Patience is Virtue

"Can I have a taste?" inquired Harvey.

"No! It's for Moon alone," said the Queen while glaring at Harvey.

"I can't remember the last time you prepared something for me, Mother," uttered Harvey as he chewed on his bread.

"I can't remember too," said Asher, the second prince.

"Why should I do that? Who are you both to me?" asked Queen Eleanor as she raised her brows.

How they behaved with each other also shocked Moon. What has she been reading in books? All the descriptions of the Royals were certainly different from what she was seeing.

The books clearly stated how rigid the Royals were. They had to be sophisticated and all sorts, but this family, they were a family.

This was the same way her home was, She, her Mama, and her Papa, were all joyous. She wonder how they were doing.

This Royal family was surely on good terms. The ones in books were always on bad terms, trying to harm one another for the Throne. But books couldn't be trusted at all, it has deceived her and clouded her reasoning about the Royals.

"We are your sons." The outburst of the Prince brought her back from her thoughts.

Eleanor tsk before muttering, "I only prepare special delicacy for my husband, and now, for my daughter-in-law."

Moon smiled at her, she wondered where the love the Queen has for her came from.

"That's partiality, Mama," uttered Asher

"Who cares? No one," said Queen Eleanor

"It's high time you both leave my wife. Go get married, when you do then your wife might prepare you something," said the King.

When Moon heard that, she froze. She, Moon Dandelion, cooks for Harvey? She can't even knit, or dance. She never mastered any skills. She was dumb as a rat. Was rat dumb? Certainly, they are.

"When Harvey and I get married, I don't think he will be opportune to ever eat a food prepare by me," said Moon

"Why is that?" asked Asher

"I can't cook," said Moon and they all laughed.

"It's not necessary to prepare a dish for your husband, because he can't do the same," uttered Eleanor and they all laughed except Harvey who frowned.

"Why are you laughing, Asher?" inquired Harvey

"Shouldn't I?" questioned Asher with a raised brow.

"You aren't better than me," said Harvey with a smirk.

"We took after, Papa, what did you expect?" said Asher without any ounce of shame which made the king burst out.

"What? I beg your pardon. There isn't any way you took after me," he said while glaring at Asher.

Moon smiled at their banter, the King himself being so free with his family was a sight to see.

"I agree with Asher on that, Father," Harvey said, adding fuel to the fire and the King breathed out the flame.

"Calm down, my love. These children of yours are something else," said the Queen as she held the King's hand.

He smiled when he heard her words. He was typically a lovesick King.

"You don't have to be able to cook, I will do that for you, and the maids too," said Eleanor, making Hardin smile.

"What did you feed Father, Mother, that made him turn into a lovesick puppy?" questioned Asher.

"Sugar. She feeds me an abundant amount of sugar," said King Hardin.

"You don't have to look, join the discussion," said Eleanor, quietly. Moon just nodded her head. She prefers to hear the talks.

"I'm sure the sugar was mixed with a potion," said Harvey, smirking.

They were supposed to be done eating already, but they just weren't. No one disturbs them as they were aware of how they normally do when having breakfast.

"I'm full," muttered Harvey before he stood on his feet. They had discussed and laughed, and finally, one was done eating.

"Same," said the rest at the same time which made them laugh.

"See you all later. I wonder why Otis isn't here yet," said Harvey before he walked to Moon's side and placed a kiss on her forehead.

The Queen raised her brows before giving Moon a teasing smile. His action made Moon cringe. She just wanted to take a kerchief and wipe the spot he placed his slutty lips on.

"Wait, Harvey," said Asher.

"What is it?"

"You shouldn't have done that knowing full well that she doesn't like you," said Asher as they walked to the carriage

"I do not care. She's my friend and my betrothed," said Harvey.

"You certainly do have a problem when it comes to treating women," muttered Asher

'I do not. I treat Mother well."

"All because she's your Mother," said Asher

"Get to the point, Dankworth," muttered Harvey when he got to the carriage.

"You won't rush her. Ladies can be fragile and you are aware of your reputation. I can see with all the façade she wears that she doesn't like you," said Asher as he sighed.

"She is my friend. I'm sure it's because I never told her the truth, that is why,' mumbled Harvey.

"Then I must say that you are blind. You know how she feels about you. No woman wants a whoring husband," said Asher

"Then, fvck that. I want her, not as the friend we were before, but as my wife. A wife that loves me," said Harvey

"If you do, then you have to be patient. Patience is a virtue, Harvey and you know you aren't patient at all," Asher advised.

"I wonder why you were born after me, you'd make a good older brother and an excellent future king," said Harvey, while smiling.

"You are an excellent brother and crown prince," uttered Asher before waving at Harvey.

Asher walked back into the castle and met his Mother in the corridor, dragging Moon by the hand as she followed her. He said no word and just minded his business only.

Asher Dankworth, Second Prince of Ashbourne. An intelligent young man with a lot of virtue. He was the calm and loving Prince who was so intelligent. His nickname was 'Young granny.'

He was young but had the brain of a grandfather who had seen everything life could offer.

He was quite different from his older brother, he was different in so many aspects, especially when it came to decision-making.
