rain, floods, and bodies.

"Was it a taco place?"

"Yeah, how'd you know? It's not in the news yet." My mom asked suspiciously.

"Well, to be honest, when we went to the mall, there was a whole fiasco there it was crazy,

we left before anything bad happened. But these guys rushed in and started yelling and throwing things, everyone in the restaurant left, including us, but it seemed too coincidental to not be related."

"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked.

"Well I don't tell you about every fight I see at school do I?"

"Well no I guess not, just thought something so wild, you'd want to share it with me." She

sounded hurt.

Confession time.

"That's not fair, I just thought you'd be worried and you'd ban me from traveling."

"That's an unfair accusation, I'm hurt." She was joking but I could definitely tell there was some truth in her words.

"I guess I just underestimated how cool you'd be about it."

Her face had this look of disappointment "Well next time know, I want the tea." She says.

"Kay mom."

It's only 9 and I'm tired so after some cuddling the my mom near the fire place I crawl into my own bed.

*Bang*Bang*

"Yes can I help you?"

"Miss, there is nothing to be concerned, but the captain is asking everyone no matter the class to come to the deck. So please miss, put on your coat and your life vest." The man in a white buttoned up collared shirt said.

"Life vest? Why would that be necessary if there's nothing to be concerned for."

"It's the captains request miss." He repeated again.

"I heard you, but why, for how long? Do I need to change?"

"Yes miss dress warm." We're his last words

before moving on to the next room.

Taking the life jackets I call to my brother and father "We are all being asked to ascend to the upper deck by the captain. The man also said to dress warm."

"That's ridiculous, why on earth would we do that?" Father said.

"Maybe it's a drill considering the need to wear a life vest." Brother mentioned.

"There was that jolt earlier, do you think we could have hit something? Like an iceberg?"

"No way Sara, that would be impossible, this is ship is unsinkable, the titanic is the largest ship ever to sail across the Atlantic." My father said proudly.

"No ship is unsinkable father." Brother

commented.

"Noah's ship was unsinkable, God made it so." I added.

"Don't compare the Titanic to Noah's Arc, sister that's blasphemy, don't let mother hear you speak like that." Brother said quietly.

"Well the captain has requested our presence so we shall respect his request, dress warmly children, I'll fetch your mother." Father said.

Putting on a thick black coat over my warm olive green skirt and cream colored ruffled blouse. And then the life vest.

Suddenly I hear screams. Jerking my head toward the door, I walk over opening it to find people rushing through he halls shouting. The echo in the halls was too loud I couldn't make out what was being said.

All of us together I lead my family to the upper deck.

Taking the stairs closest to us I try and stop someone to ask them, "hey do you whats going on? No one is telling us anything."

"Miss the ship is sinking find a boat and get off while you can." The woman said rushing by us.

Her fear left her voice shaking more than the cold.

My mothers face was drained of all color as if she'd seen a ghost.

Sinking?

The words finally register.

I have to find him. We only just met, but I worked hard to catch his attention, I need to find him.

"Mom, wait for me over here by this bench, I have to look for Carter." Trying to get away from them.

"No you don't, don't you dare leave your family for that gangster." My mother yelled trembling in fear.

I was panicked. The deck was buzzing with

people walking slowly huddled together and others running between people. People shouting looking for lost loved ones.

It was complete chaos out here. The air was so cold I could see my breath. Rubbing my hands together and blowing on them even in the gloves it was helping the bone gnawing cold that surrounded us all. Suddenly all the lights on the ship started flickering, now peoples went from tears of fear to anger and panic. People started to fight and push.

"We need to find a boat." Father said.

"Agreed, I don't think this is a drill anymore." Brother said trying to lighten the mood. But Mother just glared daggers at him.

"What about Carter mother?" My heart was pounding as anxiety and dread filled my soul.

"What about him? Your ship fling? Why do you care so much?" Brother asked.

"He's my soulmate I can't explain it." I felt the words in every bones.

"You're ridiculous, lets go." Mother says yanking my arm with her.

We near a boat when I hear him scream "Sara!"

I look up and a smile shoots across my face. He made it.

"Back off everyone back away." The voice of a panicked man yelled behind me. Some moving to give way to Carter shoved me out of the crowd.

*POP*

My ears were ringing, it suddenly got so much colder. Hard to breathe. Next to me mother shrieks in horror looking at my stomach.

There's blood. It was pooling out of a hole in me.

Blood.

Blood seeping into my clothes.

Pain slammed into me, it felt like I was hit with a thousand knives. It was so painful I lean back against the railing.

Hard to breathe. *Cough*Cough*

Blood. I could feel the warmth of blood dripping from my mouth. Looking down and blood had drenched my clothes.

Mother on her knees wailing uncontrollably.

Detaching my clipped life vest to look at my wound.

Blood now smeared my vision as I tried to wipe it from my face.

Screams and footsteps echoed loudly in my ears.

I'm falling.

"Hey now, hey now, fainting at the sight of me are you?" His sensual voice slipped in my ears like smooth milk chocolate.

More blood filled my mouth when I tried to laugh. It hurt. Oh god why did it hurt so bad.

Tears drifted down my cheeks the salt leaving a trail of it path behind it.

"You're gonna be okay, I promise."

"You found me."

"I'll always find you."

*CRACK*CREAK*SNAP*CRASH*

The ship began to lift into the air and people began to fall.

I blink and then I'm falling. With one breath in I hit the ice cold water. Paralyzed. I couldn't move.

The screams and cries of women and children echoed, filling a void of darkness.

Slipping. I was slipping under the violent thrashing of the waves.

The air was being sucked from my lungs. When I try and open my mouth to breathe water rushed in instead.

I was drowning.

Gasping for air only to swallow more water. The last bit of hair leaving me in hurried bubbles The water was like liquid ice touching my skin, but inside my lungs burned. A scream burst from my mouth only to be drowned by water that came rushing in after.

I sank deeper into the darkness. The world quieted around me. The last of the moonlight the world had to offer slowly slipped from my sight.
