A meeting of firsts

A long, deep breath took over in him as he 'calmed' his temper.

It had been shocking to get into the kingdom of vampires for the second time, the first had been while he accompanied his master. He hadn't been allowed to venture more than a few miles from her.

Yet he was more than aware that after all those years there wasn't much change in the kingdom.

He was still restricted from going places, they were only allowed to pick up the boy and leave immediately yet he used the time waiting to take in everything and already assembling the report in his head.

One of those things was the fact that there wasn't a single citizen out, it was obvious the royal family was ready for everything with the numbers of stationed guards.

They were tense, ready for actions at a moment's notice.

It made sense, after fifteen years a weakness could become detrimental to their already balancing fate.

Adding the blanche card ,the baby of Aesteamore kingdom, there was even more reason for the entire kingdom to be on guard.

The reason for the vanished vampires, an existence that should never have existed.

There wasn't anyone who guessed but the revelation had shaken royalty, nobles and citizens alike.

A child in a species that wasn't supposed to be capable of procreation, much to the relief of many. Outrage that had followed it had left the royal family in a tight spot.

Soon it had spread that they had known ,even though they didn't, and that they hadn't done anything.

Another black stain on the already blackened rug.

Responsibilities had once more fallen on his shoulders, while hate to the vampires experienced a rapid and sudden growth. Vampires, they always made his life difficult.

It had been an annoying few weeks so he couldn't help but rub his temple.

Avey didn't know how a spy managed to get in the castle because he sure as hell couldn't, his lack of information even left his KIng displeased.

With special training as a result, it wasn't exactly thrilling.

A punishment for his failure, so when the source of the information was revealed, Avery had fumed at the fact a rich, stuck up noble had been capable of getting his hands on it.

More information had been revealed.

Only one child, no other pregnancies either

A stroke of luck was whispered in the streets, together with the cheers for the noble.

Public opinion shifted, leaving the royal family dissatisfied as they favoured the noble.

His own master, the third princess grumbled for weeks and her temper roared fiercely for days on end.

He, himself, had found it weird how invested the noble was. Underlying tension had left him speculating that he had done it for something else then the so-called good of the world.

Yet he only supported enrollment in the academy of Aurelia and never wanted anything else.

Placing his fingers on it was impossible, not like he had the time for it.

Whilst the training from the king at least lessened, his daughter was now the one that left his hands busy with her ugly habits.

When wasn't she as even now he was put to escort the child because of her.

It was even taking rather long for the famed child to show up. Did he even exist?

It would be better if he didn't, interest in him had already rosen his above even the smartest child prodigies.

Avery was very well aware that once the child enters the human kingdom, he would most likely never be allowed to leave.

He could already envision the pointing finger in the boy's direction, whispered words and even the rise of scientists and such who want to take him apart.

He didn't care, if it were up to him he would make it so that the world was rid of at least one annoyance. He would even make it quick, showing slight consideration for his age.

Crimson colour would flow down from the wound in a steady pour, it would be over in minutes, just minutes.

Avery could make it stretch days, blood forming a pool underneath the corpse as the heart beated it last.

But he wasn't allowed, both the princess and King had ordered for the boy to be escorted safely and he had no other choice but to obey.

Doesn't mean he was going to like it.

Passing seconds and minutes made his temper rise up and he already had the perfect target.

It was surprising seeing his target, who would have thought, a full blooded moon elf in the company of vampires for the past fifteen years.

He wasn't the only one who had thought it weird as numerous murmurs behind him agreed and his ears picked up the farther off thoughts

He was quite....something. Nice features for lack of better words, blue waist length hair and an imposing stance. One that screamed to not even bother trying something for he wouldn't care.

Elf's, always so high and mighty.

Might even prove to be a challenge, his tongue flicked over his lips as eyes went to the obvious vampire next to the elf.

Obviously, somewhat, the black eyes gave it away yet the golden locks were something unheard of.

Most vampires had black hair, just like most elf's had blue hair.

There were exceptions, Aesteamore's king had blood red hair and a famed hunter in the elven realm had black hair.

A hunter who never missed and every arrow left a trace of blood, Avery would like him.

Wait a..silver? Silver coloured had glinted in the sun, between the open gap of the castle doors.

Right...a special one it seems.

It must be the child , the notion of him just watching them through the gap, left Avery feeling irked.

He knew the child was the only child here, the other's thousand years older but did they even bother teaching him manners?

Nevermind the fact that it would be the first time the boy would leave the kingdom and the safety of the castle walls.

He would most likely be scared , children are most of the time, very wasteful moments. Like the elf ant the other would accompany him so his feelings really didn't matter.

Back on those, his eyes hadn't really strayed from them and the vampire doesn't look impressive at all. Clutching a writing so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

It was almost laughable, black orbs strained as his gaze lingered on certain individuals.

Individuals that were all human, himself included.

The elf didn't move and watched without a single trace of emotion.

Slightly he wondered which emotion the elf would be capable of feeling or even showing.

Maybe he will figure..force it out in the future.

Might prove to be fun!

He wanted to move and test it already but there was no movement since they had stepped out and informed them that the boy would be fetched. Since they hadn't, he could not let himself be outdone by a disabled vampire or a mesmerising elf.

Like the king would say.

Your actions reflect on the royal family, anything less than perfection would mean we have no backbone!

There had been more than one lecture where he had been forced to listen to nonsense and even quizzed on things he was allowed to do and things he wasn't.

If he had even one thing wrong, it would start all over again.

Very frustrating, even followed with an unmerciful headache.

The amount of times they repeated that he wasn't allowed to hurt, maim or kill was ridiculous. Like why the three? When he could just kill immediately?

It's not like they liked each other, they simply tolerated.

And if he had needed to tolerate another minute of waiting he would maimed someone in his vicinity.

Luckily ,for whoever would have been his victim, the heavy doors of the castle finally opened.

And out came the child, a fifteen year old with hair so silver and eyes so blue, a length of around 176.

Is this really a vampire?

He wasn't the only one who thought it but at least he kept his thoughts to himself. It seems there will need to be a few more training lessons for this batch of knights.

Following the boy was another vampire,...they shared some features, so that was obviously the father who carefully squeezed the child's shoulder as his steps grew smaller and smaller.

Hesitation flickered with uncertainty written all over the boy's face as he slowly made his way over again.

How in the world did they teach the child?

After ages, the boy found it's way in front of him, expression calm yet turmoil heavily laced in his eyes as he introduced himself.

"Adrian Amdis Acheron....my name."

Again, how did they teach?!

No manners really, not that Avery should speak but at the very least he didn't greet the boy with a knife to the delicate, gulping throat.

That should count for something.

"Avery Emmerson, main overseer of this group and in charge of your safety until you arrive at the academy of Aurelia."
