Chapter 68: The EMP Electromagnetic Pulse?

With everything ready except for the opportune moment, the notification for Cat's Eye's mission was sent out, and they now awaited the imminent day.

Riveted by the upcoming operation, Rebecca expressed a desire to participate. However, Zhang Fan did not consent.

"Why not, Zhang Fan?" Rebecca pouted, looking at him with a mixture of disappointment and confusion.

"Alright, Rebecca, your current task is to adapt to your newfound abilities and master these two skills. Once you're comfortable with them, I plan to upgrade you further. Remember, as a doctor, you're an indispensable member of our team," Zhang Fan explained, patting her shoulder earnestly.

"Am I indispensable?" Rebecca's eyes brightened with purpose. Determined to showcase her best to Zhang Fan, she resolved to become unforgettable to him.

With a goal in mind, Rebecca stopped fixating on the current mission. Meanwhile, Little Tear subtly gestured to Zhang Fan, her actions hinting at his growing aptitude in dealing with women.

On the night of the operation, precisely at 10:30 PM, Zhang Fan and Little Tear arrived on the rooftop of the Jiu Duan Art Museum, ready and waiting. Inside the museum, however, not a single guard was in sight – a strategy orchestrated by Jun Fu.

"Ah, tonight I will finally see the true face of Cat's Eye!" Jun Fu, stationed in the surveillance room, gazed at the monitors with smug assurance, confident in the advanced security system.

"Do you want some? My girlfriend made this coffee," Jun Fu offered, pouring himself a cup from a thermos he brought. The guards declined, hiding their disdain for Jun Fu's bragging.

Jun Fu's girlfriend – the arsonist? Indeed, in a dramatic turn of events, his girlfriend turned out to be the woman who had been wronged by a deceitful lover and had resorted to arson. Jun Fu, it seemed, had a quick way with matters of the heart.

As the minutes ticked by, Jun Fu's anticipation turned to anxiety. At 10:59 PM, would Cat's Eye make their move?

Meanwhile, Zhang Fan and Little Tear were gearing up to infiltrate the museum. Suspended upside down, Little Tear opened a window from the outside, and as they entered, Zhang Fan activated the jammer, temporarily crippling the security system. They had five minutes to steal "The Little Girl and the Lighthouse" – a race against time.

Reaching their target, they discovered two hidden alarm devices beneath the painting. The theft would trigger a lockdown, sealing all exits with iron shutters. The situation was critical.

"Trust me, leave this to me," Zhang Fan reassured Little Tear, who was on the brink of panic. He quickly found the only way out – a ventilation duct blocked by a massive fan. They had to stop it without alerting the guards.

Suddenly, sparks flew from the security devices, plunging the museum into darkness. Zhang Fan had triggered an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) – a drastic measure but their only chance.

"What just happened?" Little Tear asked in bewilderment.

"Just a simple EMP," Zhang Fan replied casually, leaving Little Tear astounded by the magnitude of his actions.

With the mission complete, Zhang Fan and Little Tear, now with the painting, left the museum unscathed, leaving behind a baffled and locked-in Jun Fu and his team.

"How did they do it? Where's the painting? And where's Cat's Eye?" Jun Fu lamented, staring at an empty wall and a Cat's Eye calling card. His confidence in the impenetrable security system had been utterly shattered.

Back at the cafe, Little Tear and Little Ai demanded an explanation from Zhang Fan about the night's events. Zhang Fan, with a hint of pride in his voice, simply stated, "It was nothing more than a straightforward use of an EMP."

Little Tear gasped, realizing the enormity of Zhang Fan's capabilities. Had he truly harnessed the power of an EMP, a phenomenon usually associated with nuclear detonations? Zhang Fan's abilities were becoming increasingly formidable.
