Chapter 145 Plot

"Do you not need me anymore?"

She had completely broken down and couldn't take it anymore and this was heartbreaking for him. He couldn't bear to see her like this. He didn't want her to feel this way, this was not what he intended.

He had never seen her this way before. He didn't even know what to think anymore because things were just going wrong. He opened his mouth to talk and he blurted out the wrong thing.

"That's not what I meant, zhavia, I'm just trying to keep you safe".

"From what exactly?" She raised her voice at him for the first time In a while. The anger was evident in her tone. "Is this your way of keeping me safe? By fucking sending me away?"

He was no longer clouding her anymore at this moment. His eyes were no longer on her as he pulled his hands from the door and gave her some space.

He didn't want it to be this way. Fuck, he never wanted it to be this way. He just wanted to make sure she doesn't get involved with Meredith. He didn't want a situation whereby she would use her— zhavia. To get whatever she wanted from him.

He ran his hands through his hair as he tried to process how to break it down for her. He tried to figure out how to formulate those words for her. At the moment, she is the angriest he had ever seen and that was the problem. He wasn't sure she was going to process whatever he was going to say with the way she feels.

"I need to take you back". He declared blankly looking at her eyes that never wavered from him again.

"What?"

Before she could utter another word, he was already making a call. He didn't even pay attention to her anymore or listen even listened to what she had to say.

"Get the car ready". He ordered.

"Yes sir". The person on the other end replied without wasting a second.

Zhavia was speechless. She felt her soul and strength creeping out of her body. She felt lifeless and ached like hell in her chest. She had never been this embarrassed in her entire life before, all for a man. For fuck's sake she is Zhavia McKay; she is the rare gem of Los Angeles entirely. Her beauty can't be compared to anyone, she is not beauty without brains because she is an asset. She is a woman of power; she virtually commands it. Her words are not taken lightly because whatever comes out of her mouth is an impact. She is the pride of women as a whole; a course to study.

How the hell did she become this helpless before this man? Why does he make her feel this way? Why does she feel like a whole different person when she is with him? Why does she always feel this urge to succumb to him whenever she is around him?

"Why?"

Was the only thing she uttered when he took her arm in his and opened the door behind her.

It was as if her voice was not heard at all.

"Nicholas".

She called him as he pulled her to another unknown hallway that was solely different from the first one they came from. This one was darker and more like a secret passage that led somewhere. He didn't respond to her.

" Nicholas".

She called him again trying to catch her breath; his steps were a lot faster than hers so, catching up with her heels hastened her breath. This time, his grip on her wrist tightened in a more hostile way; like he was fighting his demons to try to block her out of his head. This was taking a lot more from him than he could even imagine.

"P-Please don't...".

At this point, her pleas were the only sound he could hear. This was the second time he had heard her plead so desperately. Zhavia would never plead— not unless she is drunk. Maybe he heard wrong.

"Please don't send me away, Nicholas".

His heart ached for the first time in his life. He felt his heart stop in his chest. This was exactly what he was trying to avoid. Hopefully, he prayed that it wasn't going to come to this but now she's finally done it. She's finally figured out how to poke that hidden soft spot just by the corner of his heart.

He stopped walking with her hand still in his grip and released a deep breath. His face was still faced forward and his back was turned to her. Her breath was still unstable as she tried to steady it.

"I-i can change, I will try, please, I can't go on one more day without you I beg you".

She clung to his hand with desperation as she tried to look into his eyes; maybe if she could stare into those eyes that once craved her like life itself, she would be able to stir up those feelings again but he kept avoiding her eyes over and over again.

"Stop, please... Stop". He managed as he closed his eyes to try to suppress the piercing pain he felt in his chest.

"You can't make this more difficult than it already is, Zhavia".

At this point, she knew it was all pointless trying to stop him now. His mind was already made up, he didn't want her anymore. Slowly, that feeling was coming back in. Her head was swiveling. Her breath was ranged. Her heart has been split into two all over again.

She didn't even feel anything when he started pulling her again. She couldn't even see anything before her because of the tears that clouded her vision. All she felt was the concentrated pain in her chest.

They got to the end of the hallway and two bodyguards guarded the door that led to another exit in the house. They bent their head in greeting when they saw the dark man walking toward them.

In a split second, the door was open and the stairway was the first thing that came after the door. It was large and spiral. Chandeliers dangled above it making the place bright and beautiful. This place was more like a castle because its features were just indescribably ancient and modernized in some kind of unexplainable way.

Her head was in a fog. She was silent throughout their walk. She didn't even know when they came down the stair, she just saw herself walking out of the fortress. Her entire body trembled. This man gave her a reason to live again and singlehandedly ripped her heart right off her chest.

At that minute, she yanked her hand off his and got into the car. She was way too weak to speak but she managed a single sentence.

"The moment I step my feet out of this estate, don't ever come looking for me ever again".

His pulse quickened to her words. He watched her from the glass of the car as she winds up and the car began its pace out of the estate.

Genevieve landed on her bed with a loud groan as she closed her eyes inhaling and exhaling exhausted and frustrated.

Aliyah made her stress her body for the first time in her life. Never had she ever had to do something as stressful as carrying someone.

She returned home a few hours ago and she even took her to her guest room. She wondered what Aliyah thought in her head and why she got that wasted but she going to figure out the next day. At that point, all she just wanted was to catch her breath.

The next day,

Genevieve didn't waste any minute. She ran straight to the room that held aliyah. She was already up when she got there.

Her eyes widened when she saw her.

"Genevieve?" She called more like a question, confused at how she got there.

"Hey".

" What am I doing in your house?"

Genevieve rolled her eyes at her words.

"You got drunk last night, so I brought you here".

Aliyah ran her fingers through her hair as she tried to get up. She couldn't remember a damn thing from the previous night.

Genevieve walked towards her placing her hands on her shoulder as she spoke.

"Girl, what happened?"

She let out a frustrating sigh as she spoke.

"Tyler broke up with me".

"Wait, what?" She exclaimed.

"You heard".

"H-how? why?"

Aliyah was off the bed now. She walked to a table that held coffee and started turning it into the mug next to it.

"Apparently, he's found himself a new lover". She spoke nonchalantly, but the hurt was in her eyes.

" Oh my God, liyah, I'm so sorry".

She shook her head.

"It's fine, I have heard what Nicholas did to you. you're pretty brave still standing so lively".

It was supposed to be a compliment, but Genevieve clearly didn't see it that way. She wasn't smiling, but there was an evil look on her face.

"Oh, he will be mine. I've got it all planned out".

Aliyah furrowed her brows.

"What do you mean?"

There was a smile on Genevieve's face as she spoke.

"I met with klaus today, and soon enough, I would be able to get both him and tiger on my side".

Aliyah shook her head in disbelief as she smiled.

"Stop daydreaming".

" who is?"

Genevieve had the grimmest look on her face and Aliyah's smile was quickly replaced with utter disbelief.

"I don't think you understand what you're saying, those two are his most trusted people".

Genevieve scoffed. "Even the most trusted people in your life let you down eventually, don't they?"

There was this dangerous smile on her face as she spoke. "We could get to him through them".

"And you think anyone can get through Nicholas?" She asked getting sweaty just by mentioning his name.

Genevieve frowned as she thought of all the impossibilities.
