SETTING

Geography of Earthland1

The world in which the story is set is called Earthland, which is the equivalent of the planet earth. On Earthland the physical laws are distorted by the presence of the Prana and the Mana, varying many realities we know; The era in which the characters live is a mix between a futuristic world and a medieval world ; this is because with the use of magic, technological development without magic is not developed linearly, except in some places of Earthland where comunqueesiste u mix between the two realities: to give you an example, the landscape in which the characters of my story live is very similar to the one in which the characters of "A Retourner's magic should be special"

On Earthland, there are 4 realms, each with its own peculiarities:

1. Republic of Mykotos; The republic of Mykotos, also called the "Multi Kingdom", is the place where most of the protagonists come from, and it is the greatest kingdom of all; it is called the "Multi kingdom " as many other races can be found within Mykotos, such as elves and dwarves.

Mykotos, because of its size, is divided into 21 districts, each with its own denomination and/or indicated by a number, indicating its importance; for example, the capital of Mykotos, Veras, is located in district 0, which is the most important and "rich" district of the kingdom, being also the district where the king lives.

Each district is then governed by 21 chosen persons called Administrators, who can be directly chosen by the king, or voted by the population in some districts (usually the less important ones). Usually, administrators are magical knights or high-ranking magicians, aristocrats, sons of kings, or indeed, people elected by the population. However, it is common for administrators to be beings of powerful magical ability.

2. Kingdom of Lorien; the Kingdom of Lorien is commonly called the elf kingdom; the elf kingdom is located north of Myotos, and is the smallest kingdom of Earthland; despite this, it is also the richest kingdom, since in their extremely fertile lands are born many of the plants used to create potions, while in their mountains reside precious minerals in massive quantities.

It is very rare to see humans or dwarves in their lands, as most elves distrust the stranger, often making them hostile to them.

The Kingdom is ruled by 3 families, both direct descendants of the most powerful wizard in history, Eledwen:

- The Blueheaven family, who hold political power and are responsible for relations with other kingdoms; they hide some of the most important ancient texts in the world;

- the family of the Darkold, a family that controll all the military power; they are also responsible for controlling and defending the various frontiers with the other kingdoms;

- The Greenold family, those who hold economic power and know the real location of other mines hidden around Earthland in the case of a serious economic crisis;

3. The Kingdom of Domul, or the Dwarf Kingdom. Unlike other kingdoms, their kingdom is completely structured underground, with well-divided areas called "Girone", with at the bottom the most important and dark secrets of their civilization.

Because of this, they do not have much connection with the Outer World, particularly with the kingdom of Lorien, due to a serious dispute that arose in a bloody war between the two kingdoms hundreds of years ago;

4. Kingdom of Orkland, or the Orc Kingdom. Here too, like the kingdom of Domul, there is a poor connection with the other kingdoms, but purely for a cultural reason: they are afraid that their traditions may somehow be "soiled" by the traditions of other kingdoms. But this does not mean that they are hostile, on the contrary, they are a very welcoming people. But when you arrive in their lands, it is extremely obligatory to respect and use their customs, otherwise you will be sent out of their walls.

They are located at the south of Mykotos, and their kingdom is formed by a series of Islands, and in one of these is a large volcano called "Seregon", which erupt an high amount of magma united with mana.

THE AWAKENED

The awakened are none other than those who have awakened their core, thus giving it the ability to use mana.

This category includes anyone who can manipulate the Mana or an Element, such as wizards, magical beasts and other entities present in the novel.

In Earthland, every living being has mana, but not everyone is able to use this power.

Awakening can usually take place in two ways:

1. Autonomously during the first years of life; the earlier one awakens one's heart, the more one will have a high affinity with mana;

2. Forced Awakening, that is, the use of spells, drugs or core manipulations to awaken one's powers. This method is not only extremely dangerous, but is part of the techniques banned from the 4 realms.

Once awakened, you will still have to purify, train and expand your ability to use mana through the core;

In fact, the awakened are classified according to the level of their core, identified in the order of the Roman numerals:

- CLASS VII

- CLASS VI

- CLASS V

- CLASS IV

- CLASS III

- CLASS II

- CLASS I

- CLASS 0

Classes range from VII (or the lowest class of an awakened), to class 0, the highest class of an awakened.

There are also two classes, but they are not recognized: class Null, that is, all those who do not have a core such that they cannot even be compared to a class VII; class X, that would be the state in which a human being transcends the maximum limits of a living being, reaching the state of being transcendental.

What happens when a being awakens? Well, the following things happen:

- Changes in the skeletal structure and muscles (strengthening of the muscles and greater elasticity);

- Improvement of the 6 senses;

- rapid regenerating factor;

- Higher thinking speed;

All this happens because the body, sensing the presence of mana, will try to adapt to the new force. In addition, the more training goes on, the more these changes will become more and more marked.

Being Italian, I might have some problems with English... so forgive me if you see some mistakes in writing/dictation, I will try to improve over time!

Cheer me up!
