Hostaging Madam

Having no time to celebrate my success of hitting my master, I drive my car down the hill. In another five minutes, I arrive in front of Mr. Rauss' residence.

Wasting not a second, I go out of the car and breach into the house. I know where she is. We have a secret place for hiding when there is trouble outside. I'm sure she heard the commotion outside, so I'm sure she is in that secret place.

I go to Mr. Rauss' office then twist a candle holder on top of the fireplace. The glass cover of fireplace then opened, showing me Mrs. Rauss who is hiding there.

"Quint !" She shouts in surprised.

"Come out !" I bark her, pointing my gun at her.

"Don't hurt..."

"Come out! Now !!"

Slowly Mrs. Rauss comes out of the fireplace with her arms up beside her ears.

To my surprise, she is not alone. There is a boy, maybe merely two or three years, crying in squat position inside the fireplace.

"Please... don't hurt him," Mrs. Rauss begs me. I ignore her begging. Even if she didn't beg, I have no intention to hurt the child.

I grab Mrs. Rauss, pointing my gun onto her head then close the secret place again.

"Move !" I tell her while pushing her body to move. Still with her arms beside her ears, a gun on her head, Mrs. Rauss walks before me while my other hand is holding her shoulder.

When I just closed the front door someone shouts from a far, "Joanna !!"

"Derrick !"

My master who stands few meters from us, holding his bleeding stomach, limping toward us.

"Don't move or I shoot !!" I say to him, pressing my gun harder to Mrs. Rauss's head as a threat. My master immediately halts his steps.

"Quint.." He hisses. He's about to make a move, grabbing something on his back, but I shoot his hand. "Aaaaargh!"

"Don't." I say to him shortly before dragging Mrs. Rauss to my car.

"Joanna !!"

"It's okay, Derrick. It's okay," Mrs. Rauss says to my master before I push her into my car. While I cuff both of her legs together and both of her hands to the solid iron handle on the dashboard in front of her, she continues saying to my master, "Derrick.. Maxwell.. he's in fireplace."

I shut the car door up. I then point my gun to my master again and shoot both of his legs before go inside my car and drive it away.

"Where are you going to bring me ?" Mrs. Rauss asks.

"Headquarter," I say shortly.

"It's ten hours..."

"Shut up !" I cut her.

"Look, we didn't mean to hurt her.."

"I say: SHUT. UP !!" I bark to her. I remember her talent. She is a persuader. So her words are dangerous.

"Quint... We just want... need... we need you back,"

"If I hear you utter a single word again, I will blow your mouth !" I threat her.

"Quint.."

"Aaaaauch!" She shrieks. I shoot my gun, deliberately aim it to scratch her cheek. The bullet then break the window beside her.

"The next bullet will go through your mouth," I say to her.

Knowing I mean my threat, Mrs. Rauss finally shuts her mouth. She just presses her wounded cheek with her shoulder and stares at me.

"Wake up !" I bark to the sleeping Mrs. Rauss. Woman that I used to call 'Mommy' slowly opens her eyes.

"We almost there," I say. without leaving my sight from the road.

It's been a long journey. I drive for over 9 hours non-stop from Rauss residence to this place. A small solitude area right below a mountain 20 miles from city T.

Ten minutes later, my car arrives at an edge of a forest. I stop my car when about a dozen of men wearing black suits and masks block the road.

A man walks approach my side of car. I turn down my window. The man is shocked to see Mrs. Rauss, "Ma... Ma... Madam," he hisses but then immediately point his gun on me when he saw wound on her cheek. The others, like being signaled, also point their guns toward me.

I turn my head toward Mrs. Rauss. "Well... ?"

"Put your guns down," Mrs. Rauss orders him in firm tone. "He is a guest."

"Ye... Yes, Madam!" In stuttered the man obey her. He then signaling the other guards to put their gun down and even let my car through.

"Let us in," Mrs. Rauss says again. The man nods and steps a back while talking to his radio.Soon, I leave the gate of Headquarter.

If you think that is a lame security, it is not. First of all, the small road I just left is the only way. Al though the forest is vast, no one can enter the forest from any other side. It is protected with invisible shield that can not be pierced through. Secondly, the security is not only those dozen guards.

With the tail of my eyes, I glance at creatures that are standing right at the side of road. Yes, they are the real security. Lions, elephants, cheetahs, bears, wolves, not to mention snakes, lizards, spiders, and other venomous creatures. They are all trained, or more likely controlled, to guard the entrance area. They are only standing there because my car is already permitted to enter the area. If not... it can be assured that I am already dead inside my totally crushed car, that's to be the least. Worse, I might be the snack of either the lions, cheetahs, pythons, or maybe bears.

"Where is she ?" I ask Mrs. Rauss.

"Health facility," Mrs. Rauss answers.

I drive my car to the West side of the forest. This is not an ordinary forest. This forest replicates the rain forest that supposed only exist in equator region. The trees are big, high, and dense that cover everything below them.

The road then leads me to an old abandon fortress around ten minutes later. I stop my car right in front of the fortress then come out of the car. I unlock Mrs. Rauss cuff from the dashboard then tell her to walk before me.

We stop at a mossy pillar. "Olympos," Mrs. Rauss utters to the pillar.

After that, the pillar reveals a hole. Mrs. Rauss encloses her eyes to the hole. A laser light appears from the pillar to scan her eyes.

"Welcome, Madam," a robotic voice is heard not long after. "Do you bring guest ?"

"One guest," Mrs. Rauss replies. She then shift her body aside.

I enclose the pillar and put my eye to the hole. It scans my eye before saying, "Welcome, Scott Bennet. Used to be known as Deathstalker, pronounce dead..."

"Enough," Mrs. Rauss cuts the robot's explanation. "Let us in."

"At your service, Madam."

A second later the front door of the fortress that has rusty hinges is opened. I push Mrs. Rauss to walk before me, entering the fortress.

Inside the fortress is nothing like the outdoor. It is clean and futuristic with glass walls and tiles all over it. Some men and women walk around with white gowns. there are stunned to see Mrs. Rauss, even more with a gun pointed on her head.

"It's okay," Mrs. Rauss said in calm tone.

She then leads us to the elevator. The elevator brings us to the underground level. Once we arrive at the underground level, Mrs. Rauss leads me to a part of the facility deep inside it. I don't know where she leads me. I have never, or if I had I don't remember, been here. Maybe she leads me to where the mutants gather. I don't care. I have come this far, I will take all the risk.

Mrs. Rauss stops and turns her body to the left. I follow her gaze. Behind the glass wall in front of me there is a room, full with medical machines. Two men are inside it wearing white gowns. The machines are attached to someone who is laying on a bed.

"Jen !!"

At instance I run and breach in the room. But then I am held by an invisible wall while an alarm suddenly buzzing in, "GERMS DETECTED !! GERMS DETECTED !!"

"No !! Let me in !! Let me in !!" I hit the invisible wall, trying hard to force in.

"Quint... Quint... Calm Down !!" Mrs. Rauss holds my shoulder and pulls it so I can face her.

"Let me in !" I order her, pointing my gun again toward her.

"You can come in," She says calmly. "You just need to be sterilized from germs and bacterias. If not, you will endanger her life."

I stun. It takes me a couple of minutes to process her words. "Sterilize me then," I say to her.

I felt that I wrote a long journey in this chapter, but turn out it is not as long as I predicted. But I hope you enjoy the ride to headquarter ^_^
