43) LEAVING THE BARREN ZONE

After my many days of training in and practicing my skills, I was finally ready for the hunt, and I don't mean the kind of hunting I did be for, I mean a through hunt, where instead of waiting for the opportunity of a good pray to come to me, I will go and look for that opportunity by myself.

After thinking for a little while, I stated to make my way out of the barren field, I moved while keeping a close eye for any changes to my environment, I did not want to get ambushed by an unknown predators. After scanning the environment and saw that there was nothing to be worried about, I stated increasing my speed as I moved out of the barren field.

As I made my way out, I just noticed the amount of destruction my skills can inflict on the environment, it was a very good skill that will bring me a lot of profits, if I use it right,…. But the after effect of the skill was very bad. I mean it literally devastated this entire area, and by the looks of the soil and the lack of nutrients and life that I cannot sense from it. I don't think ant will grow here for a very long time.

I decided to ignore the after effect of my skill and concentrate on the hunt at hand because I was almost at the border of the barren field. As I arrived at the edge of the barren field, it was just like the cross road between life and death, one side was field with abundant life, while the other side was field with nothing but death. It ones again reminded me of the responsibility that came with my skill.

Living that train of thought behind. I set my legs over the cross read and set foot onto the lush grass land, and for the first time since that incident happened to me, I could see clearly what the beautiful forest actually looks like, with dense and very big trees in the environment, beautiful flowers, and the lovely forest air on my skin,….. or my vines,….. it was a very refreshing moment. Until I felt a jolt of pain go throw my side body, and was flung into a tree. I slammed into the tree so had that I almost lost consciousness.

I fell down hard on the forest flow, with a big hole on the side of my body, with me twitching from the pain that I was feeling, I managed to calm myself down and look at my assailant. And there it was, right where I was standing before.

A massive rat, with black fur and tree blade like horns, that were also by no means small, I think it can be classified as the king of rats, for how massive it looks. It looked directly at me with fury in its eyes, and before I knew what was going on, it charged at me with amazing speed. I managed to react in time and dodged out of the way of its attack at the last second. But the rat was not so lucky. Because of its horns and the speed it was moving at, the rat did not predict that I would be able to dodge it attack, and slammed into the tree, getting his horns stoke in it.
