A buzzing sound was heard first, and then the air shimmered with glittering mana, forming frame after frame built from the formation below, until the edge met and fused at the peak of the dome.
After the barrier, it was a roaring sound. The whirl of even more magic formations got activated, sending a soft vibration throughout the ship. A single jolt marked the moment when the gigantic frame took off of the stone platform, wind belting beneath the hull and the spreading mechanical wings.
And then, we were flying.
I pressed my face at the cabin's window, peering down with wide, unblinking eyes. Jade flapped its wings and hovered beside my head, also looking out through beady green eyes.
[Master, Jade can't see things]
"I know, right? It'll be nice if we can see the ground getting further away..." I pursed my lips, staring at Natha through the reflection of the window.
