Calhoun took hold of Madeline's hand and went to the other side of the castle where people didn't often step into or were not allowed to step into without the King's permission. The people in the castle knew that the King had wings, so did his relatives, but Calhoun was not going to let her family know about it.
His hand felt warm on her skin as he tugged her hand.

She wondered if family was important to Calhoun, which was why he was making an effort to meet her grandparents.
