Change of Pace (Part 6)

Yu was resting on the bed that Trelawney had rested on. Her forehead felt hot to the touch and Trelawney knew that another ice pack was in order. "Another ice pack is needed, Eli." Trelawney tells Eli. It was Day 2 of Yu's fever and Trelawney was getting worried. Eli was getting worried as well, but he was sure that Trelawney could handle it. He kept watch over King Dai so Trelawney wouldn't get overworked by looking after two people. That was what happened to Queen Yu. He thought.

"She was overworked because of watching over two people at once." Eli tells Trelawney, bringing her another ice pack for Queen Yu. Trelawney put the ice pack on Yu's forehead and Yu groaned due to the new coldness being settled on her forehead.

"I know it's extremely cold, Mother, but you need it." Trelawney tells Yu, who shifted in her sleep. Eli gazed at the young woman, concerned.

"I hope her fever does break soon. The army is getting anxious without the King and now, the Queen is sick." Eli says, hugging Trelawney from behind. Trelawney giggled. Eli then remembered the Demon Law and he frowned. I have to marry her. I don't mind, but I still have to marry her because she's the first girl I've touched. Eli thought.

"-li? Eli?" Eli snapped out of his trance when he hears Trelawney calling him. "What's the matter? You've spaced out there for a moment." Trelawney says, cupping Eli's face. Eli placed his hand on top of hers.

"Nothing's wrong. I was just thinking about some things." Eli tells Trelawney, but he didn't elaborate because he didn't want to worry her. Trelawney smiled at Eli and he smiled back. I hope we can marry when she falls for me. He thought, feeling in his heart that Trelawney is his one and only. He felt that she was his mate. The Demon Law wouldn't even matter if Trelawney was his mate. The Demon Law didn't dictate the rules about mates and mating. It just dictated that demon soldiers will have to marry the first female being they touch, regardless of what race they are.

The royal family just dictate the Underworld and require that the citizens obey the laws that are set for them. Eli shook his head to stop thinking about the royal family. They weren't important. Heck, they were the reason by the Demon Council picked King Dai to be the next King. Nearly, every single one of the members of the family were consumed by greed for power and strength and the Demon Council didn't want to put a dictator on the throne. King Dai came from the lowest point in life and now he's the King for all of the demons to see.

Trelawney had sent Eli to fetch dinner for them while the army fetched their own food. When he had came back, Trelawney was waiting for him like a obedient wife waiting for her husband to get home. As Trelawney stared at the tall bull demon, she looked over her memories of two of them in the previous three weeks that they've known each other. She could feel it in her heart that Eli was the one for her and she knew that she was the one for Eli. She approached him after he set down the meat on the table that was built by the demons. She hugged him and Eli lifted her gently. Trelawney placed her hands on Eli's shoulders and Eli gently held her by her waist while she supported herself on his shoulders.

Trelawney and Eli stared at each other. Then, their faces moved closer to each other. Their breathing mingled with one another and as they closed their eyes in sync, their lips met. It was like fireworks had exploded. They continued to kiss until they ran out of oxygen. When the need for oxygen burned their bodies, they pulled away and they just stared at each other. They smiled smiles of content and love for each other. Trelawney knew she had founded her place with Eli and her new parents and Eli knew that he founded his mate in the form of Trelawney.

And, they were glad for that. They have founded each other when they needed to find each other.
