10 Tears of Sorrow

A smile flashed on Myeong Hee's face who had just finished an embroidery on a dress she made herself. The clothes she will give to her husband who since three days ago went to his parents' house because his father fell ill. At that time she wanted to come too to accompany his father-in-law, but Yong Cha forbade her on the grounds that his parents' house was far enough away. It so happened that his parents had long since moved from Hanyang and returned to their hometown in Jeolla Province.

"Lee Myeong Hee-ssi! You home?"

The voice of a woman outside distracts Myeong Hee. The woman's Gumiho rushed down from the porch of her house and walked towards her door. She wonder who is visiting her now. "Oh? Madam what's wrong?" she asked after she opened the door of her house.

"Lee Myeong Hee-ssi! Your husband was found dead!"

Myeong Hee cries loudly at the sight of the lifeless body of her husband---Jung Yong Cha. The man's body was covered with stab wounds and even his handsome face was no longer visible because it was covered with bruises. According to police officers, Yong Cha is suspected of being the victim of a murder and investigators are currently investigating the case.

"Don't worry, Myeong Hee-ssi. I'll find out who killed your husband," said Park Dong Soo, who happens to work as a police chief.

Myeong Hee who heard the words from the officer actually gave a sharp look at the man. Somehow she felt that the person who had made her husband lose his life was the man in front of her, Park Dong Soo. She believes it was because she remembered the incident a few weeks ago when Yong Cha behaved badly to Dong Soo to save herself.

"Thank you for your kindness, Chief Park. I hope you can find the person who killed my husband," Myeong Hee said with emphasis on every word she said.

Park Dong Soo, I'm pretty sure it was you who killed my husband. Just watch, I'll finish you off!

Laughter was heard in a room at Dong Soo's residence. The middle-aged man was gathering together with some of his friends. Feast on a sumptuous dinner prepared by the host.

"But even if you killed Yong Cha, you wouldn't be able to marry his wife, right?" Jung In said.

Dong Soo smiles obliquely at the words of a colleague. "You're absolutely right. I can't marry a widow. Therefore i will make her my servant, and for her son i will make him a slave."

Unbeknownst to the men, their conversation is all clearly heard by Myeong Hee who is silent outside the room. The woman, who now appears in her true form as a gumiho, carries a torch with a large burning flame in her right hand, while in her left hand she grips the hair of a young woman who is no longer covered in blood.

"Humans are disgusting," Myeong Hee murmured.

The female Gumiho then threw the torch into the room. The room started to burn, leaving the people inside screaming in panic. Myeong Hee smiles sarcastically at the rapidly growing flames, then turns to leave the house while dragging the woman's body.

Soo Chan wakes up when he hears the sound of objects falling outside his room. Out of curiosity, he chose to go outside, see what had fallen earlier. He came out slowly, for fear that the fallen object was a thief. His eyebrows were raised when he saw the blood stains on the wooden floor. The bloodstain ended up in her mother's room, which was directly opposite her room. Vaguely, from his mother's room he saw someone's shadow, but strangely there were nine tails there.

With slow steps, he approached his mother's room. With his index finger he punched a hole in the door of the mother's room. How surprised he was when he saw a creepy figure with nine tails appear on the back of a figure who was none other than his own mother. Both of her eyes widened as her mother's eye bead caught her whereabouts.

Soo Chan is scared away from his mother's room, he was about to run away but somehow Myeong Hee was already in front of him, staring at him sharply to make him fall.

"You see it?"asked Myeong Hee in a creepy voice.

"Monster!" Soo Chan said as he moved backwards away from his mother. "Don't come closer!"

Myeong Hee is speechless to hear her son calling her a monster. The female Gumiho walked up to Soo Chan, she squatted down and strangled her son's neck very strongly. "You ... what did you call me? Monster?"

Soo Chan does not answer, he is currently starting to have difficulty breathing, even he feels a stinging in his neck skin. He will die tonight, she thought.

"Soo Chan-a, since you've seen it, I'll give you two options," Myeong Hee whispered in her son's ear. "Continue your life or end your life here?"

"I choose to die!"answer Soo Chan without any hesitation at all. "I, better, die than, live with you!"

Myeong Hee begins to hesitate after hearing the answer chosen by the child. He stared into Soo Chan's eyes. "Are you sure about your choice?" She asked but was not answered at all by the child. "Well, I'll grant it."

Without feeling guilty at all Myeong Hee strangled the boy's neck, making the young man start to have trouble breathing. His piercing gaze looked into Soo Chan's two eyes, who was still able to return his gaze. He stiffened his stranglehold on Soo Chan's neck until the next second, the young man breathed his last.

Myeong Hee let go of her hand that was still strangling her son's neck. He checked the pulse of the young man who was no longer there. I don't know why he's guilty of killing his own son with both hands. Tears flowed from both corners of his eyes.

"Soo Chan-a," called Myeong Hee as she pulled Soo Chan's lifeless body. He hugged his son firmly and with tears beginning to run down his face. "Jung Soo Chan!"
