A glimpse of her past - III

"Spend a day with me Anna."

It was a statement rather than a question. He knew that he had very thin chances of convincing her into spending some time with him. Earlier, he had many questions in his mind but he wanted all his answers by her on her own will. However, her reluctance and embarrassment after the incident along with the traces of fright on her face, he decided to leave the topic for time being. He wanted to replace her painful memories with happy ones. Although, he was not sure if she would agree, he still kept his hopes high.

Once again, Anna was startled on his unexpected gesture of asking her out. She could understand, the way she reacted last night and whatever she spoke must have created a havoc of questions in his mind. She was expecting him to bombard her with numerous questions but like always he was unpredictable. He didn't ask anything about it. All his questions were to know if she was fine. She could see how he understood her and gave her the space to be on her own but then spending a whole day with him, it was the last thing for her to accept but she didn't know how to deny him.

When she didn't answer, he asked again, "Will you Anna?"

"Why? I mean I don't know..." She sighed.

"Because you wanted to return the favour."

"...."

She frowned and pondered over it when he said again, "I am not forcing you Anna. Only if you want to. I just want to look around the city as it has been a long since I have visited this place and I feel too bored to stay at home alone on a Sunday. I wanted to have some fun so I just thought if you could tag along."

"Okay. I would go with you." She accepted helplessly.

"Great then, I'll pick you up in an hour. Be ready and wear something comfortable." He said and quickly dashed outside without waiting for her reply.

"..."

"Anna are you going to stand there for the whole day? He would come back in an hour so go and get ready."

"Nanna... did you hear everything? I... I don't know if I should go or not."

"Yes I did and you should definitely go. I am happy that you are going out and opening up to new people. He seems to be a good boy." Samantha patted her head and said.

"Yes he is but he is too bossy. Anyways, I am just trying to return his favour. That's it."

Samantha chuckled at her response. "Okay I get it. Now go, and as he said wear something comfortable."

Regan came back exactly after an hour. Anna was already waiting for him in the living room. However, both of them were shocked after looking at each other outfit as unknowingly they were twinning. Regan was wearing a white denim with a blue denim shirt with rolled up sleeves showing his perfect muscular arms while Anna too was wearing a white denim with a classic striped, blue blouse.

When Samantha noticed their outfits, she gasped in surprise. "My my! Look at you both. You are looking so cute in similar clothes."

"Ummm... I guess it's a weird coincidence. I'll go and change into something different."

"No need Anastasia. This color suits you. Let it be."

"But..."

"It's fine with me and I guess friends can twin?" He said playfully.

"Okay."

They had just sat in the car when she asked, "Where are we going? It's still too early to go anywhere."

"Too curious, aren't we?" He smirked. "Well... that's for me to know and you to find out. For now, we are going to grab a bite."

"But we already ate breakfast in the morning."

"I have planned the whole day for which you would require a lot of strength and what you have eaten was nothing, so let's go."

He then moved his gaze towards her seatbelt and asked, "May I?"

She nodded and he tied it instantly.

"Let's go then."

Soon they were in a cafe where they had some coffee, sandwiches and donuts. Once again Regan frowned on her low appetite but decided to let it go for the moment.

After finishing the breakfast, they headed towards their first destination. Soon, they were standing outside the Blue Sky Ranch which was a dropzone located in Gardiner, New York. It was a paradise for those who loved adventures especially sky diving.

When Anna realized where they were, she gulped. "Why are we here Regan? You said you wanted to look around the city to have fun?"

"Nah! What's the fun in just roaming around? So I planned on doing something adventures today."

"What?" She squeaked.

Regan chuckled at her response. "We are going to fly Anna and believe me you will love it."

"Do you want to kill me? No way.... I am not doing it." She said stubbornly.

He extended his hand towards her. "Just trust me okay. You won't regret anything, I promise."

She looked at his hand and then at him. "I..... I am just afraid. I have never done it before."

"Then do it today.... with me. You know, its the most amazing thing to experience. You would realize the real beauty of the earth when you will fly. It would give you the freedom to experience beauty, adventure and discovery of the epitome of breaking into new worlds. Just give it a shot?"

Instead of replying him, she held his hand. He smiled and led her inside. He had already booked the whole place for them. They were guided with the basic instructions of sky diving and soon geared up for the flight. Although, Anna agreed for it, she was too scared to just think about it. Her palms were sweaty and she unknowingly gripped Regan's arm tightly. He squeezed her hand gently to assure her. "This is going to be your best experience Anna."

Soon they were 13500 feet high in the air in an aircraft. Anna was terrified at the mere thought of jumping from such a great height. However, Regan held her and constantly tried to boost her with some encouraging words.

"Do you trust me Anna?"

"Yes!"

He smiled and took her hands in his. "Then hold on tight."

On the count of three, they jumped. Anna's eyes were tightly closed and her heart was thumping wildly as if it would come out at any moment. After some seconds, she felt as if her body became light and found herself floating in the air. She opened her eyes to see the most incredible sight of her life. She could see the whole city which never seemed to be more beautiful than it ever. When her eyes landed on Regan, he was already grinning.

"Oh My God Regan! I am flying. I am actually flying. It's so beautiful out there." She screamed in joy. She could not believe that she finally did it. The fear that she was feeling some moments before was replaced by amusement and pleasure and she couldn't help but giggle at the sight.

The whole experience was amazing, exactly as he said. Shortly, they landed back on the ground but the excitement and spark of the unforgettable journey was evident on her face. Regan was elated to finally see her so cheerful around him. He mentally patted his back and couldn't help but smile on seeing her contagious smile. All the way, their hands were intertwined without their realization.

"Did you enjoy?"

"More than I expected. I never thought that I could feel that way. I am still having goosebumps." She giggled and he laughed at her excitement.

"So? What's next?"

"It's going to be a long day. Let's go to see."
