Lightning Island Part 6

The Ghost continues to follow Mor's lead as they march through the thick jungle. The heavy foliage and difficult terrain did not affect the ethereal soldiers in any way. If the Ghost were by themselves they will be able to reach the lightning hawk village in an hour. But because Mors is leading the way the time need it to reach the village has doubled.

Catox walks over to Second Death. He whispers in an inconspicuous tone.

"Can you also feel it, my lord?"

"Of course, I can. It's hard to miss the feeling of being watched"

"Exactly, the troops have also told me their concerns about feeling watched. Should I command the troops to be at the ready?"

"Allow"

Catox did not respond back as the two of them continue to walk. Catox soon found the time to leave Mor's side and arrive next to a Ghost soldier. The command slowly spread through the unit from Ghost to Ghost. But it was not obvious to untrained eyes that the Ghost have become vigilant.

A soft male voice echoes in the sky. Far enough that it did not reach Mor's ears.

"Looks like the Ghost has felt our presence"

"What do we do then Rushva?"

"We haven't confirmed that Dhan has truly die, but seeing how the other worlder is marching to the village. We can assume that Dhan has left this world."

The group of 100 or so lightning hawks started to between each other at the information provided by Rushva. The second-first strongest male in the village. The words of the lightning hawks clouded their mind and heart. Fear, distain, and hatred started to spread in the group.

Swish!

Rushva extends out his right arm to the side. Grabbing everyone's attention as a result.

"Fear not we can win this battle. We are outnumbered, but we have the high ground. We just need to take out the other worlder. By channeling lightning, I should be able to kill him"

Gasp left the mouths of the Lightning hawks.

"Rushva if you do th-"

"Yes, I know that I will be forfeiting my life. But if I can harm that other worlder and break the barrier around the island. Then my life will be a small life to pray"

"Bu-"

"No if or buts. Everyone get ready, I am about to start"

Rushva raises his spear sky-high. A well-crafted weapon that is enchanted with lightning magic. This kind of weapon can only be made by the chief of the village. A key to opening the barrier around the island. This island for some reason is a center to lightning magic.

A perfect place to create lightning-enchanted weapons, armor, and stronger warriors. But because they are living on top of a magic center. If they didn't have the varier up then forget about making a village here. For everything would have been blown up by the constant lightning strikes.

Rushva controls the magic around him as he started to gather all of it on the tip of his spear. Soon the sky started to darken. The dark storm clouds gather the attention of everyone in the vicinity.

"Everyone get ready! The enemy is coming!"

Mors warns the Ghost as they all get ready to greet the enemy. Mors gathers Qi into his eyes, enchanting his vision. His vision pierces through the foliage of the trees. He could see high up in the sky a group of 100 or so Lightning Hawks. In the center of the group was a tall man with his spear pointed sky-high.

Mors did not need to be an expert in this world power system to know that he can't let that man call forward Lighting. He already had a hard time with a similar enemy yesterday. Mors puts his spear away as he takes out his trusted bow.

Mors aims the bow to the sky as he pulls on the string. He gathers his Qi on the string of the bow as a singular Qi-dense blue arrow form. Mors released the string as the arrow flew toward its target. The arrow pierces through the thick foliage.

Once in the open sky and in vision of everyone, the arrow split off into countless copies. The arrows flew toward the large group of Lightning Hawks.

"Defensive formations! Protect Rushva!"

One of the older Lightning Hawks said as they all got into position. They form a circle around Rushva, and the Lightning Hawks then made a cross with their spears. As all the spears touch each other, lightning started to jump from one person to the other.

Their spears were also enchanted, but not to the same extent as Rushva's spear. The lightning gathers speed and strength with each new jump. Soon a visible shield of lightning protected the flying humanoids. Mor's blue arrows hit the shield before disappearing.

The arrows were not strong enough to pierce the magical shield.

The sound of broken glass echoes on the battlefield.

The roaring thunder of the outside storm announces its presence.

The tears of the sky started to pour down on the island.

Mors looks up at the sky, his face slowly getting wet with rainwater.

"Shit."

Up in the sky, the man who broke the barrier was surrounded by lightning. Like he has become a beacon for magic. His muscles were swollen and his eyes were blue with magic. His heart beating at an unnatural speed. His brain was overloaded with energy and working overtime.

"Let's end this other worlder! Charge!!"

Rushva gave the command as he charge towards Mors, his fellow wing humanoids following close behind. Mors clicks his tongue as he readies another arrow.

"Steady!!"

-----Pov Change-----

Far away from the battlefield, the chief of the Lightning Hawks was looking up at the dark sky. The storm that rain down and the constant roaring of thunder.

"He broke the barrier.. All able body Lightning Hawks grab your weapons! War has arrived at outdoor steps!"
