Her steps were swift as she quickly walked into her room. She wasn't even thinking straight anymore. She remembered the look on his face as she walked into the room, she remembered how disappointed he was, somehow, she saw the hurt in his eyes.
It was clear that he really wanted to dine with her, she saw the joy and excitement in his eyes when she walked out of the elevator. She saw the way he looked at her like a prized possession, how her organs jumped for joy when he stared at her.
She released a deep sigh as she sat on her bed. The only place that she had gradually become accustomed to. He was still in her head, all she could think of. She remembered how he teased her, how he ate, his voice. She closed her eyes and lay down flat with her back. Her legs were at the edge of the bed and her head, at the center. Her hands played nonchalantly wide apart by her side. Her thoughts were completely blank as all she could see was him. What he said to her was all she could hear.
'I can make you do so many things but I certainly will not forcefully make you do what doesn't please you.
She opened her eyes this time to the chandelier directly above her and she just stared blankly. Her lips parted, his name was just on her lips. She remembered how she called him and how he reacted to her.
She wanted to tell him that she was willing to accept his terms and conditions. She wanted to tell him that she was willing to be his empress, that she was ready to do whatever he wanted her to do.
What the fuck zhavia?
That will never happen.
She quickly sat up and shook her head as she heard the slight thud on the door. Her eyes strolled to where the sound came from. Bennett walked in. Her eyes were directly on him and he knew that she expected him because Nicholas had asked for him and ordered him to give her the phone she wanted.
"My master wanted you to have this, ma'am". He stretched out his hand and gestured the maids into the room. They were just two and they wore a different attire from the other maids. They were his personal maids assigned for only him but this time, they were the ones attending to her.
Bennett was not surprised at all. A lot had been going on and this wouldn't be the first weird thing this week. All of a sudden, a woman that just came into his life had so many privileges.
Is he in love with her?
Is it even possible for Nicholas Alviero Ross to fall in love?
Never, it's not even possible at all.
Bennett's thoughts were eating him up slowly and he just kept it all in. He didn't dare say anything, he couldn't just make assumptions and say it out loud.
The maids were in pure white. Their white was so spotless that anyone that saw them would think they were painted. Their skin was spotless and their hair was short. They both each held a box in their hand and walked towards zhavia that was on the bed.
"Which would you prefer, ma'am". They asked with their heads bent down. They didn't dare look at her eyes, of course, they had all heard what she did to the previous maid that was assigned to her.
"I just need my phone, a phone, any phone". There was clearly frustration etched in her voice. She was in no mood to start picking and choosing. She just wanted to speak to the only person that gets her in the entire world. If she had been told that she would ever miss that annoying brat, she would never have believed it in a million years.
Somehow she felt like this was the universe trying to teach her a lesson to always value what she had and to know the importance of every single thing.
They all shivered as she stood up. She walked to the large couch at the center of the room and sat. They all followed behind her and stood in front of her when she settled down on the couch. They kept the two boxes on the table and crossed their hands forward waiting for her orders.
Her legs were crossed, and she sat in a very bossy way and observed the items in front of her. "Open them". She ordered. Her voice was low and commanding.
Bennett just watched as they carried out their jobs professionally. He stood slightly behind them and observed what they did.
One of the boxes contained a phone, and the other contained another item but she wasn't interested in checking that. All she wanted was a phone to call. She wanted to be sure that Sofia was still alive. That woman adored her her entire life. She loved her with her entire soul. Her heart thudded in her chest as she thought of the worse. Sofia could be so scared and panicked to an extent of committing suicide. She couldn't even imagine what Sofia was capable of when she panicked.
For the first time in her life, she cared so much for someone. At this moment, she just wanted to hear her annoying voice once again. She didn't even care if it was annoying or not, she just wanted to hear her speak.
She stood up from the couch and walked towards the balcony, leaving the two maids and Bennett in the room. She dialed the number Sofia made her rehearse when they visited her birth home the previous month. It was as if she knew that she was going to get kidnapped. Sofia kept repeating the same number until it was stuck in her head and now she couldn't even forget it matter how she tried.
"Do you need anything else, ma'am"? Bennett asked because it looked like she needed some privacy to talk to the person she was calling.
"No, you may go". She ordered as she placed the phone on her ear. Her heart raced in her chest while the call was ongoing. She had never been this nervous before in her life. The feeling of hope, the feeling of patience. She didn't even know when she started moving forward and backward on the balcony.
She heard her own heartbeat in her head. She saw the line drop as there was no answer and it was immediately sent straight to voicemail. She was tensed. She was literally panicking. She would never forgive herself if anything happened to Sofia.
"Pick up the phone damn it". She muttered feeling sick in the stomach with worry.
She dialed the number again and waited again as it rang. She held her breath without even realizing it. Her fingers were crossed. She was patiently and silently hoping but there was still no reply.
Just as she was about to go completely insane and think of the worse, she heard her voice. That annoying voice that she had become used to.
"Hello?" Her voice was low and croaked. The stress was evident in her voice and with the way she sounded, it was clear that she was sick.
"Sofia". Zhavia called her by her name. And for the first time since she started making the call, she release a deep breath of relief. She heard the other side of the line go completely silent as she heard a little whimper.
"Zhavia? Oh my God, zhavia... Where are you? How are you? Are you okay? Are you hurt? Where the hell are yo....." She broke down as she started crying on the phone. Zhavia heard her silent sobs and a smile escaped her lips.
"Thank goodness you're okay, Sofia". Her voice was low and for the first time in her life, calm. She doesn't know how to express excitement, she still had her straight face on. " I was a little bit worried". She muttered. She never showed vulnerability to anyone but the man that controlled all of her emotions just by staring at her.
"You didn't even call, I thought something had happened to you". Sofia managed, trying to recover her voice and hide the tears but she wasn't trying hard enough because her voice gave her up.
"You don't sound good, Sofia, have you been working without taking a break?". She avoided the question. She didn't want to bring up Nicholas at the moment.
"I've been so worried, zhavia. When are you coming home?" She asked out of the blue also avoiding the question. They both didn't want to talk about what had been going on in their lives. They just needed a little break.
"Not anytime soon, I guess. I need some time to settle some things with Nicholas and then I'll be back". She spoke like she was assuring. The last thing she could do right now is give Sofia some assurance and a little hope.
"Okay, I'll be waiting". She sounded excited. Zhavia could already imagine the smile on her face.
"Oh, and Sofia, take five". She said as she ended the call.
There was a smile on her face. She felt fulfilled. She could now think straight. She looked at the view in front of her and closed her eyes to breathe in the air.
Somehow, a little weight had been lifted from her shoulders.
She felt at peace.
