The Chronicles of Zaraki Kenji in Naruto

NARUTO AU Born into an alternate Naruto Universe where another clan stands alongside the Senju, Uchiha and Hyuga clan as one of the strongest - The Zaraki Clan - Watch as our MC goes from a young clueless boy who's only knows the events till the timeskip to a man who can change the fate of those around him. ___________________ This is yet again another attempt of mine at making a fanfic. The OC clan I've made is basically based of Kenpachi from Bleach with our main character looking like Kenpachi (except for when he had that weird spiky hair thing going on). You'll be able to see the Kenpachi inspired stuff if you go ahead and read *wink wink* There are a few changes I'm going to make to the series like nerfing Hashirama cells, boosting the Hyugas strength so they can actually rival the Uchiha and also a few other things in the long run. I DO NOT OWN ANY THING IN THIS NOVEL FROM NARUTO TO THE COVER PIC!!

Chapter 3

"Fugaku, my friend, how have your efforts fared in quelling the flames of rebellion that have been igniting?" Isshin inquired with a serious expression etched upon his face.

Fugaku raised the porcelain cup to his lips, taking a contemplative sip of sake, and released a wistful sigh before responding, "Our progress surpasses previous efforts. Sakumo has displayed a desire to meet some of our demands, attempting to alleviate the mounting tension. However, the shadow of Danzo looms ominously, ceaselessly seeking to undermine Sakumo's authority. I fear he covets the power residing within our clan's eyes, yet I lack concrete evidence to present my concerns to the Hokage."

"I see," Isshin murmured, his eyes clouded with understanding. "Danzo's machinations are always fueled by sinister motives. If not for the alliance forged between my Zaraki Clan and the Kuruma Clan, he might have already ensnared young Yakumo-chan, molding her into his personal weapon."

A flicker of gratitude gleamed in Fugaku's eyes as he nodded in agreement, saying, "Indeed, we owe a debt of gratitude to the Yamanaka clan, who intervened just in time to salvage her well-being."

"I will engage in further discussion with Hokage-sama. I will advocate for the relocation of your clan's compound closer to the Village as a testament of trust," Isshin declared, his voice laced with determination as he savored the taste of sake upon his tongue.

"Your unwavering support is deeply cherished, Isshin," Fugaku expressed with genuine gratitude. "In the aftermath of the Nine-Tails rampage, few clans have displayed an open willingness to stand by our side. Instead, many perceive this tragedy as an opportunity to seize power and bolster their own influence."

Waving away any concerns, Isshin offered a reassuring smile. "Worry not, my friend. I could never bear witness to a cherished comrade succumbing to the schemes of another."

For a moment, silence enveloped them as they sat, deep in contemplation, indulging in the warmth of their sake. Then, Fugaku's laughter broke through the somber air, dissolving the tension, as he proclaimed, "Why let the weight of clan affairs tarnish our celebration? Let us cast aside these burdens, if only for a while. After all, tonight is a time for joy."

Monday arrived, marking the beginning of another day at the academy. Classes began promptly at 8:45 in the morning and concluded at 3 p.m. The village had taken a progressive approach by integrating both Clan and civilian children in the same classes rather then separating them, aiming to eradicate any form of discrimination. However, it was evident that where social classes existed, some level of distinction would persist.

The Clan children, having received specialized training from their respective clans, often held themselves in higher regard. Typically, the top 10 students in each class were dominated by Clan children, with the occasional exceptional civilian managing to secure a spot.

The Clan kids had a distinct advantage, having gained an early start in essential subjects such as taijutsu, chakra theory, and the history of Konoha. Many of them had been immersed in rigorous training from a tender age, including me. Since turning 4, I had dedicated three years to honing my skills in kenjutsu, surpassing all other children effortlessly. In fact, my skill had reached a point where the academy deemed it unnecessary for me to participate in the Kenjutsu class any longer.

The academy curriculum included mandatory subjects like mathematics, history, economics, taijutsu, genjutsu, shurikenjutsu, and physics. In my previous world, such a comprehensive lineup of subjects would have been considered unimaginable due to their complexity. However, in this world, the children not only displayed superior intelligence but also a level of maturity that exceeded expectations. The explanation for this could be the effect of chakra on a humans spirituality but I didn't have much of a guess.

Moreover, there were supplementary classes available, with each student required to choose at least two of them. However, the girls had the option to forgo these classes due to their compulsory kuniochi training. The supplementary classes offered included Kenjutsu, Trap Assembly, Fuinjutsu and Calligraphy, and an advanced Genjutsu course that delved deeper into the art of illusion.

Since I was exempt from Kenjutsu classes, I had the privilege of choosing only one additional supplementary class. I decided to explore the realm of Fuinjutsu and Calligraphy, seeing as I wasn't talented in Genjutsu (Not that I was talented in Fuunjustsu too) nor did I care for trap assembly.

As I made my way to the classroom, I observed the expansive auditorium-like space and settled into my seat. I occupied the second-to-last row, with Sasuke seated to my left and Kiba to my right. Naruto sat in the back row, next to Shikamaru and Choji.

Contrary to the portrayal in the show, Naruto wasn't entirely isolated. The Hokage had taken him under his wing, raising him as his own alongside Kakashi. However, Naruto's brash demeanor remained unchanged, and he still struggled academically.

With ten minutes left before our homeroom sensei arrived, I decided to engage in some casual conversation with the trio seated behind me.

"Did any of you manage to solve those equations we were given?"

"Nah, too much of a drag," Shikamaru lazily replied, accompanied by a yawn.

"Equations?" Naruto chimed in, a hint of confusion in his voice. We all turned to look at Naruto, realising that he had completely forgotten about them. It wasn't long before realization dawned on his face. His expression quickly shifted from confusion to horror, and he stared at me with a grave expression.

"Kenji, if you truly value our friendship, would you mind passing me your notebook so I can copy? You know how scary Iruka-sensei gets when you don't complete your work."

"Who told you to forget about it, idiot." Sasuke interjected. "If I were you, I wouldn't give it to him, Kenji."

"Huh? What did you say, Sasuke? You wanna fight me right now? Huh, huh?" Naruto retorted, rising from his seat and leaning in closer to Sasuke, who had his back turned.

"For someone who's 5 to 7', you sure do talk big."

"YOU ONLY BEAT ME THOSE TWO TIMES BECAUSE YOU CHEATED!" Naruto shouted.

"Care to explain how I cheated?"

"Uhhh..."

Before the two of them could continue their exchange, Iruka-sensei entered the classroom, making his way to the front of the class.

"Alright, everyone, settle down. Let's get started."

Naruto's little argument had completely diverted his attention from the current predicament.

Classes proceeded as usual (including Naruto getting a scolding for not doing work) until we reached the chakra theory lesson.

"Now that you guys have been studying chakra for a year, it's time to put your knowledge into practice," Iruka announced, eliciting murmurs of excitement that swiftly subsided.

"While some of you may already possess chakra manipulation skills, that doesn't mean you can skip this exercise entirely," Iruka remarked, his gaze sweeping across the clan kids. "Repeating this exercise will help you establish a solid foundation of chakra control."

Iruka moved around the classroom, distributing leaves to each student. Some students looked at their leaves with confusion, while others examined them with understanding.

"Alright, now that everyone has a leaf, I'll demonstrate what you need to do," Iruka explained.

He lifted his headband, revealing his forehead, and placed the leaf against it. To everyone's surprise, the leaf clung to his forehead. Although, when you think about it, it was rather weird that the simple act of a leaf sticking to one's head could evoke such amazement when these students had witnessed ninjas walking on walls.

"The objective of this exercise is to keep your leaf attached to your forehead for at least 10 minutes," Iruka stated, scanning the room. "So, what are you waiting for?" This prompted many kids to exchange confused glances.

Iruka let out a little chuckle and continued, "I was just teasing you. Though it may seem simple, at your level, it requires an impressive amount of control. As you all know, chakra possesses the power to repel or attract other chakra. By infusing a bit of your chakra into the leaf, you create a bridge, connecting the chakra within your body to the chakra in the leaf," Iruka explained.

"It demands delicate control because injecting too much chakra will push the leaf away, while using too little will result in an insufficient connection between the chakra in the leaf and your body."

After his explanation, many students immersed themselves in the exercise, attempting to keep their leaves attached. Since I was already familiar with the technique, I decided to challenge myself and see how long I could maintain the leaf on my forehead.

Many kids struggled with the exercise to which Iruka simply reassured them and told them to try again. The exercise ended up being an assignment with your mark depending on how close you were to 10 minutes.

Lunchtime arrived, and we were finally let out. Sasuke, Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji, and I usually hung out together on the rooftop, occasionally joined by Shino.

"Kyaaa, Sasuke-kun!"

"I-I made a b-bento for you, Sasuke-kun."

"M-me too."

As always, Sasuke was followed by his group of fangirls, led by Sakura and Ino.

"You'd think they'd get tired of fangirling over you, considering how disinterested you are," I remarked, trying to initiate a conversation.

"Mmmhh mmhmh mhm" Choji attempted to respond, but his words were muffled due to his chewing.

"Don't speak while you're chewing, Choji. You might start choking again, don't you remember what happened last time" Shikamaru reminded him.

"Sasuke-kun, are you going to accept my bento?"

Sasuke glanced at the girls and coldly replied, "Get lost."

Instead of being discouraged or hurt by Sasuke's cold behavior, they erupted into cheers.

"KYAAA, SASUKE-KUN, TALK TO ME!" one of the girls screamed.

"NO, HE DIDN'T! HE WAS CLEARLY TALKING TO ME," another one insisted.

The scene quickly descended into pandemonium as the girls argued, providing us with an opportunity to escape to the rooftop.

"Man, it's so unfair. Why does Sasuke get that Prince treatment while I don't?" Naruto said with frustration.

"Maybe it's because he's not dumb," Choji remarked.

"And he's handsome," Shikamaru added.

"And he's also from the Uchiha clan. You know how ladies go crazy over the Uchihas," I chimed in.

"I'm literally the Hokage's son," Naruto argued.

"That's cool and all, but it makes you more popular with the guys. Ladies love cold and mysterious guys," I said, lightly patting his shoulder. "And no offense, but you're neither."

The rooftop soon fell into a serene silence as Shikamaru dozed off, gazing at the clouds, and Choji silently indulged in his endless supply of snacks.

Sasuke grew tired of the silence, stood up, and walked over to me.

"Let's spar."

"Sure, I'm always up for cementing your place as number two."

"Hey, what about me? I still have a score to settle with that Sasuke guy," Naruto interjected.

"Sure, you'll go next," Sasuke replied.

Sasuke and I faced each other, performing the seal of reconciliation.
