The Cursed Trickster

It’s been 120 years since the world of Aegis became a reality to its players. The trickster, Morgana, spent a century of that time locked in The Underworld after sacrificing herself to save Aegis from her nemesis. Now, she has been brought back into the world that had forsaken her once, and while Aegis is back to its incessant cycle of chaos, all Morgana wants to do is go back to The Underworld and play board games. Forging new alliances, adopting a child, toppling empires, rebuilding kingdoms, confronting new and old adversaries, and uncovering the mysteries of the past century she spent away. Morgana might need to stay and end the cycle of chaos once and for all… --------------------------------------------- [The first chapter is the longest. The Black Cross Rituals

After Morgana and Shinryu made quick work of the pair of bandits at the village's entrance, they urged the rest to join them.

They had a big group, including the four teenagers of the Freebird party, Lily, Bella, Abaddon, Corinna, Shinryu, Blaze, and Morgana. With three of them being max-level, they felt confident about their mission.

The trickster asked Blaze to stay with the teenagers at all times since they were the lowest level of the bunch, with the four of them being level 48.

When the group split to check the torn-down houses, they were all met with gruesome scenes of dead bodies nailed to the walls or ceilings, and their blood used to draw strange diagrams around them.

Lily, the dark shaman, recognized some of them as "dark rituals," which were similar to the ones that Haldor had her cast under captivity in Kartan.

"The Black Cross likes to have people who specialize in these types of skills…" Lily explained to the other members of Oblivion.
