Chapter Eleven: The Beginning of Coexistence

Last night, I stayed up all night battling in my game, and managed to level up my character by one level. I sighed at my computer, wondering why games nowadays are so demanding. Just when you're about to level up, it requires so much time and effort, diminishing the satisfaction of leveling up. And to make matters worse, some games have level caps; once you reach a certain level, you can't level up anymore. Why not set the level cap at 1000 or 2000, so I could find more comfort in facing the computer all night? (You could say I'm quite the gamer.)

I was rudely awakened by the urge to pee, not knowing what time of day it was. After using the bathroom, I grabbed my toothbrush to start brushing my teeth, only to hear a loud yell from behind me: "Stop…!" The sudden sound startled me, and I turned around to see a beautiful yet angry face.

"First, your attire doesn't meet the requirements, covering less than 30% (because I was only wearing shorts)," said Rán Jìng, glaring at me with her already large eyes widened.

"Oh, right, there's now a beautiful girl in this room. I haven't quite gotten used to living with a girl yet," I thought to myself. I glanced at my bare upper body and grinned, "I'm not bad-looking, am I?"

After dressing appropriately, I saw a ready-made meal on the dining table, feeling incredibly fortunate. Not only did I have a beautiful girl living with me, but she also cooked for me. Such good fortune could only be attributed to my past virtues or the miseries I'd endure in the next life. As soon as I sat down to eat, Rán Jìng rushed over, shielding the food with her arms and declaring, "No eating for you."

"Why not? I promise to follow rule number six and finish everything," I said cheekily, remembering the rules. "Just because you broke three rules this morning doesn't mean I can't eat," I added, sneakily grabbing a plate of food from her "protection zone."

"You sneaky little… If you want to eat, you have to agree to one condition," Rán Jìng said, quickly changing tactics.

"Go ahead, what's the condition?" I replied, munching on food.

"Today, I want to take a break, and you have to accompany me shopping," she demanded, her eyes fixed on me to ensure my agreement.

"That's it? Consider it done," I said, realizing that shopping with a beautiful girl was one of my guilty pleasures. "Let's go, I'll carry your bags," I offered, making her feel like she was accompanying me rather than the other way around.

We spent the day wandering through the busiest streets and most famous malls in the city. Rán Jìng's favorite part was trying on clothes, accessories, and makeup. Encouraged by me, she adorned herself with one outfit after another, each enhancing her beauty in its own way. Whether she was trying on clothes for a fashion show or simply enjoying herself, I was content to watch her and occasionally offer my opinion.

After a long day of shopping, Rán Jìng announced that she was tired and refused to budge. I suggested resting at a jewelry counter, but she insisted we couldn't sit there without buying anything. Despite her initial reluctance, she eventually agreed and we found ourselves sitting with a saleswoman, surrounded by dazzling diamonds.

"Sir, your girlfriend is so beautiful. With the addition of a diamond, she'd be perfect," the saleswoman remarked, her sweet voice and attractive appearance making my heart race.

"I think you'd look just as stunning with one," I joked, unable to resist teasing.

As I glanced at Rán Jìng to see her reaction, the saleswoman suddenly said, "Your girlfriend left."

Back home, Rán Jìng didn't say a word to me, and I didn't dare initiate a conversation. She quickly retreated to "her room," while I found myself bored and retreated to my study. However, today I didn't have the mood to continue my game. Lying alone in bed, I pondered over a few things: firstly, Rán Jìng didn't deny the saleswoman's address to her as my girlfriend, and secondly, she seemed to care about what I said, showing signs of jealousy. Hmm, perhaps…
