She isn't human

Eliana awoke the next day to the familiar space of her bedroom. Her brows pulled together due to a splitting headache caused by the rush of fragmented images into her memory but she could never fully piece together or make out what there were.

Leaving the bed, she decided to make preparations to begin the day. Just as her feet made contact with the ground, she noticed the person sitting beside the bed, asleep.

"Why wouldn't you lie on the bed rather than stay in this position? It is harmful to you." Eliana muttered only to her hearing. She had no memory of what happened after they visited the Riverside Club, or how they returned to her apartment

"Li," she called, gently tapping on her shoulder. Lilian raised her head with a yawn and a lazy stretch.

"Where are we?" Lilian asked. She then scanned the surroundings. "Oh… it's your bedroom."

"Why didn't you sleep on the bed? It is big enough to be shared," Elian asked with a small frown.

"I do not remember how I got here, but that is no surprise, it is not the first time this has happened," Lilian replied. "I am hungry…" she trailed off and looked at the space beside the window. "Elia…"

"I know," Eliana said. She also stared at the same spot where she could see a silhouette, unlike Lilain who could only feel the presence. "Who are you?" she asked but the silhouette walked through the wall and disappeared.

Eliana ran to the window and looked outside but found no one.

"What was it?" Lilian asked. The bit of sleep that was left in her was gone and forgotten.

"I am not sure. It looked like an apparition though," Eliana replied. Whatever it was, it harbored no evil intentions but the purpose for its visit troubled her.

"The happenings around you get weirder every day, Elia. Your gifts and abilities make me wonder if you are some Celestial who accidentally fell to earth and got amnesia and then your abilities receded." Lilian joked standing to her feet. "I am hungry, the appearance of an apparition didn't take that away."

"Give me a moment to fix my hair, it looks worse than a bird's nest," Eliana said, staring at her reflection in the mirror. "Say, do you remember what happened last night? There are fragments of images in my mind that I do not recognize."

"We will find out soon, for now, I am too hungry to think," Lilian replied and walked out of the room leaving Elia to her thoughts.

There was only one image that she could see vividly and that was because it is similar to an old existing memory. "Who is he?" Eliana questioned herself. Growing up, that image seemed to have been imprinted into her mind. She had never forgotten him and she concluded that he was just a figment of her imagination.

But now it was different, a different, yet similar image was there, adding another layer of mystery to the previous one.

She walked around the room searching for a piece of paper and a pen or pencil. She needed to ask around to know who that man could be.

A while later, Eliana joined Lilian in the kitchen with two pieces of paper in hand.

"You took your precious time just to fix your hair," Lilian stated. She turned around and raised a brow. The hair that was supposed to be fixed was still as it was when she left the room.

"I'll fix it later. Here, take a look at these and tell me if you have ever encountered any of them." Eliana said and placed on the island counter the papers where she had sketched the images.

"Handsome, who are they? Wait… it's the same person," Lilian asked. Her brows pulled together into a frown as she tried to remember ever having an encounter with someone as good-looking as him.

"I thought as much but their eyes are different. I am certain there was no contacts," Eliana said and Lilian just stared at her, not sure what to say.

"What are the colors?" Lilian asked. They could be twins but then one of them could have been seen somewhere.

"Crimson orbs, " she said and touched the first one with long dark hair. And this one… obsidian. I do not know who they are." She said the last line when Lilian gave her a suspicious look.

"I will ask around. A few friends should know at least one of them if they exist. But hunks like these two, no one would ever forget them. I know I won't," Lilian said with a smile and a dreamy look in her eyes. "It could be the same person and perhaps he is as weird as you. You see things, and his eyes change colors, it won't be a surprise to me after all that I have seen happen around you." Lilian shrugged.

She wouldn't be surprised if one day she woke up and found Eliana with wings behind her back, suspended in the air.

They grew up in the same orphanage and had seen and experienced many bizarre things whenever she was near Eliana. There were also times when they would wake without a memory of what happened the night before they slept just like today.

"I should move in with you, so when all the exciting things happen, I will know and cover it all for a good blog post. We could hunt ghosts or whatever it that you see. It will be exciting." Lilian said, already making out the plans in her head.

"Just let me know if you find anything. Finding him alone is more stressful than I had thought," Eliana said. She didn't care if she lived alone or shared her apartment with a friend, it was big so she could stay.

"That is why I love you, you never say no to me," Lilian beamed.

"Lord Helios," the one whose silhouette Eliana had seen, greeted.

"What did you find, Raye?" Helios asked.

"It was as you had said, My Lord, her friend did go to her after leaving the club." The creature called Raye replied.

"And..?" He urged.

"It was as she had said, they do not remember the events of the night. And she was able to see me. I believe she isn't human, My Lord," he said, giving his thoughts to it.

"You may leave," Helios dismissed.
