Chapter sixteen
(Matthew's Pov)
It takes me longer than usual to find her even though I know her scent. It is like she is deliberately hiding from me which Is absurd. There are only two ways I know that could be feasible; the first one would involve a witch and the second is too alien to consider.
So I'll just conclude that I'm getting rusty and I need more training since it's far better and easier to swallow than the fact that my mate was intentionally hiding from me.
The only reason I even found her was because she called out for me; to my utmost relief.
I find her in a shroud of trees and slowly approach. I see the exact moment she hears me because she freezes up and starts taking deep breaths. I hear her mumbling something about standing still and my departure causing my wolf to huff in amusement.
