Chapter 177

The infected supernaturals covered the lands beneath them. There were hundreds of them. The jet circled around them, flying over a small forest a few miles away. The plan was for them to drop down there and stealthily sneak up on the army or feverish creatures.

Liam pushed the two witches toward the edge of the deck. "Come on, time to go." He spoke loudly, command ringing in his voice. It was the sort of voice used to train his pack warriors.

"We're not descending," the head chief observed.

"Of course not," Blanca told her. "We can't land. The monsters feed on magic. They will tear the jet apart. It needs to stay up here."

"Then how will we get up to the jet again?" the head chief asked, panic straining her voice.

Liam showed off his watch. "I have a remote to summon the jet back to us when we're done."

The one-eyed witch glanced at her watch, calculation gleaming in her eyes. "And can any of us activate it?"
