Chapter fifteen: the festival

Heaven Alizah Dianne's pov:

I have never seen my father behave like that. The witch called Amora laughed hysterically. "Never, just kill me. Because if you don't l will come for you and when l do l will kill you and your entire family" she said coldly. "Then let's get it done" said my mother. She muted her, and began to drain her energy. Amora face began to turn pale, tears fell from her eyes uncontrollably, she is clearly suffering. If she wasn't muted then she would have been screaming in agony. Not able to bear it anymore, l began to cry too. Then using the last of her power, she flicked her finger, and a seal appeared on my chest. It hurted so much. Before my parents could even do anything, Amora died. And with that l woke up, it was all a dream but it was exactly as it happened. How my mating mark got sealed. My parents did everything they could but they couldn't remove the seal. They soon realized that the seal was the kind of seal that can only be removed by it's caster. But there is an exception, a demon with the power of the phoenix can remove the seal. The only demons with the power of the phoenix are the kings and queens of Dekrish. I don't know how but l know that l would remove this darn seal. I got up and did my daily morning routine. I prepared breakfast for my brothers, kissed them goodbye and set out for the palace.

When l got to the palace, every where was more beautiful than yesterday. The alter, in which the phoenix will be summoned is ready too. But it is pointless to prepare it, without the queen the alter is useless. "Heaven, you are here " Nora shouted as when she saw me. She pulled me into a sisterly hug. " Hey , how are you?" I asked when we pulled from the hug. "I am doing well, thanks to you" she said. "Oh, stop. That was nothing" l said. "Oh come on, if you hadn't saved me yesterday, l would be in bed, not able to move due to intense torture" she said. "You shouldn't be thanking me Nora, l'm your cousin," l said smilingly. "There you are" said Freya. We both turned to her. "What are you both waiting for?, Have you forgotten that we have to help prepare the king for the festival." She said. And you, Heaven you are the king's personal handmaid" she added. Yeah, l might be his personal handmaid but it seems she is the boss here. We all went to the king's room to get him ready.

Eugene's pov:

This festival is pointless, what is the point of celebrating the festival when there is no queen and no phoenix. Then, Lucas knocked the door. I knew he was coming. "Come in, Lucas" l said. " Are you alright, my king?" He asked worriedly. "I'm not okay" l said honestly. "But the people really turned up for the festival" he said. "If the festival wasn't a must to attend, they wouldn't have come. What is the point of this festival when we can't summon the phoenix" l said venomously. Then, Nora, Heaven and Freya entered the room.. l don't know why, l get this feeling whenever l see Heaven. And I don't like this feeling. They all prepared my bath and my clothes. "My king l know l asked you to stay away from the girl but why not test her" Lucas mindlinked me. "I'll try" l said. After dressing me up, l stood in front of the mirror to look at myself. I was dressed in golden coloured clothes, and my hair was dressed beautifully. "You may all leave" l said. "Except you Heaven" and she stopped in her tracks. "Is there something you need me to do, my king?" She said politely. She is the first girl that l've ever met that doesn't have rven the slightest fear for me. "Give me your hand" l ordered. She looked shocked but recomposed herself immediately.
