14 And I Start Knowing You...

Alexa was feeling much better after getting a quick bath and changing to nightwear with Maya's help. Zoe jumps on her bed and cuddles Alexa. "I want to sleep with Sissy" Zoe informs Maya and tugs him into blanket. Alexa and Maya couldn't say no after seeing his puppy face. "Fine kiddo, you can sleep with me but I don't know any bedtime stories so let Maya stay until you fall asleep." To which Zoe nods yes.

He hugs Alexa on her laps and Maya starts reading bedtime stories to him. Alexa clucks after releasing that he has dozed off to sleep in just five minutes. She shifts him to other side of the bed carefully and tugs the blanket properly. Maya takes leave after wishing good night to Alexa. "Oh no, I must have asked Maya to help me with coffee ingredients at least. I can't sleep without it. No worries let me figure it out." Alexa whispers to herself and walks out of the room quietly.

They had an open kitchen next to the hall. She walks to the kitchen slab and starts opening the drawer to gather the things. "Ok, here is the vessel, milk is in the fridge, great got coffee as well but where is sugar..." She whisper to herself while picking up the things. She was busy opening the drawers when suddenly someone hands over the sugar box to her. She gets up and turns back while saying "Thank you...." "Mr...Mr. Reo" Alexa gets shocked after finding him standing behind her. "I am sorry if I disturbed you with the sounds, actually I don't get sleep without having coffee at night." Alexa tries to explain herself. Before she could speak further was interrupted by Reo.

"Here are the cups, I prefer strong coffee with one spoon of sugar. The stove is on your left, mind your hands as it's automatic and attached to the slab." Reo coughs and speaks in polite tone.

Alexa keeps gazing at Reo's face still trying to figure if she was dreaming as this was the first time this arrogant man has addressed her in such polite way.

"Any problem", Reo waves his hand infront of Alexa's eyes as she was not blinking for a minute now.

*Cough* "Ah...no nothing Mr. Reo, let me prepare the coffee." Alexa turns back and starts preparing the coffee.

Reo walks towards the sofa and pretend to read a magazine which was lying on the sofa but he was actually sitting there to peak an eye on Alexa who was looking super tempting to him in her nightwear. After so many years of breakup with his girlfriend, Alexa was the first one to make his heart feel this warm.

Alexa prepares the coffee and walks towards Reo holding both the coffee mugs. "Mr. Reo, Here you go" Alexa places the strong coffee mug on the table infront of Reo. "Thank you Ms. Alexa and please address me as Reo."

"That's not a problem and you too please call me Alexa." She smiles while sipping her coffee.

"If you don't mind let sit outside in the back lawn, you will like it but before that is your leg ok? Can you walk? Else we can sit her itself." Reo invites Alexa to the back lawn which was attached with the hall. To which Alexa nods in positive "I am fine now, thanks to Maya and yourself for taking care of me". Both gets up and walks out till the lawn.

It was one of the dark night with no moon and just few stars in the sky, they had dim light placed in the lawn which added beauty to the night.

They both sat on the stairs itself.

Alexa shiver a bit after feeling a cold breeze suddenly. Reo was watching her "Do you want to go inside." He speaks out suddenly.

"No it's fine, it's pleasant here" She holds her warm mug in both the hands and sip the coffee while watching the stars.

"By the way, I like the coffee it's exactly of my taste" Reo praises her with a smile.

"I am sorry for the behavior earlier. I am very protective towards Zoe and thus who ever tries to come to close to him, I take them as a threat. You know right one should not trust someone so easily" Reo starts the conversation.

Alexa smiles and continues the talk.

"Actually you are right, parents do care for their children a lot and I can see in your eyes that you a great father."

Reo blushes after hearing compliment from Alexa but tries to hide it.

"Let's start again. My name is Reo, an International Singer and a single parent. No interest in girls as had enough and want to raise Zoe without any issues. Tries to make sure to give enough time to Zoe" Reo stretch out his hand towards Alexa after completing his intro.

Alexa chuckles and returns the handshake.

"I am Alexa, a member of known but not so famous band in Japan. Our band name is "Night Angels" Lost my parents in early stage. I am a divorcee with no kids. For me Love and family is my band mates and singing", she completes the last sip of her coffee while running through her intro.

"Divorcee. You were married but you look so young" Reo speaks out suddenly in shock.

"Haha...I lost my parents in an early stage and it was my grandparents who supported me after them. When I was still graduating they got an alliance for me and got married after getting my first job, but lesser we knew that I will be back to them in just six months". Reo could see a fake disheartened smile on Alexa's face while saying these words.

"Six months, mind sharing with me further" Reo speaks out much politely in tone as was curious to know further.

Alexa usually didn't like sharing these things with anyone but there was something different today, probably she felt a connect with Reo and thus nods positively to his request.

"I got married after I joined my first job, I still wanted to support my grandparents by sending them money but my in-laws and husband didn't liked it. It started with verbal abuse and then things turned out weird in few weeks when they starting using different ways to torture me. He would often come drunk at late night and then force me to sleep with him" Alexa throat started getting chocked and she gulped her saliva to continue further but Reo stopped her as could see her eyes getting teary.

"That's ok, don't explain further" Reo gives side hug to her and pats slowly on her shoulder.

She felt relaxed with his touch and takes a deep breathe. "Uff...I am sorry, have bored you with my story. It was going all good and I spoiled the ambiance." Alexa bites her lips while feeling sorry for the boredom caused by her.

Reo hits her on forehead and chuckles "It's ok to speak about the bothering memories that only helps it to fade out" He takes away the mug from Alexa's hand and starts walking inside.

"It was nice talking with you Alexa. Have a nice sleep. Don't bother to get up early as it's Sunday and we don't have practice tomorrow. And leave these mugs, I will take care of it" Reo smiles and wishes good night to Alexa.

"Good night Reo, it was nice talking with you" she smiles back and walks towards her room.

Alexa after reaching to her room walks slowly towards the bed and tugs herself inside the blanket. "He is not that bad, I misunderstood him". She turns towards Zoe and hugs him and dozes off to sleep.

On the other hand, Reo watched Alexa back until she went inside her room and then walks upstairs towards his room. After reaching his room he lies down on his bed and thinks about the conversation with Alexa few minutes back "I never knew she had such a heartbreaking past, I have been rough with the silly girl and she never complained back. All she had was a lovely smile on her face which covered all these pains without anyone's knowledge".

He felt a pain in his heart after remembering Alexa's words from evening when he spoke about her character and she replied with teary eyes "Mr. Reo, what wrong have I done to you for you to think so low of me."

"I am sorry Alexa, have misunderstood you very wrongly". He whisper in low voice while watching Alexa's pic in his phone. He didn't realize but tears where already falling down from his eyes for no reason. (May be because he has started falling for her). It was already late at night when he dozed off to sleep.
