Mephisto, age 21. The first of the police organization to ever gain an opportunity to live.

"In 1987, the police were rare. Nobody ever signed up for the job, even if the salary was quite high. Why?

"Once you ever enter the life of the police, you will never come back out..ever again." Said by a local shopkeeper.

Many civilians suspect that the head chief of the police, Lucian, is a suspicious man.

The civilians wanted to report him to the government, but the only thing? No evidence was found.

The bodies of all those police officers over the years just completely, utterly..disappeared.

Nobody knows what happens to the officers.

Deep within the bowels of the police station, secrets are to be found, and mysterious are to be solved.

Which is why, Mephisto is going to be the one to solve them. He has succeeded in his mission,

granting him a chance to survive."

"This is utter rubbish." Mephisto sighed, draping an arm over his eyes. The newspaper got everything wrong. First of all, Mephisto was sure that the officers that disappeared over the years were just sent away to higher and stronger stations. Second, Lucian wasn't a suspicious man. He gave the officers a home, a job.

"Can you blame them though, Mephy-chan?" The man laying beside Mephisto drawled out. The silver-haired officer turned to glare at the man. "Cosmo, stop calling me that." Mephisto rolled his eyes.

"Never~! The only time I won't call you that is when the world is ending." Cosmo replied cheekily. Standing up, Cosmo shook his head, strands of his black hair falling into his face. "I'm bored, Mephy-chan.." He whined, giving the man besides him puppy eyes. "Not my problem." Mephisto responded.

"But! Do you think that Lucian will give us a mission anytime soon?" Cosmo brightened up at the thought.

"Probably not." Mephisto grimaced, remembering the dreadful time he had to clean the blood and grime out of his shirt. The silver-haired then narrowed his eyes, suddenly thinking of something.

"Also, why do you call other people by their real names, but call me by..'Mephy-chan'"? Mephisto wrinkled his nose. Cosmo turned around and shot him a bright grin. "It's because you're special!" He responded.

"How so?" Mephisto deadpanned. "Well..we go on missions together!" Cosmo said. Mephisto sighed, but still he got to admit that the black-haired was correct. They had been on missions together for as long as anyone could remember. "Fine." Mephisto replied, turning away and instead focused his attention on the damned newspaper. Cosmo pouted, but didn't say anything either.

"You do know that I can keep you compan-" Mephisto started, but was caught off by a loud crash from the records room. "What was that?!" Cosmo jumped up, clearly happy that something was happening.

"Wait, Cosmo, don't.." Mephisto trailed off as the excited black-haired already raced off. "Curiosity kills the cat.." He muttered, following Cosmo to the records room.

"…Now you've done it."

"Oh, shut it! It's not my fault. Don't just stand there, come on."

"We better leave this place before the police come."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. Get on with it! Move!"

"Don't tell me what to do."

"JUST MOVE, YOU BASTARD!"

"Just this once. When we get back to the base, you're gonna regret saying that to me."

"Whatever, you know that the police are slackers right? They can't even catch us- WOAH!"

"Huh? What happened? …Oh, you piece of.."

"Might I remind you that's not my fault. Stop talking to me."

"Yeah, I can't believe you broke THAT."

"SHUT IT!"

"Let's just get out of here."

" What happened to the records room?" Mephisto inquired, yawning as he stood behind Cosmo. The black-haired looked around. "Sir, there's a couple of books that are damaged, but nothing serious." Cosmo reported, saluting. He paused. "Also there's a broken plate on the floor, which I have no idea why it's here. Maybe someone was going to eat but instead walked into the records room?" Cosmo collapsed in a fit of giggles. Mephisto sighed. "Cosmo, this may be a theft scene. This isn't the time for laughing." He said.

Cosmo looked at him. "Aw, cm'on, Mephy-chan, don't be so serious!" Cosmo scratched the back of his neck. Mephisto looked around and noticed that there was indeed a plate broken. Deep in thought, Mephisto walked over to the shattered plate and knelt down. "Be careful, Mephy-chan! Don't hurt yourself!" Cosmo called over to him. Mephisto nodded, irritated. He reached towards the plate, then stilled when his hand was just a few centimeters away. "Hmmm..where have I seen this plate before?" He muttered under his breath. "Cosmo." Mephisto said. The black-haired immediately appeared beside him.

"Yes, sir?" Cosmo giggled. Mephisto blew out a frustrated breath. "Cosmo, have you ever seen this plate before?" The silver-haired asked. Cosmo looked at the plate. "Can't say I have, but to me, all plates look the same. Should we name them?" He asked, brightening up. "Name them..?" Mephisto said, confused.

"Yeah! I herby name this one..Broken-chan!" Cosmo's eyes were sparking by now. Mephisto massaged his temples. He was actually working together with an idiot, how fascinating.
