Following the script

Despite his lack of effort to maintain the conversation with his uncle ,and the heavy emotional tone, his uncle had left with a small smile

Most likely having convinced himself of things that aren't there.

Beside the fact that he, himself was untrustworthy, most of the times it's your own eyes and ears that betray you.

You see things that aren't actually there, you hear things that twist the very fabric of space and time.

It's intriguing how much your own mind betrays you and how much one actually relies on it, trusting upon it.

He was not much different, flaws present in each and every single being.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Adrian placed his black dagger in the folds of his clothes.

There was little time for a rest or a thought as he could hear Nigel and Eelerana slowly walking over.

He had hurried over, taking the risk of leaving the castle without a word.

There was always something that could happen, it just so happens to be that sometimes has to take risks

While the couple, for that fact where they even a couple or a fling, couldn't be bothered much by his disappearance for day, they most likely would take advantage of him for his so-called arrogance in thinking he could hide from them.

Because he was in fact actively avoiding them, his weak self vulnerable, more like he had entirely ignored their second date they had forced upon him.

But every story has to have an end, so it was about time they became usefull once more.

It was after all rather hard to give himself hickeys and such, while he had contemplated using magic Adrian had quickly done away with the idea entirely.

Even just dying his hair had him coughing up blood and while his soul had started getting used to his new body more and more, magic was still a strain.

He could have asked Cyra or at least just agreed immediately to her advances and such that would have been a horrible idea as he had another purpose for her.

The game of cat and mouse that they had been playing was funner then expected but nonetheless his feelings would get washed down the drain as soon he would be made to choose.

He can't fail now, he has gotten so far.

Which was exactly why he was going to follow the script of a weak, vulnerable and handsome character.

He would just pretend to be in a play.

Having hid himself in a dark and abandoned street, Adrian carefully peaked around the corner before (as always seems to happen when one is not allowed to be seen or heard) pulling back harshly.

Hair swishing, impossible to miss in the relatively glowing sun.

Even harder to miss was his stumbling and ever so accidentally knocking over a metal can.

Cursing also not so silently he buried his body in the darkest corner, desperately trying to calm his erratic breath and heart.

Wich was still loudly beating from his training and immediately afterwards rushing off.

Still he was having way too much fun with this, acting always a far away passion.

"Did you hear that?"

""Hm what? Nigel, this isn't a time to joke."

"No, I swear I heard something."

"From that dark, clearly abandoned street?

Waste someone else's time."

With that she waltzed of, not even glancing in the direction of the street.

Relaxing ever so slightly Adrian waited, whoever had closed the door at the tavern would no doubt be closely observing her aswell.

"I guess you're right. Must have imagined it."

Nigel mumbled before also walking off.

Waiting seconds Adrian followed the script and sighed out in relief. Body slumping against the wall before gathering courage and slowly walking away.

Only to let his eyes widen and body flinch as a vast hand settled upon his shoulder, unsure expression flickered on his face.

"It seems...you weren't mistaken after all."

"Am I ever?"

They where good.

But he was better as eyes flashed between the hand and approaching Nigel.

"I..I..I."

"Cat got your tongue?"

Gulping loudly, he flicked away her hand. Body returning to the dark wall.

"We can still see you.

While I somewhat admire your innocence, you can't be that stupid?"

"Don't bring him down like that. His innocence is cute."

"I still can't believe you of all people could be so into him, Rana."

"Well..well..you can.. just let m..me go if you.. don't want...you don't have..to listen to her?"

It was weak, voice shaky and fear practically eveywhere.

Nigel practically gleamed as he spoke up.

"Well you see that's where you are wrong.

She's my everything. What she does I do.

And whatever she wants she gets.

A lowly noble like you won't change that.

In fact you should be honored to have her fingers trace your skin.

In fact you made her wait, you made us wait

How could you just dissapear after stabbing me like that. You owe us."

"What he said."

Well she definitely ain't the emotional one in this weird relationship they have going on.

Nonetheless he hadn't expected his son to show so much devotion to someone.

He was still a teen for hell's sake.

"I can see you thinking.

It's not about age is it?."

He was sure his expression showed his quilt as Nigel retorted.

"It's always the adults who think that just because we're young they have power over us.

To gain something you must lose something instead you ponder meaninglessly.

So you can give us what you owe us willingly or we can show you how much a teenager could actually teach you about all sort of things.''

Nigel approached until he was right in front of him and with every word he spoke his hand tapped against his cheek.

"You will only have to do what we say, something that even you can easily fulfill.

Eelerana was nodding along every so often, arms folded as she patiently waited for a decision.

A decision that was just a smoke screen, a distraction as they gathered information of this street.

Of how many people could see and so on.

Because while they could do whatever they wanted in the tavern at that time here is another story.

Closer to the capital and castle made it so the chance of getting caught was big, a risk both where unwilling to make as it would have dire consequences for their parents.

It was clear in the way they waited, watched and how ears perked up at knocking sounds every now and then.

Nonetheless it seemed Eelerana was done with waiting as she briskly walked forward.

Nigel, smiling silently, backed away with raised hands.

Watching as a yelp echoed from the silver haired male as he got pushed against the wall.
