Chapter 6 - The Monster Festival Part III

: GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! THIS IS DEXIE LOU, YOUR COMMENTATOR FOR TODAY AND WELCOME TO THE MONSTER FESTIVAL!:

: EVERYONE TAKE YOUR SEATS AND BE COMFORTABLE. THE FIRST BATTLE WILL BEGIN SHORTLY!:

The event was held at Arena One, the largest of the three arenas within the island. Scouts from different schools and organizations have gathered along with local and national journalists and reporters.

" Woah! Look at all these people!" , Wade exclaimed holding a popcorn and sitting comfortably in his seat at the VIP area, beside the commentators area.

: FOR OUR FIRST BATTLE: IT'S THE SWIMMING CLUB!:

The Swimming club marched in with twelve members.

: HEADED BY THEIR PRESIDENT, OUR SCHOOL'S "LORELEI": CHRISTINE BELL!!

SHE IS ONE OF OUR 18 KING CLASS STUDENTS AND IS CURRENTLY THE FOURTH SEAT OF OUR TWELVE ROYALS:

The audience cheered as they saw Christine enter the arena with her mermaid like armor.  It had a shiny blue color with scales and a mermaid like tail continuously releasing a stream of water  so she can slide gracefully. She raised her  golden trident and everyone in her team shouted with vigor.

: NOW, LET'S SEE WHAT BEAST WILL THEY FIGHT. OPEN THE GATE!! :

The giant gate in the north side of the arena slowly opened and everyone waited in silence, awaiting the beast to come out.

* SHRIIIEEEEEEKKKK*

Suddenly, a giant blue bird flew out of the gate and flapped it's wings towards the arena creating a strong icy wind that turned the stage into a very cold place.

The arena was protected with an advance protective barrier so that attacks from the stage wont reach the audience.

" A Frost Pheonix right off the bat, huh?", Wade said with his legs crossed eating his popcorn.

: FOR OUR FIRST ROUND! THE SWIMMING CLUB VERSUS A FROST PHEONIX! :

: LET THE HUNT BEGIN!:

A loud horn sounded and the swimming team prepared for battle.

: WITH THE BEAST'S ICE ELEMENT STRONG AGAINST LORELEI'S WATER ELEMENT, HOW WILL THE SWIMMING TEAM KILL THIS BEAST?:

" Kings Mode Energize!", Christine shouted.

Suddenly, a bright blue light covered her in a shape of a sphere extending it's light up to the sky.

The light abruptly dispersed with a strong shockwave showing her shining blue armor covered with a water dress that has sparkling scales and a shining blue floating crown on top of her head.

" Wow! My it's the first time I've seen a king armor in person!"

" So elegant and stunning!"

" King class armors really are something!"

The media and the students chattered.

: OOHHH!! JUST LIKE THE OTHER TEAMS WITH A KING CLASS LAST YEAR! LORELEI TRANSFORMED IMMEDIATELY TO END THIS HUNT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!!:

" Wow!", Wade's eyes were sparkling in excitement. " Sebastian really outdid himself with these flashy armors!"

In the arena, a thick blue aura enwrapped the body of the swimming club's members and they were immediately freed from the cold.

: LOOK FOLKS! LORELEI'S KING'S AURA ! SHE COVERS HER SUBJECTS WITH A WATER LIKE AURA AND ELIMINATES ALL NEGATIVE STATUS FROM HER TEAM:

" VORTEX PRISON!"

Christine trapped the giant frost phoenix in a giant sphere of water and all her members prepared to attack.

"  HYDRO SPEARS! "

She created giant spears out of water and aimed it at the beast.

" ATTACK!" , she declared.

The whole swimming club let out a barrage of attacks at the beast.

But at the last minute, the giant bird turned the water prison in a giant sphere of ice and fended all their attacks.

: WHAT'S THIS? IN ACT OF DESPERATION, THE FROST PHOENIX FROZE THE WATER AROUND IT!:

* SHRRIIIEEEEEKKK!!!*

The phoenix screeched and broke the frozen sphere surrounding it.

" DOMAIN ABILITY: SEABED TERROR!"

In an instant, Christine turned the entire stage into an underwater region. Everyone in her team we're swimming gracefully. And the phoenix, unable to breathe, tried to freeze the area again. She pointed at the beast and it began struggling as if it was being crushed by something.

" THERE IT IS!! LORELEI'S SEABED DOMAIN!! IN THIS DOMAIN, SHE TURNS A CERTAIN AREA INTO A SEA LIKE FIELD AND CAN CHANGE THE PRESSURE OF AN AREA THAT SHE CHOOSES WITH THE SAME CRUSHING PRESSURE AS THE OCEAN FLOOR!"

The swimming club prepared to strike again. They held their weapons and pointed it at the beast.

" Attack!!" , she declared.

All members of the swimming club were propelled into the direction of the beast. The water around them made them swim faster as they were pushed by Christine's Domain ability.

And together, they pierced through the body of the beast and shredded it to pieces.

*BEEEEEEEPPPPPP!!*

The arena was filled with a loud sound.

: IT'S OVER FOLKS!! THE SWIMMING CLUB HAS DEFEATED THE FROST PHOENIX WITH JUST ONE MINUTE AND FORTY -EIGHT SECONDS ON THE CLOCK!"

" General Mode Energize!" , Christine returned to her general form and disabled her domain ability. She raised her trident and the swimming club as well as the audience cheered for their victory.

" Good team effort.", Wade clapped his hands together with the crowd.

" I can't wait to see Alex and Rafaela's club do their stuff."

" One minute and forty-eight seconds, huh.", Ms. Mary said sitting next to the other teachers in the faculty area of the arena near the stage.

" Last semester, the swimming club's time was almost twice this year."

" They've improved." , a male middle aged teacher replied.

" Their efforts really paid off, Mr. Ross."

Mr. Brandon Ross is a third year instructor and is the supervisor of the swimming club. He has a black hair, brown eyes with eye glasses and an average size of 5"8 70 kg wearing his favorite cardigan and leather shoes.

" They've really improved since Christine took the position as president." , he said feeling relieved that his club pulled through.

" Christine was born to lead. The title 'King ' fits her very well."

" Good job raising those kids." , Ms. Mary tapped his back.

" Thanks, Mary." " By the way-"

He gently took Mary's hand,

" Have you considered my offer to be your lover?"

Mary pulled her hand and punched him in the gut.

*Ooooff* , he crouched while holding his stomach.

" In your dreams, Brandon."

The other teachers saw them and laughed.

" The first match ended without a hitch, thankfully." , Sebastian said. His seat was located at the edge of the faculty area.

" Thank you once again for safely delivering these magnificent beasts,

Mr. Shawn."

" Happy to help, as always, principal." , said the man standing behind him.

He was a tall and slim man with a pale complexion with black hair and sharp eyes. Shawn was one of the pioneering teachers in the academy and one of the principal's most trusted teachers.

" Now, if you'll excuse me. I have to check the beasts from time to time to ensure the school's safety." , he said.

" Okay, thank you once again." , Sebastian  replied.

" Don't mention it." , Shawn said as he walked away.

The academy currently has 18 clubs and each club has a King class student acting as their president.

The time table of each club that had already finished from the shortest time to the longest time is as follows:

The order of succession in these battles are decided by drawing lots except for the last four teams which is reserved for the clubs where the student council members are in.

: ALRIGHT FOLKS! FOR OUR NEXT HUNT! THE ARCHERY CLUB VERSUS A LAVA WYVERN!!:

The members of the archery club entered the arena with 10 members ready to fight.

:LAST SEMESTER, THE ARCHERY CLUB HAD THE SHORTEST TIME WITH ONE MINUTE AND TWENTY-TWO SECONDS. THIS TIME, WITH A NEW PRESIDENT; JEREMY BOLT; WILL HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF?:

" Oh! It's Melissa's club. " , Wade excitedly said. " After all those special trainings every week, she probably could make a quick job against a lava wyvern."

" I wouldn't be so sure about that." ,

Wade was startled as someone suddenly whispered in his ear. He quickly jumped away from his seat.

" Good reaction, hehe." , " Oooh, my club is still on the lead."

It was Christine. She was in her school uniform with her dark blue hair dangling over her shoulders. She looked at him with her sapphire like eyes.

" Mind  if I seat next to you?

I've always wanted to meet the freshman who've beaten Rafaela."

" Sure?" , Wade slowly returned to his seat next to Christina. " I don't know whom you've heard it from, but I didn't actually beat Rafaela."

" Oh, please. Rafaela isn't the only one with a heat detecting visor.", Christine leaned towards Wade and stared directly in his eyes. " Who are you, really?"

" Look! It's starting!", Wade diverted his look and pointed at the stage trying to change the subject.

*KREEEEEEEEEE!!!!!*

Screeched the beast while burning it's path as it enters the stage with a length of twelve meters from head to tail and a height of seven meters.

:LET THE HUNT BEGIN!:

:KINGS MODE ACTIVATE!: Jeremy shouted.

His grey armor was cloaked with a shining grey robe with sllight changes in his helmet and other parts of his armor.And a shining grey crown was floating above his head.

After transforming to his king's mode, he and the whole archery team turned invisible and vanished from the stage.

" Cool trick." , Wade was surprised. " What excatly happened?"

" That is Jeremy's King's Aura." , Christine replied. " He can turn all his subjects invisible. A perfect ability for archers to avoid enemies from getting close."

:THERE IT IS!! JEREMY'S KINGS AURA!:

The beast was agitated and started spitting streams of lava randomly in the stage.

Some of the members were hit by the lava and had to resign from the battle.

" FORMATION 9!" , Jeremy exclaimed.

Suddenly the legs of the wyven were bounded by giant metal shackles preventing it to fly. But the beast spitted lava on the shackles and melted it so easily. The beast tried to take flight

to collect itself.

" Don't let it get away!", Jeremy shouted.

Suddenly, two energy beams from the archery club's members pireced the beast's wings and prevented it from flying away.

" SILVER MOON ARROW: FULL POWER"

Melissa reappeared below the beast pointing her fully charged arrow directly at the beast's chest.

" GO!" , everone from the club shouted.

She released the arrow and it effortlessly pierced the beast's cheast leaving a big hole in the middle of the Lava Wyvern.

*BEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!*

:IT'S OVER FOLKS!! WITH JUST FIFTY-FIVE SECONDS INTO THE BATTLE, THE ARCHERY HAS TAKEN DOWN THE LAVA WYVERN! A GREAT TEAMPLAY FROM THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS!:

"Wooooww!!!"

"Amazing"

The crowd cheered loudly, clearly amazed by the archery clubs's performance. Even the teachers from faculty area were clealy amazed and proudly applauded thier students.

Ugh, Fifty- five seconds?", Christine was astonished. " Well, there goes our lead. I guess the archery club will be the champions again this year."

" Wow! Melissa's armor has some serious fire power.", Wade said.

" Melissa? You mean that general class freshman who dealt the final blow?" She asked. " Do you know her?"

" Yep. Actually she's my classmate."

" Looks like the future of the archery club is in good hands."

Everyone clapped their hands as the archery club marched proudly out of the arena.

" Five more teams to go. I might as well finish watching the festival here with you." , Christine said with a seductive tone.

" Okay. I'm waiting for Alex and Rafaela's club's turn."

" Tsk. That was the first time a tried to seduce someone and didn't act all flustered.", She thought to herself.

" Nevermind. I have plenty of chances while we're here. I'll make you spill your beans out, just you wait."

: FOR OUR NEXT HUNT! THE FOOTBALL CLUB VS A GIANT FRILLED ANACONDA!:

*At the Arena's storage room*

" Pheww! Four beasts left." , said the man in charge of watching over the beasts.

He had a staff of eight professionals. They are also in charge of releasing the beasts every fight and making sure that the beast does not cause any disturbances to the festival.

" Next is the boxing club. Their opponent is the Northern Silverback Gorilla. Everyone please-"

When he turned around, he saw all his crew members lying on the floor unconscious.

" What the-".

He noticed a sharp smell coming from the back door. But before he could react, the poison had already entered his body. His body went numb and his vision became blurry unabling him to stand. Before he lost his consciousness, he saw someone in all black walking towards him.

" I'll take it from here." And he smiled showing his sharp fangs.

" Someone, help-",

" Now then," , the mysterious man took out a glowing purple gem.

" Let's start the real hunt."

:IT'S OVER FOLKS!! IT TOOK TWO MINUTES AND THIRTY-SIX SECONDS FOR THE FOOTBALL CLUB TO DEFEAT THE FRILLED ANACONDA:

The football club walked out of the arena looking very disappointed.

" Bryan must've been very disappointed.", Christine said as she looked at them walking away.

" Bryan?", Wade asked. " You mean the president of the football club?"

" Yep." ," He took the 8th seat of the 12 royals through hard work and willpower. I'm sure a sincere guy like him must've been very frustrated after that battle."

" 8th seat, huh?" , " By the way, I noticed that many clubs didn't have their president or any king class student participating."

" That's because the reward of this festival doesn't matter to them."

" Doesn't matter? Why?", Wade asked.

" You see, the winner of this event will have the highest club budget for the whole semester. Many king class students doesn't care about the money anymore. Having a very high stipend, they can pretty much buy anything they want for their clubs. And the others just simply don't care. Like Stephen, the president of the martial arts club and the 3rd seat of the royals and Max, the president of the Billiard club and the 4th seat of the royals. Being 3rd years, they would rather train for sport scholarships that they like and let their club members attend events like these."

" I see," Wade replied. "Maybe the scoreboard won't be the same if all king class students attended the event."

" Yeah, for sure." , Christine said. " Speaking of king class, It's starting."

:THANK YOU FOR WAITING EVERYONE! LET'S CONTINUE THE HUNT! 

THE LAST FOUR CLUBS, AS WE ALL KNOW, ARE RESERVED FOR THE CLUBS WHERE A STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBER IS AFFILIATED:

NOW LET'S WELCOME THE CLUB OF OUR STUDENT COUNCIL'S SECRETARY!! ALEX AND THE BOXING CLUB!! :

Everyone cheered as Alex and her club of 15 super buffed members entered the arena.

" Go Alex!!" , Wade cheered. " Show them who's boss!"

Christine can't help but be curious. " Are you close to Alex?"

" Yeah!", Wade smiled form ear to ear. " She's my first friend here at school."

" Is that so?", she replied. " Rafaela, that strong freshman form the archery club and Alex. You tend to attract strong people around you."

" That includes you, too." he said.

" W-what?" , she stuttered. " What do you mean?"

" You said I have the tendency to attract strong people. Well, you are strong and here we are."

" Are you saying I-I-I-I'm attracted to you!?", her flustered face was in a different level of cuteness.

" Don't be full so of yourself freshman! I'm the school's Lorelei! You are way out of my league!"

Wade held Christine's chin and moved his face close to hers. He stared intently into her eyes.

" Yes, if we're talking about strength. I'm WAY out of your league."

Christine was shocked. It's like her energy is slowly being sucked away.

" Why can't I move?? My whole body feels numb. What did he do to me?"

Wade slowly moved away from her and returend to his seat.

Christine's flustered face was replaced with a nervous look.

" Don't worry." , Wade said and smiled at her. " I'm not here to hurt anybody. I just want to have fun."

" Oh! It's coming out!" Wade excitedly looked at the stage.

: AND THEIR OPPONENT IS-:

A 25-feet silverback gorilla came out of the  arena's gate.

: A NORTHERN SILVERBACK GORILLA!!!:

" Whoa! It's humongous!!"

" I wouldn't want to fight that thing"

" That thing is scary looking."

" Wow! A northern silverback!" , Wade surprisingly exclaimed. " How did Sebastian transport those monsters here?"

" The school staff has one teacher that has close connections with the beast cloners in the underground world. I think his name was Mr. Shawn." , Christine replied.

" Sebastian really went all out for his beloved school." , he said.

: IT'S THE BOXING CLUB VS A NORTHERN SILVERBACK GORILLA! LET THE HUNT BEGIN!!:

* BEEEEEPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!*

" Let's go!" , Alex shouted as they charge towards the beast.

----

" Huh? Why isn't Alex using her king's mode?", Wade asked.

" Ah, you see, Alex's King's mode is a bit different from the rest of us." , she replied.

" What do you mean?"

" Alex's King's mode brings out up to 200% of Alex's raw power. Using that much power takes a huge toll on her body. So she uses it in a different way to utilizze her explosive power and still fight for long periods."

" So she uses her King's mode only during she attacks, right?"

" That's right. She switches before and after an attack."

The boxing club members surrounded the beast preventing it to escape.

" Let's do this! King's Mode Energize!!", Alex exclaimed.

Alex was wrapped in a sphere of hot aura. Alex emerged from the sphere with a shining orange armor and glowing fists with a orange glowing crown on her head.

The boxing club's armors turned orange and was surging with power.

: THERE IT IS FOLKS!! ALEX'S KING'S AURA! SHE BRINGS OUT THE MAXIMUM STREGNTH OF HER SUBJECTS FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME!!:

They simontaniously attacked the beast and successfully pinned it's arms and legs to the ground.

*GGGGGGAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!*

The beast screamed.

Wade noticed something glowing from the beast's nape. " What's that? Nothern silverbacks don't have glowing parts in their body."

At the staff's area, Sebastian also noticed a purple glow in the silverback's nape.

" What is that? It can't possibly be-"

" Good job!! Don't let it go!" , Alex ordered her team as she leaped above the silverback's back.

" MAXIMUM POWER: RIGHT ARM: BREAK LIMIT TO 200%:"

, " Take this! -NUKE PUNCH!!!!"

Alex started descending with her right arm glowing with rings of shing aura.

" MOVE!!!!!!"

The members of the boxing club jumped away before Alex reached the bottom.

"OOORRRYAAAAAAA!!!!!!"

Alex smashed the body of the giant ape with her right hand and made a huge explosion in the arena. The explosion made the ground tremble for a few seconds and the shockwave of the punch was felt to the audience even with an advance barrier.

The stage was filled with a cloud of smoke. After a few sconds, the smoke slowly cleared and everyone saw alex standing over the flattened body of the beast.

*BBBBEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPP*

: IT'S OVER IN AN INSTANT FOLKS!!!! WITH ONLY THIRTY -SEVEN SECONDS ON THE CLOCK!!! THE FASTEST RECORD OF THE ACADEMY!! AROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THE BOXING CLUB!!:

" WHOOOOOOOAAAAAAA!!!!"

" You're the best Alex!!!"

" As expected from the student who has the strongest raw power in the academy!"

The students, teachers, reporters and journalists cheered after what they've witnessed.

Alex raised her hand and suddenly collapsed after. Her club members ran to her aid and carried her carefully to the nurse's station

" Is she going to be alright?", Wade asked Christine.

" She's fine. She just passed out after going all out. She'll bounce back after a long rest.", she replied. " But seriously though, thirty -seven seconds is amazing even for the top five seats of the royals."

" The purple glow from the silverback's nape disappeared. Maybe Alex's punch destroyed whatever was making that light.", Wade thought to himself.

------

" Tch! It didn't have enough anger to activate it. That girl had some serious firepower.", The mysterious man said with an irrtated tone. " Nevermind. The next one will surely do the job."

He stood facing the three beasts left in their cages all with purple crystals attached to their bodies.
