YEAR 1778

A continuous stomping of a foot resounded in an empty room of a grand castle. As a result, it produced a calm yet fearful sound. It was evident through this continuous foot stomping that the sound producer was impatient, angry, furious yet calm.

"Tell your auld king that he is given just two more seconds. If I he doesn't come out of that hole he calls a chamber, he'll have to meet me in my territory." The calm but anger filled man threatened the available Royal body of archers who are the king's body guards.

"King Fergus, the third has decided not to see you, Advocate Kendrew." A white haired man in his 60s, who was in the midst of the archers said, raising an eyelid. He was the king's courtier, Sir Lachlan Edward.

The so called Advocate Kendrew chuckled and then a smirk rested on his face after the chuckles died down. "Fine then. Since he doesn't want us to talk here, he should see me at my courtyard." The Advocate Kendrew said, flashing a last charming smile before turning to leave.

"Stop!!!"

The command of an old man echoed in the room and everyone recognized this voice. It was the king. The Royal archers marched to the king who was descending from the stairs while, the so called Advocate Kendrew who was on all white, turned back and smirked evilly.

"If it isn't our very own auld Fergus." Advocate Kendrew announced happily. He then brought out a cigar from his pocket and placed it in between his lips.

"You have no respect son of no man." The king mocked, taking his seat on his throne. If this young man could play the game of a mockingbird then, the old king could do that also.

Advocate Kendrew didn't let the words get to him, besides he was used to it. He has been called the Son Of No Man all his life in Scotland so, why should it irk him now?

He clicked his fingers at a maid and pointed to his cigar in between mouth. The maid looked at the king and then at Advocate Kendrew, with shaky hands.

"Go get him what he wants maiden. I see that he can't even afford a lighter for his cigar he carries around." The king snorted and the maid did his bidding. She got the lighter and lit Advocate Kendrew's Cigar.

Advocate Kendrew puffed a smoke in the air and smiled. He then turned to the smiling king and chuckled. "Where is my wife?" He asked, sounding gruesomely. With these four words he had managed to instill fear in everyone around, well, except the courtier.

"What wife are you talking about, you scumbag?!" The king yelled, loosing his patience. The courtier pressed the shoulders of the king, calming him down.

"I just asked you a question calmly and here you are barking." The Advocate said and the eyes of the onlookers widen. Why not? This common man was calling their king a dog. "Do you know one thing my mentor taught me? It is that whenever someone yells when it is uncalled for, then the person is either being defensive or afraid." He puffed another smoke again. "Why are you scared, Fergus?"

The faces of everyone became horrific. Every person in all of Stirling knew who Advocate Kendrew, the son of no man was. Gutsy! Annoying! Fearless! But, him standing up to the King of Stirling was totally unbelievable.

"How dare you?!" The king yelled, standing up abruptly from his throne. He removed his crown and threw it at the Advocate.

"Hahahaha…" Advocate Kendrew laughed evilly. He caught the crown and wore it to the dismay of everyone. 'He dare wore the crown of the throne of Stirling?' Servants and those around thought. "Thanks for the early enthronement. After all, I am Princess Rowena's husband." The Advocate smirked.

The room became silent for a minute and then, the so called Princess Rowena ran to the Advocate with tears in her eyes. "Sir Kendrew." She called as she ran to him.

"Och! Hold her down!" The king ordered but, do the royal archers dare touch what belongs to Advocate Kendrew?

"Rowena, stay where you are." Advocate Kendrew instructed bringing her movements to a halt. She was standing in middle of her father's throne and where her husband stood. "You shall come to me after your father hands you over to me with his own hands." He stated, looking the king straight to his eyes.

"But I…." Rowena wasn't done talking when she suddenly lost consciousness and fainted.

"Rowena!" Advocate Kendrew yelled, throwing his smoke away.

"Princess Rowena!" The king yelled in horror.

"Princess!" The others yelled.

Her maids suddenly came in with the royal nurse and in the blink of an eye, Rowena's limp body was surrounded by people who cared about her.

"Give her space please." The nurse said, permitting just the king and Advocate Kendrew to stay around. "Take her to her room, please." The nurse requested to anyone and Advocate Kendrew who offered to lift her was stopped by the courtier.

"You should leave after causing such a ruckus, Advocate Kendrew." He suggested, bold enough to meet Kendrew's cold gaze.

"Say that to me one more time." Kendrew threatened.

"This isn't the time to fight. The princess has been born as an unlucky child. She has a disease inside of her and I have been watching her since she was little. My king, she might die if the flower is not brought." The nurse said, wiping the sweaty face of the princess Rowena with her leine cloth.

"What are you saying? This isn't making sense. First move her to her room." The king ordered and one archer carried her. Advocate Kendrew didn't know whether to stay or leave.
