Once inside, Lisa took control of the conversation.
"We need to drop off the fingerprint paper at the police lab and update Chief Carr. I set up an appointment with Attorney Whithers for one o'clock. Then it's up to you whether we do the house or office. I'm leaning more to the office thinking your parents wouldn't want something like that to be found lying around, especially with you still in the house."
"That's my thinking as well. But we'll really need to go through everything because it could have been misfiled on purpose. I've had clients do that before. One of them found their client's will in the folds of an old newspaper.
"What we're looking for is a large payment, maybe made payable to a lawyer or to cash. I like the idea of the lawyer. It doesn't muddy my parent's hands so much. I still can't believe they could have sold him. What kind of parents could do that?"
