Blanca thought so when she suggested it, but now she just didn't know. She reached for Dimitri, trying to comfort him.
Dimitri recoiled from her touch. "This is what the gods wanted." He glared at Ulrich. "Isn't it?"
"Yes."
Dimitri's gaze shifted to me. "This is why she's here." His gaze shifted to her. "This is why she's here."
"Yes," Ulrich said again.
The floodgates of their bond opened, and the tsunami crashed against her, drowning her in Dimitri's agony. She'd never felt anything like it, not even when he'd lost his magic. Blanca didn't understand the tears streaming down her cheeks. She only knew that her heart was in pieces, that it was shattered and it was her fault for suggesting it in the first place, and she'd never feel whole again. Oh God, what did she do?
"What is it?" She asked Dimitri, choking on her tears.
