard some cracks and pops and afterwards her screams would always get louder.

But that couldn't be happening, Zerad thought incredulously. How could she be incompatible with the Seven Orbs?! She was supposed to be perfect!

He stepped back and just crossed his arms, waiting for the process to be over.

He couldn't stop it now. If he did the Orbs would be destroyed and lose their power, while she would be left a cripple before he killed her.

So, he just had to hope that his plan didn't fully go to waste and that she could combine with the Orbs and gain their powers.
