The ingenious boy answered with an honest smile. "My name is Jerry, here is the town tally you're in the northwest . My grandpa and I found you floating on the seawater near the town. You were alive so my grandpa brought you here."

Ben felt a sharp pain in his chest, he winced and looked at it, his right chest was bandaged. He glanced at the boy. "Thank you."

"Are you hungry? Let me go and tell my grandpa you're awake." Seeing Ben's absent-mindedness, Jerry ran outside.

Ben looked up, the roof was made of leaves, and some of the walls were cracking. He got up and walked to the doorway, he gazed outside and saw children playing around the village. Some women were cooking outside their huts.

"You're awake." Someone spoke.

He swung his neck to look and saw Grandpa approaching.

"Yes." He said. "Thank you."

"Jerry has gone to fetch your medicine and food. Come, inside child."

They both sat on the bamboo bed. "Thank you once again," Ben said.

"Thank God, because how you survive was God's will. You have stayed unconscious for three days on the sea unconsciously and the bullet was inside your chest." Grandpa explained.

"Three days?" Ben was surprised.

"Yes, it was a miracle you fight your life back, it means you still have a lot of things to do in life, and someone you cared about is waiting for you, child."

Ben narrowed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Yes, someone I care about, I can't die now." Ben mused.

"You're from the south?" He asked.

"Yes."

"It'll take you two weeks before you get there, but you'll have to fully heal before you start your journey."

"Thank you for saving my life."

Kim caught her breath before pressing the ring at the door, she was holding a box with a colourful wrapper. Today is Boxing Day.

The door opens. "Happy Boxing Day," Kim said.

"Kim, you're here," Stella said.

She walked inside to join the party. "This for you." She hands over the box to her.

"Aww. That's sweet of you." Stella embraces her. "Come on." She leads her to others.

"Mr. Williams, Merry Christmas," Kim said to Stella's husband, and they both embraced.

"It's good to see you here, though you wouldn't come." Jimi Stella's husband said smiling.

"I wouldn't want to miss the grove." Kim chuckled.

"This is Rolland, Jimi's friend." Stella

introduced her to a devastatingly handsome man, standing beside Jimi.

"Nice to meet you." He said smiling which shows the cute two dimples on his cheeks. He stretched his hand, and Kim blinked a few times before taking his hand.

"It's my pleasure." She said.

He kissed the back of her palm like the gentleman he is. Stella dragged her husband with her, leaving those two.

"I like your chartreuse, Dior dress." He said, wandering his eyes on her body. "You have a good taste in fashion, I'm impressed."

Kim tucked some of her hair behind her ear and grinned. "Thank you, it cost a mountain."

"Yeah I know, I'm a fashion designer. I've my runway and models, to be candid you're perfect for a model."

"Stop flattering me." She smiled.

"No, you're just beautiful. Can we go somewhere silent? The noise is too much here." He suggested.

They got to the rooftop far away from the noise and distraction, With the cool breeze blowing on them. They stare at the colourful beautiful night view of the city.

"It's beautiful Isn't it?" He asked.

"Yes." She said.

"You haven't told me your name."

"My bad I'm Kim."

"I never thought I'd find someone I'd fit with so well tonight, you're my missing pieces, and I'm grateful I met you." He said grinning.

Kim laughed.

"What funny?"

"You're funny."

"Really?" He said.

"Don't tell me this is how you flirt with all women coming your way, 'cause I'm sure they'll fall for your sweet words."

He laughed. "What about you?" He asked, staring straight into Kim's eyes. She went silent and her eyelid came down. "Do you feel what I feel?"

She looked up at him. "How?"

"I don't know what to call this feeling."

"Maybe you're just happy." She said.

"Or.. maybe I like you."

They went silent, and Kim turned away. " We just met tonight."

"Feeling doesn't lie." He said.

"It's just temporary."

"Come on, look at me." He held her arm and swiftly handed it to him. "It doesn't matter if we met some moments ago."

Kim removed his hand. "I'm sorry, I don't feel anything."

"Let's give it time, you might develop a feeling." He said calmly.

"I don't want to, I love somebody else." She almost yelled. He keeps mute. She glances at him and sulks.

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay." He said casually.

"I've to go now." She said.

"No problem, whenever you change your mind I'm here for you." He said.

She nodded her head and walked off.

Rolland watched her till she left, he took a deep breath and said "No one can control a broken woman."

Stella opened the door to the rooftop. "I just saw her, she said she was heading home. Did things go well with you?" She asked moving toward him.

He sighed. "She still loves that man, she doesn't want to move on."

"Ha, poor woman."

"You said it has been a year and a half now?"

"Yes."

"She must truly love him for waiting for that long."

Stella turned and faced Rolland. "Do you like her?"

He glanced at her and nodded his head.

"Then you'll have to try harder next time, you'll have to let her fall in love with you."

"I'll try my best." He muttered.

"Please do, I want her to be happy again."

"I understand you."

Kim drives home that night. She opened the entrance door and closed it behind her, off her heels and earrings before heading to the kitchen to have a glass of water.

She changed into her pyjamas and lay down on her bed, staring at the ceiling.
