Goblins are one of the three main races that live in the Plains Regions. Before the Age of Cultivation, the world was invaded by other wordly entities. They corrupted and kill the world and its inhabitants. Multiple races joined the invaders after being corrupted.
The only three races that did not get corrupted are the Goblins, Humans, and Spirits. The spirit's mind is too strong to be corrupted, as forces of the natural laws of the world. They fought tooth and nail to reclaim the land and nature.
Humans follow a strict sect of laws, orders, and religions. Their minds already occupied by other things are not easily corrupted by outside forces. With armies of gold, shields of silver, and weapons of copper. They march forward and attack all that bring danger to order, law, and religion.
The Goblins grew by fighting and competition, the harder the battle or competition the stronger they grew. The strong eat the weak and the strong rule with an iron fist. Because of their desire to win and grow stronger, Goblins make everything into a competition, all having their favorites and their expertise. But war will always prove to be a good option. There is no growth in fighting the weak, but you can grow when killing the strong.
As such these three races united and fought back against the invasion. At first, the three races rule in peace with each other. But times must change and new generations come forward, the order old is replaced and the new order demands change.
The spirits with their higher-than-thou mentality fought against humans and goblins growing civilizations. Humans wanted nothing more than to keep order and peace, which the other two races did not like very much. While Goblins would never back down from a good fight, all-out war began between the three races.
The first ones to suffer the most from these wars were the spirits, their birth is really unique and a lot takes time. A war is fought by numbers and no matter how strong, a million ants can bring down an elephant. Their numbers decrease to low points as they went into hiding, never leaving the war but buying time.
This left humans and goblins to draw borders between each other and continue the endless cycle of war. In the current year, the war is in a cycle of peace. As the two races slowly gather their forces and lick their wounds. Their industries going into civilian mode as their economies grow stronger for the next phase of the war.
The Bloody Moon sect is a Goblin sect that borders the Martial Sect and Ocean Palace Sect. The Bloody Moon Sect worships the Laughing Moon God, in this religion mythos, the moon once had other siblings, gods of every aspect. Till one day all were killed, their pieces colliding and forming the single large moon that is seen in night skies.
This moon, an abomination of different gods goes into phases, each a new face. These Goblins worship its Laughing Face, a god with great cunning, plans that never fail, and daggers that never miss. It laughs with arrogance from the top of the world. Does that show their worth in life, great warriors or experts in their fields will join the moon god after death. Were they will fight for the position of god.
To the Goblins mortal life was just their training to become gods in the afterlife. The Bloody Moon Sect is special in its defenses and the number of materials it controls. Having large veins of ore and crystals, it is a rich and powerful sect. Their weapon and armor smiths work with the best material and their constant competition brought forward great talents and improve the quality of the equipment crafted.
In the mountain range within the domain of the Bloody Moon Sect is a large man-made cave. The ceiling of the cave is extremely high and it's wide enough to fit a small city. Countless buildings made from stone decorate this cave, mass stone carving factories make up a large portion of this cave city industry. Goblins are a small race, only reaching around 4 feet of Hight.
But what they lack in Hight they make up in raw physical strength, because of goblins' innate talent to grow stronger which each win they have a higher number of cultivators compared to humans but less than spirits. But they are much of a threat to each other than they are to humans. In Goblins sects and clans it is not rare for infighting to happen.
But even with a large cultivator population, the sects and clans of the Goblins face the same problems as humans and spirits. The lack of resources and ever-increasing demand for them. So only does within a clan or sect are allow to learn skills and use the treasures and artifacts the sect or clan has.
But unlike humans who have a strict social hierarchy, any Goblin can join a sect or clan. As long as you defeat someone in that clan and sect and take their spot. Is because of this constant threat of losing your position that Goblins cultivators train day and night to become stronger.
Countless dirty and tired goblins with pickaxes walk the stone streets of this city. In one of these groups of goblins, their destination being going into the central tunnel that is being dug is a goblin with green skin and purple dots. This Goblin is name Azor, a goblin with Nature Heritage.
Azor never wanted this tiresome job, he was more than happy farming in the countryside with his family.
'my crops are better than that bastards!'
Is one of the things Azor thought of as he continues to follow this group. The Bloody Moon Sect is a sect that's on the front lines of the War. As such extensive conscription and military service is forced on every goblin of this sect. But there are some expectations, for single-parent households, children, and the elderly.
He does not know why they are doing so much mining in this mountain range, but it was the role he was assigned. As long as he finishes and survives he would be rewarded and will be allowed to go back home to his wife and kids. Soon their leader, a tall woman with long curved horns. Purple skin and hoofs for feet spoke in a commanding tone.
"This will be our area, we are to mine 50,000 KG of stone today! We got to beat the other groups!"
The leader said as she summons her own pickaxe from her storage ring. The rest of the goblins, all the goblins started to hit their pickaxes against the stone furiously. They all wanted to win against the other teams and be stronger. Their muscles, which are stronger than a normal human contract and flex. The strength behind their strikes breaks large portions of the cave wall.
Azor hit the stone wall with all of his force, as a Goblin of nature heritage, he is not that good when it comes to physical labor. He much prefers to deal with plants and farming, that is his strong suit and where his talents lie. Compared to other goblins in his group, he is not the best miner.
Soon with the leadership of their group leader, the group worked in perfect unison. The act of competition motivates them and keeps this good oil machine going. Hours went by, the goblins working tirelessly, this is when the unthinkable happened. The stone wall in front of them opens up. Raveling a massive and ever-expanding set of natural form tunnels and caves.
"Are you having a laugh?"
Said the purple skin woman, as she stores her pickaxe, she sends one of the goblins to report this to the higher-ups. Her eyes become serious as she slowly gathers her QI.
"Get ready, you don't know what might come out of this"
This type of natural cave system is something this city has a deal with, when undertaking such an immense project as building an underground tunnel to the human's back line. You are bound to encounter lots of trouble, from ancient monsters, deadly gasses, cold water, and Old World Corruption.
But not like the Goblins complain, this just means more opportunities to grow in strength. The earth shakes beneath their feet, and the sound of something big and fast running bounces off the walls. The roars of something angry and deadly get closer. Till from the natural caves, a large ugly monstrosity comes out.
It is humanoid in shape, its skin is pure earth and stone. Its eyes are black stones and its blood flows magma. This type of creature is something new to these goblins, they have no clue what it was. But the fact that it was hostile was more than enough for them to attack it.
The Golem slams its fist against the ground, breaking it apart and making the terrain rough to move in. But the purple skin woman and a goblin with green skin and white stripes easily maneuver around the protruding pieces of stone. The purple skin woman is the first one to reach the golem, as she channels QI into her left hoof.
With skillful movements she kicks the Golem's large thick leg, breaking a piece of it. As the fast goblin soon follows, with great precision the goblin attacks the cracks between the stone skin of the golem, pulling apart some of its skin. Soon the rest of the goblins join the fight. But the Golem, while stupid, knew that letting these Goblins attack it is bad. It punches the fast goblin with unnatural strength.
The goblin goes flying only stopping as his body hits a wall. Its bones and muscles break and explode. Its organs get pierced and compress. It slowly flops to the ground, dead and lifeless. Soon another goblin, with green skin and red dots hits the Golem with all of its strength.
The rage behind its eyes makes it stronger and faster but at the expense of losing his mind. His pickaxe breaks large chunks of the Golem's legs, slowly making it lose its balance as flowing red magma flows out of its open wounds. Another goblin with green skin and blue swirls started to attack the Golem open wounds with great dexterity. Other goblins with normal green skin also attack the golem with all they had. While Azor also did the same.
But with each passing second, another goblin or multiple goblins will die under the feet or hands of the golem. The individual goblins themselves are only mortal rank, so they don't have enough strength to defeat the golem. But the purple skin woman does, so as long as they continue to distract it they can kill it.
As the golem hits the ground, killing another goblin in the process, the woman started to run up the stone arm of the golem. As it reaches its head, its two big eyes and mouth full of red boiling lava. With each new wound the goblins make, more lava comes out of it. Making the terrain worse and increasing the temperature of the surroundings. But the woman cares not, as she channels all of her QI into her hand. Her hand becomes as hard as steel, as her fist meets the golem's head.
The strength behind her punch was enough to break the golem's head, soon a large explosion happen as the golem's head exploded under the force of the punch. Sending the woman flying and lava everywhere. The goblins ran away from the falling golem, its lava blood spilling everywhere and increasing the heat to unbearable levels.
But they have won against this strange monster, they felt their bodies grew stronger, their rank increasing with an infusion of QI and this great victory. The purple woman, now with burned skin thanks to the lava also felt stronger. The smile on her face was hard to hide.
"Amazing battle, you Goblins never cease to amaze me"
The slow clapping of hands enters the goblin's ears, their eyes focusing on its source with pure horror. Standing on top of the dead golem is a man. A man with rock-like skin, gray color hair, and eyes. His eyes are made from black crystals. Within the center of its head is a large central gray color crystal that contains his soul. This is a spirit, to be more precise a stone spirit.
"I did not expect you guys to defeat this guy, but you have given me great insight into its flaws. Thankfully I have more where that came from"
The spirit said, as from the natural form of caves more golems came forward. All different from each other, but they were numerous. The spirit with an evil smile on its face spreads its arms, as it started to control the very earth around him with his QI.
"It's time for our war to continue~"
The spirit declare as all around the Plains Region spirits started to make themselves known. After generations of being away, they have returned with an army of their own, artificial spirits. Automatons in every sense of the word, after all, spirits grew in strength in peace while cultivating their aspect. They left this war because of their low numbers, but they finally found the solution and they were more than happy to join the war once again.
