The Door of Destiny

Somewhere hidden from the light, darkness envelops everything. No stars, no moon, no lights could illuminate the place. Only silence, loneliness and emptiness filled it. He stood in the doorway, which was weathered and dusty. It was the only door that had been thinned out. The door looked very worn. Its surface was peeling, revealing dark and cracked wood. The handle was dusty, as if it had never been touched by human hands. Above the door was a wooden sign that read "The Chain of Destiny" in faded and scratched letters. The writing was too faint to be read. He probably wouldn't realize that the door would be the medium of all the terrible stories that happened behind it.

*TOK TOK TOK!*

He knocked softly on the old door.

"......."

There was no answer. He tried again, louder this time.

*TOCK TOCK TOCK!

"......."

Still no answer. He sensed that something was wrong with this situation. He turned the doorknob and pushed it slowly. The door opened with a creak. The contents behind the door slowly came into view. What he saw shocked him and he screamed in terror.

Behind the door, many bodies lay scattered on the ground with horrible wounds and fresh blood. He saw puddles of thick red blood everywhere. The blood came from the bodies that had been cruelly killed without mercy. The blood created a terrible harmony with the red color that dominated the sky of the place. The blood seemed to be a testament to the madness and evil that had taken place there. A fishy, foul smell wafted from inside the place, piercing her nose sharply. He felt nauseous and wanted to throw up.

He looked up at the sky in horror. There, the moon was covering the sun, creating a gripping and terrifying total eclipse. The sunlight that had always been the source of life was gone, replaced by a thick, enveloping darkness. The atmosphere became somber. There was only silence. He felt helpless and dizzy. He could not stand the pressure and fear that tormented his soul. Unable to bear the sight, he finally collapsed.
