Chapter 1Silver Vale Asylum; Checking In

"Zalan, we've got a new patient." Reported a beautiful young looking woman. The woman had long red hair that went to her shoulder blades and she bared green eyes. She wore small around glasses that sat just at the bottom of her nose. It seemed like those glasses were a bit too much and were unneeded. The uniform she wore was white and it bared the Asylum's crest/symbol on her back; A red iron crosses.

"What's the patient's name...?" Zalan, a tall man with red and green mix colored hair with hazel eyes asked in a low bored voice. His uniform was a bit messy and his tie was undone. He lifted himself up out of his chair and he looked over his desk to examine the small child who was standing nearly in front of the nurse woman at the foot of the desk. He became confused of who he was looking at and couldn't tell if the child was male or female. "Is that a girl? Or a boy?"

The woman shrugged, rolling her eyes. Not even she knew. "No one knows, but we figured this one was female." She gently moved her left leg and her red heals clicked against the smooth limestone floor.

"Okay," Zalan slumped back into his chair, sounding more bored than he ever seemed or sounded. "The door's open. Take her in." He looked down at his desk, his eyes moving around on at sheet of paper in front of him. He reached under his desk, pressing a red button and a metal scrapping sound was heard somewhere on the right.

The red haired nurse woman wrapped her bony hand around the small child's right upper arm. This made the child wince, closing it's eyes and gritting it's teeth a little. It seemed the child was in pain from the touch.

As the woman pulled the child along through the doors, she looked down next to her. She noticed how the child was reacting to her grip, so she let go at once. It seemed like a bit too much for him or her. Though, it didn't seem like a problem to the nurse woman and she didn't seem to care.

The child slowly recovered afterwards. The nurse woman found it rather confusing how somebody could react that way. She led the child down a long corridor of statues, portraits, doors, and chairs before taking a left. The hallways wasn't very lively. There were only a few people walking pass them, here and there. Though, the place seemed rather dead.

The nurse woman turned right and the child silently followed without question. The nurse stopped at a white door that had a grey colored metal nameplate on it's right that said "Take In and Unnecessary Body Removable." Whatever that meant. The nurse woman pushed the door open before entering the strange room.

There was numbers of devices in the eerie room. Ones that the child had never seen before in their life. It scared the child a little, just wondering what they were going to do to him. After a few moments, the nurse woman led the child across the room to two mysterious doors. The woman knocked on the brown well-carved wooden door before her.

A few seconds after, somebody opened the door a crack. They seemed to be looking out at whoever had knocked. A few seconds later, the door was opened wider so the child and the woman could go inside.

It was a man who had answered the door. The man had a long blond ponytail and worse glasses and a long white lab coat. He seemed to look more professional than how the man looked back at the front desk. The man closed the door and went across the room to a computer desk at one end of the room.

The door was closed and the nurse woman led the child over to the corner of the room. The child was given the clothes that the female patients wore. A white dress, since nobody their gender was uncertain. She grabbed the child's arm and pulled them onto a platform under a circular bar before pulled a curtain around them.

The nurse gave the child a few moments to change into their new clothes. The ones that they wore after arriving at the Asylum, were disposed of somewhere. The child pulled on their clothes, slowly. The curtain was almost pulled open while they were putting on the white dress. The woman grabbed the child by the arm and she took them to the middle of the room where a metal rolling bed was silently waiting.

"Vulcan Nakamura." The man in the white coat addressed the child as he typed something into his computer. "I see you are the Heir of the Lord Sebastian Nakamura." He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. He spoke dryly as if he had said that too many times before. "Unidentified gender, 16 years old, height is 5'6, weight is also unidentified. Your sexuality is Bisexual, I see, and your body appearance is Intersex." He reached his right hand up to his face and adjusted his classes.

The child glopped, seeming scared out of his mind. They stayed silent, innocently staring at the doctor. They didn't know if they should reply or not. He didn't exactly know what Bisexual or Intersex meant.

"Intersex?" The nurse wondered out loud, knowing she wasn't supposed to be speaking while the doctor was talking. She seemed both shocked and confused as if she'd never seem or heard of anybody such as that alive before. "So how can we tell if this child is male or female?"

The doctor immediately snapped his head in the woman's direction and hissed. As he hissed, a black pointy and skinny tongue withdrew from his mouth and his eyes seemed to turn bright yellow with red slits. He seemed to be threatening her in some sort of way. After turning his attention back on his computer screen, his eyes changed back to normal and his tongue slipped back into his mouth.

The nurse seemed to become scared of the man. She quickly went back to being silent. She pulled her hands behind her back, waiting for instructions if the man were to give any. She seemed to be his assistant or what not.

"Powers are fire and water, can create both into mist. Species is half demon, half human, and half half-blooded vampire. Abilities are super strength, sprinting at abnormal speed, eyes are able to turn black with red slits, able to hold breath underwater for more than five minutes, can create flames with the tip of fingers... hmmm..."

The doctor stopped typing for a moment and turned to the nurse, who was standing behind the child. "Maybe... this child does not have to wear a neck band... After all, he or she will be the only hybrid in the Ward with human inside of him or her and was born human...." The doctor got up from his chair and slowly walked away from the desk.

The child had no idea what they were talking about. They didn't know what they meant by "neck brace" either. They didn't understand at all. They lowered their head when the man stepped up close to them.

The man grabbed the child gently by their chin and forced them to look at him. The child winced when he was touched. Even though the man was wearing white rubber gloves, it still bothered the child.

The man gently lifted the child's head and used his other hand to reach their neck. The child didn't understand what he was doing. The man touched their neck as if to check for something.

"Interesting..." The man said lowly, just enough for the child to hear him. He looked down at the child, meeting their eyes.

The child nervously looked back up at the man, wishing they could pull away. They were afraid too and they were afraid that they were going to get hurt if they did so.

"When did you get blooded? And who blooded you?"

These questions made the child unable to answer. Their lips quivered and they stuttered as they spoke, "A-a... Pureblood... and f-four other.. demons.."

If the man was surprised, he didn't show it. "A Pureblood." He repeated, "Was it a Pureblood King? A Queen? What was it?"

The doctor wasn't going to let go of the child until he got his answer. Though, the child new this. The child looked off to the side, only moving their eyes. They felt more uneasy and nervous than ever before. He desperately wanted to pull away from whomever this man was.

"A Prince."

"And the demons?" He questioned, quickly asking this. He almost sounded like he was snapped at them.

"...Lords...." The child answered slowly.

Having what he wanted to know, he let go of the child's chin and walked back to his computer. "Since you have human inside of you, I do not think you should wear one of these neck braces." He nodded and he touched his computer desk. After that, his computer seemed to fold itself after he typed on a few keys. A small compartment in the wall slid open and the folded computer went into.

"We do not go by birth names. We go by nicknames..." He walked back to the child and stood tall in front of him, looking down upon him. "You shall be called Sen."

-

Vulcan never heard his name in months. The Asylum's staff seemed extremely keen on making the patients forget their real names. Vulcan didn't understand why he was there or why he was put here. He was confused, but he didn't ask anybody that one question he wasn't supposed to.

Two male nurses walked behind Vulcan, escorting him to the Hybrid Unit. Vulcan wondered why they calling it the Hybrid Unit, but he still didn't ask any questions. He was too scared, nervous to speak to anybody.

At the end of the hallway that seemed endless, there were double doors. A red glowing sign above the door indicated that behind those doors was the Hybrid Unit. Vulcan felt even more nervous, biting his lip. His legs felt numb and he almost didn't want to move any further.

Both of the nurses stepped around Vulcan to pull the doors open. They looked down at Vulcan with harsh looks. The nurse on Vulcan's right moved his head, gesturing the small boy to move forward.

Collecting what courage he had left, he stared straight and moved through the doors.

There were female nurses walking about everyone. Three long hallways stretched out and seemed angled from where Vulcan was standing. This was the Unit where they had the Adolescents. Vulcan couldn't tell how many rooms there were on each side of the three hallways. Though, there must have been more than 100 at least.

Vulcan was taken to a room full adolescents who were around Vulcan's age, but one of the male nurses. It was the very first room on the second hallway. The other male nurse handed the nurse behind the reception desk files that contained information about him.

The door to the room was already wide open. Vulcan looked around the room, hearing a few conversations going on. The room was nearly crammed with teenagers my age. Some had their heads up while others seemed to be sleeping.

There was already a male looking over at Vulcan. He had black long hair that ended just to the end of his ears. His eyes were dark, so Vulcan wasn't sure what color they were, exactly. The boy stared at him in an innocent kind of way, as if he knew who he was.

Vulcan didn't have anymore time to see who the boy was. The nurse behind him gently pushed me as a warning. "Move." He demanded.

Vulcan innocently obeyed and moved further into the room, softly squeaking.

Vulcan was put in an empty bed next to a male who wouldn't stop staring at him.

Vulcan nervously looked down at his feet, only after a few seconds to look back at the boy. Their eyes locked for a few second before the male looked away. He looked away as if he knew something about me... or as if he could tell something about me...

"So, you laugh?" His voice was low, dangerously soft, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I swallowed hard, suddenly aware of how difficult it had become to breathe. "Hades, I—" "But you only laugh at other men's jokes," he interrupted, his gaze piercing, devoid of any humor. "Not your husband's." The accusation in his tone was sharp, slicing through the air between us. A nervous chuckle escaped me. "You can't be serious... He’s your beta, for Goddess’ sake." In an instant, he closed the distance between us, so fast it left me breathless. His hands gripped my waist, pulling me flush against his body, the heat of him making my skin tingle. I gasped, but before I could say a word, his lips crashed onto mine, claiming my mouth with a force that sent shockwaves through me. The kiss was punishing, hungry—I couldn't breathe, couldn't think. When he finally pulled back, I was trembling, my chest heaving as I struggled to regain my breath. His eyes, dark and stormy, searched mine with a possessive intensity. "You can’t laugh at my jokes..." he whispered, his voice a dangerous rasp as his fingers trailed lower, sending a shiver down my spine, "but you’ll come with my fingers." I shivered, heat pooling low in my belly at his words, his touch. The world around us blurred, fading into nothing as his hand slipped lower, drawing a ragged gasp from my lips. The look in his eyes told me he knew exactly what he was doing to me, and there was no denying the primal connection between us in that moment. "I don’t need your laughter," he murmured against my skin, his breath hot on my neck. "I’ll have every other part of you instead." **** Dark fantasy romance Morally Grey ML Angst Suspense ENEMIES to lovers Smut (like sprinkles on your ice cream)
