The Cost of Immortality.

What would you do if you where grated Immortality? Some may think of it is a blessing and others a curse. This all depends on perspective, if you were granted a choice to be immortal but at a great cost, what would you do? Well, meet Rob, just your average nerd who fantasizes about immortality and was actually granted it! But in exchange, he has to destroy the worlds of his Masters Rival. */I don't want to spoil too much, but this Is basically a story about an average guy being sent to another world(Magic based) and only granted a unique type of immortality, in exchange he has to destroy the world. The novel is about how he goes about this and how he overcomes various challenges in order to do so.*/ /*It will be a slow start as I want this to be as realistic as possible (It's obviously difficult to destroy a world without being OP), he starts with nothing and has to overcome many different challenges in order to achieve his goal. */ *All suggestions and ideas about the book are welcome!! If you spot any issues in a chapter please let me know so I can update it I will try release more than 1 chapter a week from Monday to Friday, this can change depending on how busy I am at work.* *The cover image is not mine, all credit goes to the creator, If you would like me to remove it, please let me know*

Ch15.Getting Ready.

After running out of the bar and back to my little house in the slums, I have realized that I don't really have any money to buy ingredients or even any tools that I can use to brew the beer. Well I guess first thing in the morning, I will go and properly explore the town. I think it is long overdue that I get a better understanding of where I am. I mean I don't even know what this world is called, or even the name of the country I am in.

In the morning, I left the house to look around for some ingredients and tools that I will need to brew beer. As I was walking through some crowds I would 'unintentionally' bump into anyone who looked like they had heavy pockets, I would try and steal some money this way. I know there are easier ways to steal, like just robbing someone's house, but I want to practice using this body and see if I can bring certain animal instincts to use in a human body.

I have been practicing using the passive 'stealth' of the Panther and the flexible and quick hands of the Monkey, it goes without saying that I have been trying to use my 'Camoflauge' Symbol, but since I still don't have much excess Magical Energy, I can only use the very base passive of the symbol and change only certain features, such as skin and hair.

I basically just made it look like I was Bald and then added the illusion that I had a full beard so that I looked like a small adult. This will help in case I get caught, then I can slip away and change back in order to avoid getting caught.

After spending the afternoon looking around at various stores and doing some pickpocketing, I have actually made an impressive haul. So let me explain a few of my discoveries in my trip today.

The town I am in is called Stratos Town and is under the rule of the Stratos Noble family. From what I have heard, most countries are ruled by various Noble families, there is no such thing as a King or Emperor, just the Nobles. They are divided into ranks and lower ranking families are generally under the 'rule' of higher ranking nobles, this is because they have to operate in the territory of higher ranking Nobles . For example there is a Nobel Family who owns the whole country, but is only located in this Countries Main City, then there are smaller families who each govern their own Town or City, all of which are part of this Country.

I am sure it is far more complex than this, but that's all I could gather so far, I don't even know the name of the Noble family who owns this Country, I will probably need to go to a bigger town or city to get more information.

Anyway, more about the town I am in, it is actually surprisingly developed. Things work differently here as basically everything has been made using a process involving magic in some way.

For example there is electricity, but it works differently, everyone has a 'Powerboard' that stores Magical Energy. This Board can power all the lights and appliances in the house. If the 'Powerboard' runs out of Magical Energy, you can pay any official mage to charge it up, or if you have awakened your own energy, and you have enough, you can use your own energy to slowly recharge it.

The last piece of information I have looked up is the currency of this world is split into two systems, one for Mages and one for non-Mages. I wasn't able to gain much information on the Mages currency, but from what I could gather it seems to be based on a Magical Cryptocurrency type of system, I will find out more about this when I become an Official Mage.

There is nothing special about the non-Mage system, it is as I expected, Coin based. 100 Bronze = 1 Silver, 100 Silver = 1 Gold and 100 Gold = 1 Zircon. There is a gem based system after the standard three coins, but I couldn't gather any information on that, It seems only the rich have access to that.

I have been looking for the various ingredients I will need to make some beer, but have yet to find any malt extract, so it looks like I will have to just do the basic Pineapple Beer and Apple Cider. Surprisingly this world has a huge range of different fruits, and I was able to find decent variations of them.

They basically look and taste the same, they just have different names, the apple is called a elppa and the Pineapple is called a Elppaen. I will need to experiment a lot before I present my Alcohol for sale, so I have bought twenty 10L buckets to use during the brewing process, a ton of different types of Fruit, Sugar and I had to steal a portable 'Powerboard' as that was too expensive and it would take me too long to steal enough coin to buy one.

I must say I am getting really good at stealing lately! It could just be because the security in most houses are really pathetic though. Anyway I also grabbed some appliances that I will need, they include a burner to heat the water up, and a water generator, this device is amazing, it hooks up to a tap and uses some magical process to generate clean water! I have no idea about the rules regarding this but I will definitely study this when I get the chance.

I lastly bought a mattress to sleep on, even though I am used to sleeping on the ground, I definitely miss the comfort of sleeping in a bed.

After I bought, transferred and set everything up at my house, I started mixing up the first batch of Beer. I used the same process I used before (VERY Basic explanation), adding hot water to the bucket, then adding sliced up fruit and then add sugar. After mixing everything thoroughly I added more water and the Yeast after that, I sealed the Bucket and then labelled and placed to the side.

I repeated this process using different types of fruit and different proportions of the various ingredients, after completing everything, I just have to wait about a week or so before they are basically ready.

This week I have to locate some bottles that will work for me to complete the carbonation process.

During this week of waiting I have a few goals. First I have to get this body into better shape, so a lot of body weight exercises and cross-fit training, next I should find a library or at least some books so that I can start learning to read and write.

I'm not too hapy with this chapter, something just seems off about it for me...

Any ideas as to what I can change to make it seem more natural?
