CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Gael was quite proud to have reached the 54-year-old and still running a business mark. Indeed, he was still known as a grey-haired grandpa with an even bigger receding hairline and large ivory walking stick, but he was proud, oh so very proud, to still be standing as the largest overall supplier of clothes to all layers. Yes sir! He was the best and he knew it. He knew it very well. But his streak was threatened when he heard the door open.

There was his worst nightmare.

The girl, now closer to 17 or 18, had glassy, dead eyes that looked straight past him. Her hair was still short but longer than it had been before, scraping her shoulders. Gael paused.

"You again. May I ask what the reason for this visit is?"

The girl paused. Then she turned around and looked at something behind her. Then she held the door open a bit more. There were two girls behind her, both with skinny builds and dark hair. Sisters or twins, Gael figured. Strangely, they were both blindfolded.

And then, without saying anything, the girl closed the door and left. Gael was left there, flabbergasted, for a few minutes. Heli always got her way, and it was for one reason and one reason only.

She was done losing.
