[Thunder Bird]

The fire mage used [Flame Surge – B] to blast the ground, and even though the effect of the fire was greatly reduced because of the tower restrictions, it was still hot enough to harden the quicksand so that they would get out. The earth mage used an earth skill to break the rock, and they quickly crawled out and charged after Terra.

Terra ran like there was a demon behind her and she risked looking back to see if the men were following her. She saw the two men chasing her with angry looks on her faces and she desperately tried to speed up. The large forest and constant trees provided ample coverage for her as she swerved around the area and she led the men away from the dungeon.

The sound of wolves howling reached Terra and she saw some [Tempest Wolves] running alongside her through the forest. Terra stumbled from fear once she saw them, but she caught herself before she could fall down and continued running.

"If you see any wolves, then it's your business how you get away from them," Jason's voice rang in her head again, "But remember that those wolves will definitely kill you if you stop moving for even a second. You're only a D rank and those are D rank monsters. You won't stand a chance against a pack of them."

'Thanks for the motivation' Terra thought sarcastically. She picked up her pace and desperately tried to get as far away from the wolves as possible. One of the wolves leaped through the trees and tried to get her, but she activated [Rock Wall] and a massive rock shot out from the ground and blocked the wolf from getting to her. Another wolf used a skill and shot a blast of wind at her and she activated the [Rock Wall] again to block it. Luckily, air skills were weaker than earth skills, so the blast of air was properly stopped by the wall. The men behind her were also getting attacked by the wolves and Terra was able to add some distance between them.

[Jason's POV]

I stabbed my knife into another [Tempest Wolf] and it yipped as it died.

[You have killed 56 [Tempest Wolves]]

[Strength +12]

[Agility +20]

[Stamina +9]

[Magic Power +230]

[Magic Control (Current Progress – 6.5%)]

[You have ranked up to D rank]

[The system has detected an unprecedented growth in magic power in relation to other stats. The system suggests slowing down the growth of this skill in order to achieve balance.]

I ignored the system and I made sure that my wound didn't reopen from the fight I just had with eh wolves. I was glad that Terra had a knife on her that I could use. It was a small dagger, but it was stronger than my former sword and it didn't break even after I used it to fight off more than fifty wolves.

'I wonder where Terra is now,' I thought as I turned around and started to make my way into the boss room. But, it didn't matter where she was, as long as she can bring the men here before she runs out of stamina, then I would take care of them. I wanted to hunt more wolves before entering the boss room, but I didn't have any time for that now that we were on a time limit. I need to defeat the boss before Terra gets back.

[You have entered the boss room of the dungeon [Galeheaven]. You cannot leave until you kill the boss monster [Thunder Bird]]

[You have attracted the hostility of the [Thunder Bird]]

[Due to the penalty of the dungeon, all wind-based skills will receive a 50% decrease in power]

The boss monster of this dungeon was the [Thunder Bird]. A giant white avian monster with large wings and huge powerful claws. It had the ability to summon lightning and wind, and its size was big enough to make the [Flaming Serpent] look like a regular Anaconda.

CAW!!!

The thunderbird immediately released a loud battle cry as it saw me and flapped its wings in the air to make itself look large and dominating. I put my hands up to my face as I felt the harsh winds that threatened to throw me away, and I could feel my heart pounding from the intensity of what I was about to face.

The last time I took on this bird, I was already a C rank, but this time I am only a D class and this is my very first D rank dungeon.

CAW!

Rumble! Rumble!

Clouds gathered in the sky above me and lightning streaked across it as thunder boomed. I started to move as the Thunder Bird activated a skill and sent a bolt of lightning straight at me! I activated Rain of Hellfire and hundreds of balls made from black fire began to rain down on the bird, but it just flapped its wing and the balls flew to the side and none of them touched it. The bird flew off the ground and began flying straight at me and I activated [Aura of Desolation].

Boom!!

A sound like thunder blasted across the room and the bird cawed in anger as it was burnt by the black flames that surrounded me. it flapped its wings in my direction and all the flames died out at once. I needed to bring the bird down to the ground if I wanted to beat it.

A sudden tingle at the back of my head made me stop moving as I realized that it was my [Danger Sense]. I saw the bird rear back its head and I dropped to the ground as it released a sonic blast of raw energy in my direction.

SCREEEECHHHH!!!

A thunderous sound filled the room and I could feel the ground under me shaking from the force of the blast. I completely forgot about that skill. It was [Sonic Blast], one of the most powerful skills of the [Thunder Bird]. Getting hit by it can even disorient a B ranker.

I got up and ran towards the bird again. Thousands of webs wrapped around one of the bird's wings as I activated [Shadow Web], causing it to lose balance as it began to fall. The bird slammed into the ground and it quickly used its beak to easily cut the web apart before releasing another strong wind that pushed me back. It tried to fly back into the air, but I used Aura of Desolation on it and thunder clapped as a ring of fire spread out and slammed into the bird.

CAW!!

Another battle cry was released as the bird flapped its wings again and extinguished the rest of my flames. A wave of high-pressure wind flew towards me as the bird activated [Sonic Blast] and I had to face it head-on and use that opportunity to finally get close enough to the bird to get rid of its wings.

I used [Shadow Veil], and a blanket of black fog filled the area and obstructed me from the bird. The bird was uncomfortable in the fog since it couldn't see, and it quickly flapped its wing to get rid of the fog. As the fog cleared, the bird looked around in surprise as it didn't see me anymore.

I jumped onto the bird's back and stabbed my knife into that space between its wing and neck, and a large screech of pain filled the room as the bird began to flap its wings around. It took off into the sky and I held on tighter as it tried desperately to throw me off. But before long, the bird began to fall back to the ground as the pain in its wing was too much to bare.

Thousands of webs wrapped around the other wing as I activated [Shadow Web], and the bird could no longer use any of its wings as it crashed into the ground. I grabbed my knife from its neck and put it between my teeth as I climbed higher up until I could see the bird's eye.

I grabbed the knife and waited for the right moment, and once I saw the bird turn its eye to me, I stabbed it in the eye.
