Reject him

The king was caught of guard by his queen. She was not one to apologise to anyone so easily or give her rights away to someone else for no good reason. It was a cause for worry now that she had done so.

His sister was coming back to the palace with a groom that she had chosen and Marcus was left in charge of everything. Knowing his sister well, Marcus handling the wedding arrangements will make her angry and mad. She had a temper just like his mother's and both were impossible to deal with without his queen by his side.

He understood what his queen was up to by giving up all that belonged to her to Marcus. She wasn't trying to prove to him that she was wrong but rather pointing out a fact that he already knew.

"Wait," he shouted to queen. Reina stopped in her tracks, Morpheus got up from his seat and took steady steps towards his queen. All the things that they had both gone through together to get to where they were flashed before his eyes.

It was true that she evil and cunning when she got crossed but she was the only person that ever stuck with him through thick and thin. He wouldn't be the man that he was if she wasn't by his side every step of the way to help him.

"I am the one who should say sorry," he uttered.

All his wives weren't surprised. It was not like the king to stay angry at his queen for long, it didn't matter what she did, the king had a soft spot for her and never let the sun set before making up with her.

Reina thought that it would take whole week to get the king back but to her surprise it only took minutes. She felt happy hearing his apology, even though she was wrong he took the liberty to apologize to her and she couldn't be happier.

The king clenched his hand into a fist, playing the game of chess was his cup of tea and to deal with the queen one had to play their cards well. She was a great influence in the palace and practically controlled the whole place.

It was dangerous to play against her hence he chose not to. "Will you please forgive me," he asked to her and hugged her from the back. His skin itched when he got into contact with her, it was because that she was not his marked partner that he wasn't comfortable being so close to her.

Reina's happiness faded away feeling how uncomfortable the king was while hugging her. It made her very angry that all because of Marcus she couldn't be with him. She pulled away from the king. No one noticed what had gone down, she turned around and glared at him.

"Reject him," she whispered to him and walked out of the room angrily. Her words rung in the king's ear. He was caught between a rock and a hard place, on the one hand was his queen who he couldn't touch because of the mark and on the other hand was the bearer of the mark who was also hurting.

Two dear hearts were at stake and he couldn't see which heart he should save and which one will be broken. He looked back to the queen's seat where Marcus sat. he saw the confused look in his eyes, he seemed to be lost in thought.

"Meeting dismissed," he announced. He had thought that he would get to punish Reina for the way that she had behaved with him and would reduce her to same helpless condition that he was in but he was the one who ended helpless.

All the queen's walked out of the room, their hearts filled with disappointment, they had thought that they had finally witnessed the day that the queen fell from grace to grass but that was not so. She fell and rose, the queen who can get the king to apologize to her in public. Truly Reina had proved to be more powerful that they expected her to be.

Marcus was winning until he lost, it proved that nothing could really change the king and queen's relationship. Not a mark and not new love or infatuation.
