Chapter 46: I Won’t Back Down

Everyone met up in the hallway silently. It was time. It came upon them almost too quickly, everything building up to this yet Elanor for one moment felt her body stop working, as if ready to give out, give up, until she forced herself to move again.

No, not today. Maybe one day she could allow herself to rest but it wouldn’t be today.

“Alright, we’ll fly out of Elmore to the barrier of the capital. Keep an eye out in case there are any patrols, but we should be able to get up right next to it without being spotted. The next part will be the trickiest,” Elanor warned. “If I can get the barrier open for all of us, we’ll head to the palace where the array for the barrier. It’s located on the palace grounds inside one of the small cathedrals. There, I’ll disable it and hopefully you’ll all protect my backs while I do that.”

“And if we can’t get in through the barrier?” Mithmore asked.
