"Sir, if I see you harassing my wife again, I won't be so gentle next time." Albert Brown stood with one hand in his pocket, his handsome face filled with coldness.

His proud and aloof gaze lingered on Paulo Johnson's face for a moment, "Besides, our Amelia has a discerning taste, and she's not interested in a loser like you."

This hit Paulo's male pride hard.

His stuttering gaze fell on Amelia Sanchez, who was flirtatiously holding Albert Brown's hand, her voice soft and sweet, "Husband, can we go home now?"

"Yes." The coldness on Albert Brown dissipated, and his eyes softened.

The two held hands lovingly, ignoring Paulo Johnson, and left together.

On the way home, Amelia sat in the co-pilot seat, her phone constantly buzzing. She knew without looking that the office people were gossiping about Albert Brown.

Amelia chuckled and checked her phone. The group chat was blowing up with praises for Albert Brown's handsomeness and manliness, and how well he suited their boss, balabala.

After responding to a few messages, Amelia chatted all the way home. When they got out of the car, she noticed Albert Brown's expression wasn't great.

While replying to messages earlier, she had noticed Albert Brown's occasional glances.

But why? What was the problem? Why did his mood suddenly change?

Amelia couldn't figure it out.

The gloomy atmosphere continued until they finished dinner and returned to their room. Amelia brought up the matter in the group chat, looking for answers.

Little Roundface replied quickly: [Boss, aren't you being too straightforward? Your husband is clearly jealous!]

Amelia finally understood.

Touching her phone, she sneakily glanced at Albert Brown, who was sitting on the sofa, using his laptop.

The light from the floor-to-ceiling window was very bright, casting a cool white light on the man's profile. Albert Brown had a perfect half-face, lips pursed, brows slightly furrowed.

"Albert," Amelia called to him.

Albert Brown looked up, "Hmm?"

Amelia put down her phone, moved next to him, and sat down. Albert Brown closed his laptop and looked at her, puzzled.

"Are you angry?" Amelia carefully observed Albert Brown's face, hooking one of his hands, and spoke softly, "The guy at work today is my ex-boyfriend, who I almost got engaged to."

The title sounded a bit strange, and before Amelia could figure it out, she saw Albert Brown's face darken.

She explained, "I don't like him. I was forced into it back then, and there's nothing between us, let alone any feelings."

"Hmm." Albert Brown replied indifferently, but his expression improved a lot.

Amelia, who was watching all this, couldn't help but curl her lips upward.

Her delicate fingers poked Albert Brown's cheek. "So, you really are jealous?"

"No."

Albert Brown lazily caught her hand and leaned close, looking serious, "I was just thinking about something else."

"Tsk, tsk." Amelia whispered, "Your words don't match your feelings."

"Hmm?"

Seeing the dangerous look in Albert Brown's squinting eyes, Amelia was captivated by his beauty. She impulsively wrapped both hands around his neck and leaned over to peck his lips.

The next second, her body was flipped, and Amelia was held upon his lap. Before she could exclaim, her lips were pressed by a soft touch.

Her heart raced as his powerful hand held the back of her head.

Amelia was dazed by the kiss. "Mmm..."

As soon as she spoke, Albert Brown's breathing became heavy, the air turning hot. His lips moved down, kissing along her collarbone, and further below...

Amelia snapped out of it and escaped.

"Albert..." Her sweet voice came out but got stuck there.

Amelia's face turned red.

On Albert Brown's stunning face, his dark eyes were tempting, and their hot bodies touching each other. He was eager for more but controlled himself.

"I..." Amelia couldn't speak.

Instead, Albert Brown gave her a lazy smile, letting go of Amelia, "Sweetie, I'll go shower first and catch up to you."

He turned and went to the bathroom, and Amelia, with those scenes swirling in her mind, hurriedly poured a glass of cold water to drink.

Picking up her phone, trying to divert her attention, Amelia's rational thinking finally returned.

Wait a minute!

Isn't Albert Brown her little pet?

Why should she explain things to him?

Amelia felt deep down that her sugar parent persona was crumbling.

Early the next morning, Amelia had already gone to work.

Albert Brown lazily sat on the sofa working on his laptop, and a phone call came in.

"Hello?" he answered directly.

From the other side, his bad friends' loud voices came through, "Young Master Brown, why have you been so busy lately? We haven't seen you hanging out with us!"

Another voice chimed in:

"Hurry up! Elder Thompson has arranged a get-together tonight, and he's invited a bunch of beautiful women. High quality, you'll miss out if you don't come!"

"No." Albert Brown lazily declined.

He leaned against the sofa, his lips barely curved, and languidly said, "Who wants to hang out with you guys without wives? I'm a married man now, no deals."

"Bloody hell! Really?" His good friends were in shock, "You got married? I don't believe it! Not a single rumor beforehand!"

"Besides, there wasn't even a wedding. You're messing with us!"

"It's true." Albert Brown casually grinned, one hand on the table, nonchalantly saying, "I'll invite you guys to dinner next time. Gotta go."

"Hey, hey, hey! Tell us about our sister-in-law!! Hurry up and tell us who subdued our pure and virtuous Al...!"

The phone hung up, and silence returned to his ears.

Albert Brown resumed working.

He was busy until 4 PM, having just asked his secretary to arrange a schedule, when his phone rang relentlessly again.

Seeing the caller ID as "Mother," Albert Brown hesitated for a moment before answering, "Hello, Mom?"

"Where are you?"

Mrs. Brown immediately questioned with repressed anger, "You're all grown up now, getting married without telling your family? If it weren't for your friend mentioning it, and me asking someone to check with the Civil Affairs Bureau, I'd be totally unaware!"

"I told you, my marriage isn't a sacrificial lamb for a matrimonial union." Albert Brown's expression was icy.

His handsome face was covered with a layer of frost.

"Haven't you been living off the family for all these years? What right do you have to argue with me?!" Mrs. Brown's blood pressure surged, "If you were a tenth as capable as your brother, do you think I'd still have to worry about you?!"

Albert Brown's eyes narrowed, his face even colder.

Mrs. Brown, furious and frustrated, issued an ultimatum, "Bring that woman home! I want to see how she dared to bewitch my son."

"And, I've found out where she works. If you don't bring her, I'll make her lose her job!"
