Alexios and his companions went aboard a large ship he bought and renovated to fit his standards which were quite strict. He would only bring along the crew, his companions and 15 soldiers since the ship wasn't the largest. They were looking for Valyrian steel weapons and more precisely clues on how they made Valyrian steel. The prospect on finding possible dragon eggs like the history books talked about enticed Alexios greatly. The expedition took roughly a week and a half to get to their destination.
Looking at the devastation that was done, it was terrifying to say the least. How much death and destruction had really happened? The expedition continued for a few days finding little to nothing till the group came along a large tower. The structure was tipped diagonally and looked as if it would fall down any second. Alexios, William, and Garold, the three fastest and most agile; decided to scout the area for anything. When finding an entrance and entering, the three stood shocked and stunned beyond belief.
What lay before them was not an old dusty tomb, but a dusty majestic area filled with old statues, tens of different sized chest, and large doors. It was hard to move around as the place could fall down any time so they checked the chests fist. In total, twelve large chests the size of a full grown men lay there cramped together.
They found four chests filled with gold which they tried to bring back to the ship only to be exhausted after doing so. The environment was working against them as gravity made it harder.
After a short rest, they looked in the other chests to find six filled with jewels, metal ingots, and a few daggers with encrusted handles. They brought each chest back and this time had Toros help from the edge of the ship. The last two were a mystery as they were locked.
William started to work on lockpicking the two chests. While Alexios and Garold looked around searching for anything else of value. Alexios entered a large door only to look around in amazement and shock. Weapons were laid around on the ground in a messy manner. Some on the walls where they probably were all originally.
One of the armor stands still had armor on it and looked similar to the old Valyrian armor that was described about in history books. Recounting the Targaryen's armor appearance when they appeared in Westeros. The other stands lay bare which were disappointing. As that was happening, Garold was looking through the doorway to the room he went to find the entire room filled with bones, some human, some not.
The room was huge and yet the mountain of bones filled most of it.
Just as he was stunned, he noticed some of the bones move just in time to see a red eye look at him under some of the bones just to quickly disappear. He quickly closed the door and looked for Alexios. "Alexios! We need to leave now. I think we're not alone in here, more specifically in that room." Garold said while pointing at the door he was at moments before. Alexios looked at the door, it wasn't that he didn't believe Garold, it was just that nothing should be alive here.
He decided not to test fate though as his haul was already very large compared to what he was hoping for. Sad though he wasn't able to find what he wanted to find most, the dragon eggs but it would happen if he truly was meant to have one. Alexios and Garold started taking the weapons and armor to the ship while William decided to bring alone the two chests. After about five minutes of hauling the items, a tapping sound could be heard from the very room Garold scouted. Alexios swung his spear to face the room while Garold took out his bow and William got his longsword.
They all took steady quiet steps towards the door. Only ten feet away, the door broke off and in the doorway was a… a dragon's head. The three took a step back, the dragon's head the size of a full grown man. It looked at the three with a low growl before it started to inhale air. Alexios seeing this pushed the others into the other room he had gone into before. As soon as the door was closed, flames engulfed the entire room the three were in before.
William was panting as Garold screamed out. " what in the actual blazing hell is a dragon doing here! I thought they were extinct!" Alexios wasn't sure how it was possible but said the only thing that came to mind. "Maybe it was bonded with the owner of the tower and now protects this place. I don't know, maybe it just found this place and thought it was nice? Haha."
Alexios laughed trying to ease the situation but then spoke in a somber tone. "I'm going to go out that door, and I'm going to kill that dragon if it wont let us leave. I don't expect you to face this beast…" Before he could continue, Garold raised his hand. "Shut up lord, in all due respect. We knew your life was one of adventure and danger and yet we kept following. If we didn't follow you now then we would regret it later. Let's go kill a dragon." Garold said and as he looked at William, who in return nodded with a smile.
With that little exchange the three got ready at the door, Alexios grabbed the door handle and realized how hot it was so he cooled it off with a cool touch using magic. When the door opened, the group looked at the dragon who looked back and then the group ran at the dragon while Garold was shooting arrows at the dragon. The dragon's head was the only thing in the main hall since its body couldn't fit into the place. When all but one arrow finally went into the left eye of the dragon, the dragon decided to breath fire again. This time though, Alexios raised his hand and out shot a blast of ice and cold wind. The two forces met and steam spread across the room.
Alexios crouched slightly with his spear at the ready since the long neck of the dragon could mean the dragon's sharp large teeth could come from anywhere. Garold was right behind him with his bow ready with a slight sweat on his forehead. William was gone but that was nothing new since he worked best at surprise attacks and burst amounts of damage. With a sudden motion, the dragon's open mouth appeared and Alexios stabbed his spear forward stabbing it into the mouth of the dragon. With it, William shot multiple arrows into the mouth.
A yelp of pain and the dragon retracted. Alexios, tired of the steam, used a gust of wind for the steam. When the steam was gone, they saw that the dragon had retreated back to the room it came from and was laying down after placing something in front of the doorway to stop the three from coming in. "*sigh* I can't believe it gave up just like that." Alexios said slightly disappointed from a lacking fight.
"Well we could just use some magic and go inside to kill it." " It isn't worth it. Be a shame to kill such a rare species anyways. Let's head out of here with the remaining things." The group of three boarded the ship again with the remaining items and left. Alexios, Garold, and William were tired mentally so they decided to call it a night and go to sleep while the others were on watch duty. The ride back was nerve racking for the sailors and soldiers but a quiet one.
Lili, Reana and Toros talked on the way back to the free cities. "Do you think it's true what they said, I mean an actual dragon?" Lili questioned with doubt filled into her voice. "I don't know but I've never known Alexios to lie about anything that was important. Nor have I known the two brothers to be so pale before haha!" Toros laughed out loud after smacking his knee.
It soon turned into a somewhat jovial mood. Like that, the group now had enough Valyrian steel to work with and enough valuables to fund them till they were grey and old even if they didn't need them. They made their weapons, Alexios had a great sword like his previous life with a dragon engraved in the handle. A ruby in its pommel gives it a very intimidating look with its size and design. He named it Dragon's Blood thinking it should be a fitting name.
Toros had a great axe made for himself with his blacksmithing sigil engraved into its shaft, two interlocking hammers with a sword between them. A tigereye gem in the pommel really finishes its look. He held it proudly for all to see when he finished it. "I name thee, Bone Ripper!" To which everyone cringed and backed away slowly at his naming sense of his weapon.
Garold had two weapons made, a weirwood bow for himself as well as a longsword, it reminded Alexios of your typical broadsword but Garold insisted it was a longsword. It had the simple engraving showing a breeze in the wind or at least that's what Garold said. To Alexios it looked like wavy lines that turned into a swirl. Its pommel held an emerald gemstone with a pointed end. After a few swings he said he would call it Natures Wrath while his bow was named Natures Breeze. Alexios just shrugged and said it was his weapons.
Lili insisted on just having a rapier for swift and precise movements which was fine. She had a sapphire in the design which matched perfect with her eyes. She sheathed it and whispered it's name. "Sea's Bounty" She said it was inspired since they retrieved the materials while on the sea.
With all the gems, Alexios was catching on with the trend so he grabbed a garnet and dragon glass shard. He gave the garnet to Reana, and the dragon glass to William. Both thanked him and Reana added the garnet to her spear putting it not on the end but near the blade where it connected with the shaft. right with some red and black feathers that were at the base of the blade portion of the spear. Reana smiled and hugged Alexios before saying, "I'll name it Dragon's Fiery." Alexios was quite shocked but just patted her back glad she liked it.
William spilt the dragon glass in two for his two daggers. William also got a Valyrian sword but with no gemstone in it to William. William at a simple design for the sword that resembled a mixture between a curved saber and a scimitar with a black handle piece. The name engraved into the blades base, 'Silent Crier'. His Two daggers didn't have names as William just chuckled saying they were bastard twins.
Alexios still had many Valyrian weapons to either smelt down or just hold onto for the time being. He now had after converting his metals to gold in the chests and all the valuables he sold and traded; giving him close to a total of 12,000,000 gold Dragons after adding to what he already had. Many would call him a rich man, and Alexios would agree with them. The years passed by as Alexios focused on developing himself and his soldiers. When he turned fourteen, He bought five thousand unsullied from Astapor and turned them into his personal army.
Reforming them with his other remaining troops into something similar to the legions he led in his past life. His companions becoming his commanders and himself the general of his troops. He took some time to learn low Valyrian, High Valyrian, Dothraki Lekh. He even spent time trying to learn some old tongue however he can through scrolls and books he can find. Like that time went on with his companions and his soldiers busying themselves under the reforms he made.
