ASH SETTLES

"Sir, orders from Master Philip. Our top priority is to get to the east camp site and assist our troops there. Supposedly a wildfire has started and can cause a lot of damage if not dealt with right away"

"Damn these assassins! I want ten men to give chase to the Assassins that got through. The rest of you lets hurry east"

...........

Ken was laughing as the fire grew.

"Retreat!" a white wolf officer called.

Three assassins remained, breathing heavily.

"What's the matter, guys aren't you having fun," Ken asked grinning like a madman.

The fire leapt out of control.

....

"Attention, Lord Azul has arrived!" The white wolves gathered and reformed ranks.

Azul observed the situation, "This is going to be difficult without magic."

"Then why don't you use it Sir?"

"Master Philip has set up a magic nullifying field."

Azul thought for a while then ordered the men to start multiple fires of their own at some positions.

"We are going to fight fire with fire"

"Yes. I wonder who has enough power to overcome master's barrier and use fire Magic? It must be taking a lot of toll, on whomever it is."

......

"They have given up chase." Gus's voice was slightly hoarse.

"That's good then. Is that smoke?" Cyer spoke as he looked back,

"Looks like a wildfire."

"Whatever, we need to keep moving"

"I see the last camp. There are only nine men there, do we fight?" Gus brought his hand to his sword.

"No, they are elites. We might be killed." Cyer who was aware of the wolves ranking spoke calmly.

"So, what now? "

Cyer stopped. Quickly evaluating his options. "Here is what we are going to do. You carry Karen out of here. I'll create a diversion."

"Carry Karren?"

"Yes, she will be recovering her strength shortly. You need to cross this area, I made a promise, so get out of here." Cyer spoke with direct commands, he did not want to have to discuss his decision.

"I understand." Gus accepted the orders.

Karren, looked from Cyer to Gus, "Wait wait, what about you Cyer?"

"Hahaha, I am going to enjoy myself that's all. Now then."

Gus lifted Karren as she shook her head, "I don't understand"

Cyer nodded, "Oh and before I go, Karren, look into stuff. Everything is not as it seems."

"Wha... wait".

Cyer ran towards the Camp

The Nine men looked at him and smiled.

"Open the exit. Anyone who can cross it with us here deserves to cross, got that kid"

"Why thank you," Cyer smiled, "but I don't intend to cross," with that he charged at one of the Elites as the others stood watching in surprise.

Cyer deployed some smoke and charged at the man.

"Oh, underhanded tactics," The man called out as he quickly avoided Cyer's strike in the smoke.

Gus sprinted as soon as the smoke spread

Cyer smiled and changed targets attacking the man who stood at the exit's entrance. The man stepped back doing so while he caught hold of Cyer's arm. At the same moment, Gus with Karren on his back, went by from the point the elite had stepped back from, like a bullet and sprinted ahead.

The man took note of this as he flung Cyer far in the middle of the group

"Ah, your objective was to allow those two to escape, well-done, but now what are you thinking about yourself?"

"Ha-ha, Me? I am guessing asking you nicely won't do any good." Cyer played off the question smiling.

"Why don't you try, brat."

*CLANGGGGG*

Cyer and the Elites engaged in combat.

............

"Lord Azul the fire it is dying out. Your plan worked."

"I am glad it did,"

Most of the white wolves had gathered, fighting the fires.

"Now then let us get its source." Azul said as he entered the flames.

Ken sat with the three assassins' in a corner of the camp as Azul walked over

All three assassins got up and charged at him together.

Azul smiled, grabbing one by the arm, and banging him into another. The third assassin struck Azul's shoulder with all his might, but it caused only a small cut.

"Wha...Why?" The assassin blurted out looking from his sword that had cracked due to the forceful impact to Azul's shoulder.

Azul smiled again as he grabbed the assassin's head in one hand leaning towards him "It would take a strike 100 time's as powerful as that to hurt me" saying that he clenched his hand, as the assassin's head exploded with a bust sound.

Azul then looked at Ken in Kai's body, as he sat there tempering with the bracelets on his hands.

"Kai..." Azul said

"I am sorry, Kai is not available at the moment, please try later." Ken said without looking at Azul

"So, you are the demon, why do you help our enemies?"

"Why, you ask. Well because they are your enemies not mine, and their side looked more fun to be on. Now then If you would excuse me," Ken got up, and walked through the fire. As Azul shook his head.

"I guess it's over for now," he sighed....

......

The west Exit... Nine bodies lay on the dirt floor, and a trail of blood traced towards the north. as more white wolves entered, immediately tracking the trail.
