Chapter 84 : The happy ending.

Third person point of view

Joshua went to Elijah with the report he was asked to finish and submit by the end of the day. Elijah took it and found a few mistakes. " There are mistakes in it ". He told about the mistakes. " Check once again and correct them. Be careful ". " Sorry sir, I will change them ". Joshua took the file and walked out. He clenched his jaw.

He scoffed. " How can he just scold me when he never even told me how to do all these ? " He put the file on his table and walked to the washroom. He stood in front of the counter and took a deep breath. He was stressed for a few days and the work was quite something. He took out his phone and called Nicholas. " Yo. What is it ? "

" Is he an idiot ? " Nicholas laughed at the question. " Believe me. He is ". " Exactly ! I am so done with him ". Nicholas chuckled. " What happened ? " Joshua took a deep breath. " He should be lucky enough that I love him if not I would've cursed him by now ". Nicholas laughed again. " Cool, cool. You know he is strict with work ". Joshua huffed.

" He never even told me about what to do ! What does he expect from me ? Should I understand everything by telepathy and do it ? I am not some kind of genius who can read people's mind and heart. Going around scolding people with that resting bitch face. I am not scared of it ! " Joshua was raging.

Nicholas on the other side was enjoying this. " Aww. It is fine. Don't worry. Who knows he might apologize to you later ". " Whatever ". Joshua took a deep breath. " Cool now ? " Joshua nodded to himself. " Better. Thanks ". " No problem. Anytime ". Joshua hung up and went back to work. He sat down to finish the file. Nicholas shook his head smiling. He texted Elijah.

Nick : Looks like you will be sleeping on the couch tonight ;)

Elijah : ?

Nicholas sent him the voice recording of his call with Joshua. Elijah laughed after hearing it. Meanwhile Joshua finished the file and this time with no mistakes. When he submitted the second time, he got a nod as an approval from Elijah. Once they were done with the day, Elijah walked to his car along with Joshua.

Joshua didn't speak much and was quiet. " What happened ? " Joshua turned to Elijah. " What ? " " You look off ". Joshua rolled his eyes and turned to look out of the window. Elijah smiled but quickly covered it up. " Let's do this. Now I am not your boss but boyfriend Elijah, so tell me what happened ". Joshua took a deep breath.

" That idiot doesn't even know what he is doing sometimes. Instead of teaching me to solve mysteries, he should've taught me how to make reports as a qualified secretary. Dumb ass ". " Dumb indeed ". Elijah laughed. The rest of the ride was silent. When they entered the house, Joshua stood near the couch without sitting down.

Elijah who sat down already looked at Joshua. " Why ? " Joshua rubbed his neck. " I am sorry. I was not being professional enough and was childish. I will try not to mix up both of them and work properly ". Elijah extended his hand. " Come here ". Joshua took his hand and Elijah pulled him to make him sit on his lap.

" You are not childish. I am at mistake too. I should've told you properly since you are new to all of this. Don't worry ". He patted Joshua's head who nodded lightly. " I guess I am indeed dumb ". Joshua looked up frowning and pouting. " Okay, okay. I won't tease you ". He hugged Joshua and kissed his cheek. Joshua chuckled and got up to change.

Their day went by like every other day. Joshua went to sit on the couch after finishing his duty of cleaning the dishes. " You look a little restless. Did something happen ? " Joshua asked seeing Elijah who had a small frown ever since they were eating dinner. Elijah shook his head. " Really ? " Joshua asked not able to believe it.

Elijah nodded and Joshua nodded too, letting it be. They just watched the television silently for a while. " Joshua ". " Huh ? " Joshua turned to Elijah. Elijah was looking straight ahead. " I want to ask you something ". Joshua nodded. " Sure ". " Umm..... " Elijah stalled a little and Joshua wondered what it was about.

Elijah got up and went to the front. He sat on one knee in front of Joshua. Joshua stared at Elijah without even blinking. " I didn't prepare something grand or big. I don't even as much as have anything to give to you right now. But I mean it with my heart and I wanted to ask this for a while now. Will you marry me ? "

Joshua just stared at Elijah for a few seconds. Elijah was a little nervous wondering what Joshua was thinking. Joshua stood up and Elijah looked at him waiting for his answer. " I will ". Joshua answered. Elijah's eyes went wide. " Really ? " Joshua chuckled. " Really ". Elijah stood up and hugged Joshua.

Joshua put his hands around Elijah hugging him tightly. They pulled away and smiled at each other. Joshua saw Elijah's eyes sparkling. He smiled wider seeing how much it meant to Elijah. Elijah looked at Joshua with so much love in his eyes. He held Joshua's face and leaned forward for a kiss and closed his eyes.

Time skip

Elijah's point of view

I took a deep breath and opened my eyes. I look around to see everyone waiting for Joshua. The doors open and all of us turn in unison. Joshua is there smiling at all of them. His eyes then land on me and he smiles wider. I smile back at him too. He walks ahead with his father by his side. Everything flashes back to me.

I liked him the moment I saw him, but never really knew if I wanted more. Who would've thought, that good looking guy I saw for mere seconds would actually come into my life again, would love me for me, would be willing to spend the rest of his life time with me ? Believe me, even I didn't. From love at first sight to love of a life time, our journey was something I enjoyed.

I might not be able to remember every second of it, but I know it will be there somewhere in my memory. It will definitely be embedded there. Joshua comes and stands beside me. The both of us turn to stand in front of each other. He looked a little nervous. I can't stop my lips from curving upwards. I start speaking first.

" I don't know if I will have a time in my life where I don't want you. So you should be prepared to have me clinging onto you for as long as you are alive. I am not someone who believes in promises, but I will show it in my actions. I will never let you regret any of your decisions in your life. Including me ". The both of us laugh.

" Thank you for loving me and coming into my life ". I finish with a smile. Joshua looked at me with moist eyes. " Isn't this cheating ? I didn't prepare any speech. Tsk ". He pouted a little. I chuckle. " I will chase you down if you don't cling to me then. Deal ? " He asked with a smug expression. I nod. " Deal ". Joshua chuckled.

The priest comes to stand on our side facing the crowd. " Do you, Elijah, wish to take, Joshua, as your lawfully wedded husband in the name of god and promise to be with them in all their happiness and hardships and trials in life and promise to support them through everything ? " " I do ". I smile.

" Do you, Joshua, wish to take, Elijah, as your lawfully wedded husband in the name of god and promise to be with them in all their happiness and hardships and trials in life and promise to support them through everything ? " " I do ". Joshua smiled. Nicholas comes up with both of our rings. The both of us take them and he moves to the side again.

Joshua puts the ring on me first. I put it on for him next. I took Joshua's hands in mine. " I will be your home, so please be mine ". Joshua smiled. " With pleasure, Mr. Elijah Simon. Thank you for coming into my life too ". I smiled wider. Joshua put his hands around my neck and we both lean forward for a kiss. I smile into the kiss. Everyone cheered loudly.

We pull away and the smile never left my lips. All of them are happy and busy enjoying the moment. Joshua looks up at me. " Where are you taking me for honeymoon ? " He whispers so only I could hear it. I raise an eyebrow. " You are so eager for it ? " Joshua smiled wider. " I am actually eager to escape my boss. He is making me work too much these days ".

I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Joshua laughed when he saw my expression. I pull him closer by his waist. " Then let me make you forget everything and enjoy your oh so awaited honeymoon ". He smirked. " Sounds good to me ". I chuckle and put my forehead against his. I felt content.

I wouldn't want anything else in life. I guess I got everything I strived for; be it position or love. I will make sure to keep them by me for however long I can. And this was my love story. I don't know if it can be called one for you guys, but it was definitely one for me. Hope you enjoyed knowing it even though you might not find one like mine. ( winks )
