Kent went on. “I was really excited when I saw it was you. I enjoyed our shoot yesterday. I was hoping we’d get to work together again. I didn’t expect it to be this soon.”
Jordan nodded again.
“Glad you made it. Henderson’s tearing out what little hair he’s got. He was about to try to replace you with one of the other guys. That would’ve really bummed me out.
“Um—you were busy yesterday, but maybe today, if you don’t have plans, we could go out for a drink when we’re done. What do you say?”
Before Jordan could answer, Stan Henderson, the director and owner of the studio, came up to the two men. Jordan had been repeatedly warned Henderson wasn’t in the best of moods. Now he saw it for himself. He could tell the man was in a real snit! Jordan’s resolve to quit wavered. Maybe he’d just do this shoot and then tell Henderson he was finished. With the mood Henderson was in, that could avoid a messy confrontation.
