Chapter 21

Feng Jiu decided to follow Qingti and stay in the hospital for a night to rest. Qingti went out and buy some food for her to be nourished and especially now that she's pregnant. She felt ecstatic knowing she's going to have a baby. It still feels surreal to her. She touched her still flat abdomen and gazed at it then smiled and said in a soft whisper,

"Did I hurt you little pea? I am sorry if mommy is not herself for the past few days. I'll make sure to eat as long as you'll be healthy and fine." Feng Jiu caressed her abdomen. She felt giddy. She's excited when tomorrow comes and she's planning now on how to tell it to her husband. Then the door opened and she saw Qingti came inside with a bag of food and some fruits.  He held it up and smiled at her. Feng Jiu smiled back at her best friend.

"Thank you for always being my saviour Qingti. I'm so indebted to you now. How can I make it up to you again? "

After Qingti put all the food and fruits on the table, he walked and stop beside Feng Jiu's bed and as usual, he caressed her hair and said,

"How about getting healthy first before paying me back? I'll stay with you okay? I tried calling your husband again but... "

Feng Jiu lowered her eyes to hide the disappointment and hurt but to Qingti, he can read Feng Jiu's face like a book.

"Okayyyy sweet girl how about food? I don't know what you want but there are lasagna, burger and fruits. Which do you like? "

Feng Jiu's eyes grow wide when she heard Qingti said lasagna. It seems that her little pea wants lasagna too. Qingti saw the sparkling eyes of Feng Jiu and he smiled. At least he successfully made Feng Jiu forget her worthless husband for a bit. So Qingti prepared the food for the soon mother to be.

Feng Jiu decided to visit her husband in Dijun Empire building. Qingti decided to tag along too and Feng Jiu wants to formally introduce Ye Qingti to her husband.  She doesn't like that her best friend and her husband have a misunderstanding and she likes to correct this now.

"Hi, I wanted to visit Dong Hua Dijun."

Feng Jiu smiled brightly towards the female receptionist who just stared at her with the obvious surprise look the receptionist's face.

"Uhm... Do you have an appointment with the CEO? " the receptionist politely asked. Feng Jiu bit her lip but then replied,

"No, but I'm... " she stopped realizing that the public knows nothing of Dong Hua and her being married. So she just smiled and said instead,

"...that'll be fine. Sorry to disturb you."

Feng Jiu fished out in her bag her phone and dialled Zhong Lin's number.

"Hello? "

"Hi, Zhong Lin. It's me Feng Jiu. I want to visit Dong Hua but I don't have an appointment with him. What should I do? "

She heard Zhong Lin laughed a bit then he replied,

"I'll take care of it, Madame. I'll inform the receptionist just to let you come up. " Feng Jiu smiled widely and said her thanks before ending the call. After a minute or two, the receptionist informed her that she can go up and also apologized. She just smiled back at the receptionist and told her its okay.

Feng Jiu walked excitedly towards the elevator and was lost in her thoughts trying to come up for a plan in surprising her husband.

But it was Feng Jiu that got surprised. Feng Jiu felt betrayed. In front of her is the betrayal she never saw coming. Su Ji Heng is on the lap of  Dong Hua whose hands are at Ji Heng's chest and the two are kissing passionately. She felt her heart broke and shattered to pieces. Her world stopped and she can't breathe. Her sight darkened and her whole body shook in so much anger.

Feng Jiu rushed towards the pair who is oblivious to her entrance and rage and what she did is used her bag to violently beat Dong Hua's head. She didn't saw Ji Heng who was also surprised and covered herself while Dong Hua stood and clothes dishevelled. A clear sign of the betrayal he did with Ji Heng. Dong Hua tried to stop the onslaught of attack from Feng Jiu. He didn't expect her to come. It's as if he had seen her for the first time. He tried to touch Feng Jiu but it brought another surprise when Feng Jiu slapped him hard. He felt the weight of her anger there. And then, he saw her crying silently. The endless waterfall of tears cascading on her cheeks. 

Feng Jiu's heartbeat and blood pounded hard on her. She's trying to calm down herself. She needs to remember that her pregnancy is still in the early stages and she's in a delicate situation. She closed her eyes still feeling deeply hurt at what she witnessed. Too late now. The image of Ji Heng on Dong Hua's lap is already etched in her mind. When she opened her eyes, she decided that she had enough of this. She had enough of Dong Hua's fickleness. She slowly took off her wedding ring. Followed by her engagement ring and she eyed Dong Hua, hatred can be seen in her eyes.

"I've sacrificed a lot for you since I have loved you. I chose you over my family because I believed in you but in the end... You betrayed me. Is this how you show your love?" Feng Jiu said in a whisper.

She looked at Dong Hua who has an unreadable face and she felt very bitter. Dong Hua is not saying anything. What has really happened between them?  Why is Dong Hua treating her coldly?

Feng Jiu steeled herself and her emotions. Even if Dong Hua and I broke up, I'll still have you my little pea. She thought to herself.

"You're not saying anything? You'll just stand there and look at me? Is that it?" Feng Jiu waited for Dong Hua to speak but he never uttered a word or even a squeak. She smiled bitterly. Then her phone rang. She fished her phone inside her bag and while eyes still on Dong Hua she answered her phone and just said,

"Come and get me. I don't want to stay anymore. " and she turned off her phone.

"Cat got your tongue now Dong Hua? Where are your promises now huh?"

Then she heard Ji Heng spoke,

"Aren't you an outsider? What are you doing here barging in someone else's office building? "

"And what are you doing in someone else's lap? You are in my husband's lap," she replied calmly. 

"Husband? " Ji heng asked. It is obvious that the woman doesn't have any inkling that she and Dong Hua got married. She smiled sweetly back at Ji Heng and she slowly walked towards her and said in a quiet yet venomous tone,

"Yes, Su Ji Heng. Husband. He dragged me and married me and also, had our secret yet lavish wedding ceremony in Maldives. "

Feng Jiu slapped Ji Heng hard that it echoed through the whole office of Dong Hua. Then she felt Dong Hua's arms pulling her away from Ji Heng. Feng Jiu closed her eyes. Dong Hua's actions, Feng Jiu interpreted it as another betrayal from him. She tried to wiggle out of him yet he didn't release her.

"That's enough Feng Jiu! " he said in a loud voice and Feng Jiu turned to him pushed him hard but to no avail.

"Let me go, Dong Hua. I'll not attack your mistress again! " she replied with the same tone he used.

Then to their surprise an arm connected to Dong Hua's face which resulted in Dong Hua letting go of Feng Jiu. Feng Jiu stared at Dong Hua on the floor with blood on the side of his mouth. Feng Jiu instinctively went to Dong Hua but stopped when she realized that she shouldn't attend to him. She hardened her resolve and she looks at the person who knocked Dong Hua and there, she saw for the very first time the angry and red face of her best friend Ye Qingti. Her tears started to spill. When Qingti started to move to knock Dong Hua again, she stopped Qingti by hugging his waist and she released a sob.

Qingti on the other hand realized that Feng Jiu is still there and so he stopped. He looked at Feng Jiu who was looking at him with tears on her eyes and her cheeks. He remembered that she is having a very delicate pregnancy and she mustn't undergo some stress. Qingti closed his eyes and controlled his brewing anger. He slowly put his hand down that is ready to knock Dong Hua again. His free arm wounded around Feng Jiu's shoulders and he wiped the tears that spilt. He is hurting seeing the sweet girl he knew hurting this much. He gave Feng Jiu a small smile and said quietly,

"Let's get out of here sweet girl. I'll send you home."

Qingti saw Feng Jiu nodded. Feng Jiu throw Dong Hua a last look before she opened her palms and she looked at the two rings she received from him and said in a dispassionate voice,

"I give you up Dong Hua Dijun. May our paths do not cross in the future. "

Then Feng Jiu let the rings fell off her palm and turned her back on Dong Hua. Feng Jiu went out of the office followed by Qingti and then they met Lian Song, Zhong Lin and Siming outside the office of Dong Hua. She stopped and said looking at Lian Song,

"I trusted you yet you lied to me. " Feng Jiu throw an accusing look towards Lian Song in which Lian Song only lowered his head in shame. She walked towards the elevator and then she felt dizzy again. Luckily Qingti is there who assisted her.

"Xiaobai!" they heard Dong Hua shouted and good thing that both her and Qingti are already in the elevator and Qingti quickly pressed the elevator door to close and before the elevator door closed, she saw an angry Dong Hua storming towards them.

"Are you alright sweet girl? Do you need to go back to the hospital? You look very pale." Feng Jiu glanced at Qingti with genuine worry etched in his handsome face. She smiled bitterly. If only she fell for her bestfriend first, she wouldn't be suffering like this. She bitterly thought.

"Why have I not fell for you Qingti? " she asked. Qingti smiled bitterly back at her and then he just caressed Feng Jiu's arm.

"Because in your heart, I'll always be your best friend sweet girl. I'll always be your best friend Ye Qingti. "

Unconsciously Feng Jiu squeezed Qingti's hand and she smiled sadly.
