The Conductor

(Rody)

Rody lay flat on his stomach and began crawling along the top of the car shelter. Below him, he could hear the sound of a couple Deathless groaning as they staggered forward in the same direction as him. From their movement, he figured that the Deathless were all going towards B block. He knew then that they were about to start forming the mound. Realizing he didn't have much time, he began crawling faster at the risk of making slightly more noise.

Out of concern, Rody turned back without stopping to see that he had really pulled ahead of Samantha. She seemed to be having difficulty in crawling along like he was. Rody raised his hand indicating for her to stay here. He then tapped himself in the chest twice and pointed towards the B block building.

Samantha shook her head and began crawling more aggressively.

"Sam." Rody whispered, catching her attention. He then forcefully pushed his hand in her direction and mouthed the word "stay there."
