The Boss Room (part 2)

After a short rest where Terrick has finally woken up, he and Ellie make their way into the castle. Strewn everywhere were pieces of boulder that used to be castle wall and ramparts. A section of the castle had collapsed to reveal that it has 4 floors. They didn't even bother using the castle's doors as some of the doors were still locked and oddly untouched. Using the party locator, they head to where the other members have congregated. Their rest had recovered some of their mana and Ellie knew that Healing would be crucial once they start fighting the dungeon boss.

The two have barely entered the castle when they heard a noise from behind. It was a group of Imps headed by one imp general flanked by a couple commanders . With them are prey items in cages and some were propped up in sticks. They must have been out hunting and had just returned.

Ellie and Terrick had to defeat them quickly to help the others but more and more warrior imps poured in from the fallen castle drawbridge. Terrick steels himself as he doubted whether they would make it in time to help the others. Ellie, on the other hand, couldn't wait to try the new medical knowledge she had learned to her battle advantage. From a far, the never-ending barrage of explosions and blasts could be heard.

Bryce finally reached the King's room. The twins were finishing up their battles when he saw Althea casting one last healing spell before collapsing. A group of knights just entered from the broken wall near her. He cracks his knuckles and flickers to where the knights were. He slashes his way through the crowd of knights with his sword empowered with Dark Lightning. They were stronger and much harder to fell but Dark element is potent. Bryce's hours of battling with Vane has made him more critical, able to catch minute detail of hesitation and weakness. His grin widens as he hopes that the other don't arrive until he has killed them all.

Lest, who defeated her opponent just before Vane, headed towards the laying Althea. Her battle became unnecessarily difficult due to the mages who continued to heal and buff her opponent. Because of this she has made almost depleted her mana. If she would try fighting now, she would only get in Rhald's way. She needed to recover enough mana to be able to cast some high-level spells when it really counts. In the meantime, she sat next to her sleeping friend. Vane, who fought the strongest imp general was also depleted. He also needed some healing but since Ellie was nowhere to be found and Althea was out, he rested near his friend and his sister.

Meanwhile, Bryce's fight has slowly moved to the next chamber. He intentionally drew the knights to this room so that the others would be safe for the time being. He thought that he could swiftly kill the elite knights but as more of them sporadically came in as reinforcements, the battle became drawn out. He knew that it was his job to draw the attention of the small fry so that Rhald could focus on the Imp Lord. From the loud blasts and immense mana expended in the boss room, he knew that intensity of the boss battle was something he could barely touch in his current state. He gritted his teeth and continues yeeting the knights. He must level up as much as he can if he hopes to reach Rhald's A rank level. Not long after, another level up notification beeped in his consciousness. He greedily aggros on the rest of the knights taking their EXP for his own.

Five minutes later, the last of the elite knights fall to the ground. With his death, an A rank weapon drops- a katana. Bryce picks it up from the floor and puts it into his inventory. Crossing blades with the samurai has stirred his interest in such a weapon. "I would need a mentor to teach me," he thought to himself, but where would he find one of those. He walks to the next room so he could help Rhald but he falters and ends up resting against a partially blown up wall.
